Have been here a handful of times and have always really, really enjoyed it. Everything I've had has been wonderful and fresh tasting. You can tell the food is made with love. The place is cozy and casual, the small staff is very friendly, and the prices are super reasonable (70-80 pesos for an entree, 50 for an appetizer).

My husband, 2 years old daughter and I went there on one of our last nights in Tulum and loved the food so much that we came back the following night. We had the burgers which were cooked to perfection, the food presentation is very appetizing and the girls who run it are very sweet. The juices were home made and refreshing, we finished our meal with the vegan chocolate brownie which was delicious.
Someone said in another comment that they liked "El vegetariano" better. We went there on our first night and left the restaurant HUNGRY even after a 3 course meal. You might spend a little more at "La hoja verde" but you will definitely eat to your heart's content.
If we ever come back to Tulum we'll definitely visit this restaurant again!

Nice little place, friendly staff, food was OK, but not great.

Must say that the other veg place ('el Vegetariano', end of town, at the junction of the beach road ... not on Trip Advisor) was much better and cheaper.

I have to say, it's hard to find good vegetarian food in Mexico. Period. But I was not impressed with la hoja verde, and an rather surprised that it's number one on the list! Especially with so many other options available both in town and on the beach. When my husband and I visited, we were really looking forward to the falafel. Unfortunately, the kitchen was out. The owner/waitress informed us that it was too difficult for a staff of two to manage the kitchen and the tables (we sat at the third occupied table). However, she allowed us to make one order of falafel, but not the falafel burger. I didn't understand how it was different. Honestly, our food was disappointing. He ordered the curry. It was very starchy, consisting of mostly corn and carrots, which seemed to come from a can. The falafel came out looking like tater tots that were packed with gluten. There was so much flour packed into the falafel balls that it was hard to enjoy the flavor of the garbanzos or other spices you should enjoy when you eat Mediterranean food.
