right across the street from one of the prettiest beaches we've ever seen. tom and hugo are terrific--friendly and helpful in every way. ask hugo to cook dinner for you--it's delish! the hotel itself is beautifully constructed and maintained. the public spaces--shared outdoor kitchen, garden, and hammock lounge are delightful. we'd recommend las palmas maya without reservation.

I booked Las Palmas Maya based on the great reviews, but I wasn't 100% sure how we'd feel about not staying right on the beach, and in a place without food service onsite. As soon as we arrived, I totally understood all the great reviews, and if we make it back to Tulum I will DEFINITELY book LPM! LPM has figured out, for me, the perfect formula. Clean, safe, comfortable, friendly, extremely well-managed (and functional!), affordable, fantastic location. They have all the things that really matter. We stayed only 3 nights so we didn't use the kitchen but that alone is a lifesaver and purse-saver for those with a longer stay -- we enjoyed venturing out to local restaurants which are plentiful nearby. Loved that the ATM was across the street. The walk to the beach was nothing; it was as if we were on the beach just without the beach view. We thoroughly enjoyed the air conditioning in the Garden Suite because is was HOT outside. :)
We followed all Tom's excellent recommendations and thorough tips for activities -- he was like a personal concierge with the service level of a five star hotel. Tom, Hugo, and Cheryl were all fantastic and uber-responsive. THANKS YOU GUYS! You MADE our anniversary trip!

Room Tip: Garden Suite air conditioner was SOOOOOOO nice.

I have been meaning to write this review since my girlfriend and I stayed at LPM last October.

It has to be one of the best places I have ever stayed and I seriously hope I get the chance to return one day. The place in beautifully constructed with recycled wood and the outdoor/indoor kitchen is amazing. We also thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs terrace and lounging on the hammocks when I got a bit too hot. The rooms were also beautifully maintained and designed and it felt very much like an Eco lodge type of environment.

The best part though has to be Tom who is one of the most energetic and genuine people I have ever met. From the moment we met him he was full of ideas and tips and really made our time there very enjoyable. He brews coffee in the morning, helps you organise great tours, gives you the great places to set and then brews up these amazing cocktails to drink. The man can seriously blend!!

I can't describe how much we loved Tulum and hope to get back there one day.

This hotel was a true gem in Tulum. The rooms were beautiful and were cleaned to perfection each day. What really made this was the staff. Tom and Hugo were excellent. Friendly and profesional, they were full of advice regarding what to see and do and where to eat and drink. They happily helped to organise tours and transport and Tom whipped up some of his famous Cococaladas which were indeed delicious. I would definítely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone visiting Tulum.

We stayed here for three nights in June. It is located on the zona hotelera of Tulum about ten minutes drive down. In the zona hotelera there are places on the beach side of the road and places on the jungle side, and las palmas is on the jungle side. There are three parking spaces and the parking seemed very secure. On arrival we were warmly greeted and shown all of the facilities. There is a clean communal kitchen, fridge and larder space for if you do self cater. Fresh coffee available in the morning. The communal spaces offer comfortable chairs and hammocks, and also proper dining tables to eat at. The room we had was comfortable, very nice shower, comfortable bed with mosquito net. There is only a fan for keeping cool (we did still feel quite hot when in the room) and the decor was a little dark and gloomy. But with so much to do and beautiful surroundings you won't stay in the room much! The hotel has an agreement with Om across the road for using the sun loungers and we found that a great way to get to be on the beach. Hugo and Tom were both great for making suggestions of places to visit that you might miss without their help. You could be very happy here for either a short or long break and it is great value for money.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback! We do feel that LPM offers much value for the price, and the communal kitchen is a big part of that. It allows guests to save considerably on their overall dining budget, should they choose to use it. As energy efficient lighting continues to improve, we will continue to work on the lighting in our rooms as well. We hope that you are able to visit again!

I stayed at LPM for 6 nights, and as all other reviews have mentioned, my stay was not only in a convenient location, safe, and comfortable, but met with the utmost hospitality from Tom and Hugo. Cheryl, one of the owners, while not on site, was also most helpful in pre-trip planning, answering all my questions completely and promptly. Those who work at LPM clearly take great pride in making your stay not only fantastic, but geared to your specific needs and requests. My friend and I were met every morning with a cheerful smile and a robust cup of coffee (thank goodness)!! We rented bicycles one day to get to the grocery store and pick up a few items for enjoying the clean communal kitchen. We were always steered in the right direction whether it be a delicious, no frills meal or an excursion or airport transfer services. Not to mention this stretch of beach (a 30 second walk away) is stunning, and relaxing on the beds at OM is welcomed. I got the best beach vacation and am already planning my return. Thank you thank you, especially to Tom and Hugo, for helping make our stay extraordinary!

I was in Tulum June 4-10th and had an amazing time from the minute we got picked up at the airport by Memo (www.cancuninntransfersgb.com) who was suggest by the fantastic people at LPM! When we got to the hotel, Hugo came out to greet us and carried our suitcases upstairs for us, this was definitely a plus! He gave us some time to settle in and then gave us a tour of the hotel explaining everything in great detail, we loved the communal kitchen & hammock lounge! He gave us suggestions of places to eat etc. The next thing we did was go over to OM which is the beach right across the street that we have access to and we made ourselves at home as we were going to spend a great deal of time there over the next 5 days!
Our room was super clean everyday and the bed was comfortable, we slept well every night and the fans kept it comfortable. My friend loved the coffee in the mornings that was waiting for us! I asked them to save some coffee for me to have ice coffee in the afternoon (I can't have coffee in the mornings!) and they very kindly accommodated my request! We loved being able to cook breakfast or make a snack in the kitchen throughout our trip.
As soon as we met Tom, we hit it off with him right away, he is just super authentic and genuine (Hugo too!) and I could tell he truly wanted us to explore and love Tulum. He drew us an awesome map with highlights of where to go and whenever we tried one of his recommendations, it was always amazing! He never led us wrong. We were guided to Mateo's where they really do have the best fish tacos on Earth, a beautiful lagoon where we had our favorite June day ever and a fantastic place in town that make incredible margaritas and then an amazing authentic restaurant for dinner with the most delicious fresh ceviche! That was just one day! Without the fantastic and caring staff at LPM, we would not have had that incredible day, so thank you Tom & Hugo! We also saw the Ruins, had an adventure going to the Ceynotes and just wandering around Tulum.
Since I left Las Palmas Maya I've been telling everyone they must go to Tulum and stay here! I'm very happy this is where we spent our time in Tulum, and I would definitely go back again!
