We spent a fantastic 9 days at this hotel and loved it for the following:

Staff were so warm, friendly and helpful - remember they are on beach time so if you've just arrived from the City, chill.
Our room was simply furnished, huge and clean. Comfortable bed
Delicious food, preferred to eat lunch here and visit the many restaurants in Tulum for dinner. Amazing BBQ when the fishing boat arrives and the chef BBQs on the beach - perfect lunch.
Best part of the beach in Tulum.
Lovely cocktails.
Comfortable sun loungers.
Hotel arranged many activities for us - swimming and diving the Cenotes, visiting ruins etc and all reasonably priced.

10 minutes along the road is Sian Energy Spa for a luxury spa experience

Hire a bike, it is cheap and you get to visit all the individual shops that you don't notice when passing in a car.

Only negative was the safe didn't work, which is a bit of a worry when you have lots of gadgets, wallets, passports etc.

Room Tip: Go for garden rooms, they are 1 minute to the beach, new and enormous plus really quiet.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. We really loved the location regarding that it located on the most beautiful part of the beach. The rooms are spacious and fresh. The garden is nice with hammocks all around where you can relax. The restaurant are a really nice place to sit and relax. We ate almost all our lunches in the restaurant and it tasted good. In the evening we wanted to eat somewhere else. If you want to eat at another restaurant the nearest is a good 10 min walk on a road with no lighting, so bring your flashlight. With full moon and the fire flies it is a really beautiful road to walk at night.

Even though we loved our stay there are some flaws that you should be aware of:

- We got poor info at check in and especially when there are no info in the room about breakfast hours, check out time, etc.

- There is no refrigerator in the room

- It is very far from any convenient store. You will have to take a taxi or rent a bike.

- The shower is a joke! There is hardly any pressure and it is impossible to get the right temperature ( either too hot or too cold).

- The beach is very calm and quiet in the weekdays but when the weekend came the place got swarmed with italians. We think that there must live italians nearby because most of them were not guests at the hotel. A little hard to get a sunbed those days.

- Overall the service in the restaurant is excellent. The staff is going above and beyond regarding service. However, it sometimes felt that they were under staffed and this shows at breakfast. It can take forever to get your breakfast ( you choose from a menu). A better system or more people would probably solve the problem.

Overall we loved our stay at Rosa del Viento. If they just fix some of the "minor" flaws they will get a 5 star review from me.

We were not able to get out of NY on 2/14/14 due to snow. Our reservations were for 2/14/14 to 2/17/14. The next flight we were able to get was for Wednesday 2/19/14. They would not even give a partial refund. In fact they already took the whole amount out of the charge account as soon as they knew we would not be able to make the trip. They wanted to give us a credit, but we told them we did not want a credit as we would not be able to return to Tulum. Be careful when dealing with these people. After reading the cancelation policy it said a 50% refund would be given if a no show then they turn around and change the policy to a credit. There was no mention about a credit only 50% return. SHAME, SHAME SHAME ON YOU. HASTA LA VISTA MEXICO

We hadn't made a reservation. Just arrived to check if they had availability which the friendly receptionist did and found a CLEAN, spacious and nicely decorated cabana. There are even robes! The only two things I would change is the funny water smell and salty taste. Also, most of the cabanas don't have ocean view which upset us at the beginning but it is really just a few steps away. They do have a beautiful beach with no rocks in front or ocean grass unlike other hotels there. Also they have plenty of lounge chairs, mattresses and hammocks to use when you are at the beach.
All the staff is great. Despite not having a reservation they were welcoming and made welcome drinks for us as soon as we were in our room. We would definitely go back !

The beach is really amazing and they did a very good job with the beach chairs, matrasses and hammocks. And there's even wifi on the beach (although not at the best speed sometimes). Breakfast was good, cabins are nice and spacious and the restaurant seemed to be a nice place to hang out during the day if the weather is off (they have books and games). We asked if we could order a pizza to eat at the beach under the amazing sky full of stars, it was wonderfull!.

There was however room for improvement. We were dropped off by a taxi and it took us a while to find the reception; a sign would be helpful! The rooms are very basic and the water smells a bit funny sometimes. In December it gets dark very early (around 5) and it is not really an option to walk to restaurants or bars, you should take a taxi. The owners also have a dog that runs around freely at the beach, don't really like that.

Stumbled across this lovely place by chance. Spent a lovely day on the beach using the hotel's beach club. It was reasonably priced for a day and we were able to use our deposit (for sun beds and palapa) against food and drink consumption.

We really enjoyed the day here and found the beach club and amenities to a high standard. It was great to have the option of eating on the beach or heading to their open restaurant. The only thing was service was very slow! We waiting a long time to get a menu, then waited some more to get our order taken and then waited some more to get our food. It was a bit annoying, but the staff were very apologetic and friendly, which compensated a little for waiting.

I would go back and would recommend it. I just hope they work on service a bit more. Other than that, a beautiful place to spend the day on the beach.
