We stayed at Rosa del Viento for 12 nights in Nov-13. When we arrived we had no idea about the construction work that was going on at the premises. We got a bungalow next to the building place, which resulted in that we were awakened early in the mornings by the workers and we could not use our little terass due to all the noises and all the junk that fell from the construction work next doors! The manager though, offered us a change of bungalow and a discount, which was nice, but not until 6 days had passed.
The cleaning was not so good, the refilling of amenities didn't happen once! The bungalows had an impression of being worn out, the drains didn't work properly and so on...
The food in the restaurant was not of a high quality. We had dinner once, and had to leave the food uneaten due to a very bad smell and taste of the fish ordered! No excuse or offer of something else was given. The breakfast was average. The service very inconsistent.
No, Rosa del Viento is not living up to the 4-star criteria!
Be aware of that Rosa del Viento is situated at the far end of the Zona Hotelera, which means that you either have to walk quite a bit, or take a taxi to other restaurants and the little shopping there is.More
