“Lovely little mexican palapa”
Reviewed 15 June 2013

This palapita is a very nice little place where to eat a simple and genuine mexican meal. There is a TV broadcasting soap operas all the time and you can enjoy your meal watching TV with the owners. You will feel like a guest in their living room. You can have for 30 pesos an hamburger with fries (do not expect plenty of them anyway but a fair portion with this hot wheather). The meat is fresh and very good. Fries are handmade and cooked at the moment. Mexican plates are from 20 pesos to 60 pesos. The owners are very kind and all the food is prepared with love. Do not expect a restaurant: they have plastic tables. We prefer this kind of ambience as reflecting perfectly the pueblo living. Great deal for simple but good food.

“Delicious, great deal!”
Reviewed 27 December 2012

The location is easy to find, they are towards the southern end of town on the main drag.
The huaracheras are amazing open-faced corn flat breads (Gluten free!!!!) topped with fresh veggies and choice of protein or more veggies.
Refreshing jamaica and fruit waters. The service is typical of Mayan people, charming and friendly. Expect to spend about $2-5 USD on your meal and drink. You'd be hard pressed to find a better deal for this quality of food.
The ambiance is authentic and you dine with locals. Don Cafeto on the same side has good food too, just not at this price.

“Delicious and authentic flavor”
Reviewed 24 December 2012

Being from Yucatan, I can say that the food has the authentic Yucatan flavor, you can also appreciate that hygiene with food preparation.

The staff is very friendly and the prices are affordable.

The motuleños eggs are very tasty!

“Fantastic food, service, and value!!!”
Reviewed 19 December 2012

A must stop for anyone looking for authentic Yucatan cuisine. Flavors and options are beyond any of their competition. Try everything, it's all delicious and very well done! Here for the winter and as hard as we try to limit our visits per week, we're still here 3-4 times per week... if not more!

We ate here twice on a 4 day stop in Tulum. The staff were very friendly and the soft taco's and fresh juices delicious.
