we had an amazing week staying at La Zebra- the beach setting is beautiful and the food at the restaurant delicious!

a few years ago we'd visited Tulum for a few days and had tried out a number of bars and restaurants along the beach - La Zebra was our favourite and so when we had the opportunity to come back to Tulum for a week it was an obvious choice as a place to stay. Very happy to report that the staff were even friendlier than we remembered and the food still fantastic and good value.

Thanks to the whole team for making our stay so fantastic - I would not hesitate to recommend La Zebra

The perfect antidote to stress. With its character and mesmerizing beach, Tulum is already a winner. Laid-back La Zebra compliments the amazing setting with funky yet comfortable accommodations, attentive staff and a fabulous restaurant with a well balanced menu that highlights Yucatan specialties. All ingredients are super fresh and dishes are consistant, authentic and delicious.

the genuine concern of our hosts, Hernan, Lina and Miriam were key to a memorable 7-day vacation:
Concierge Hernan touched based with us prior to our arrival to ensure our expectations were met, had all kinds of suggestions and made several carefully selected arrangements for perfect day activities.
We had a hard time staying away from Lina's kitchen. We tried other restaurants that were recommended by friends (like Ana & Jose) but the flavors at Lina's were far superior. One afternoon we found her tasting "chicharron prensado" (not in the menu) and she sent a couple of tacos for us to try. Absolutely heavenly. Thanks Lina!
We were happy to be on Miriam's hands. She took care of every request during our stay, every detail with caution and ease.

There is free WiFi at the restaurant and if you are an early riser (well worth watching the sunrise), a large coffee pot is set up early in the morning. By 8am, a basket with freshly squeezed OJ and coffee is delivered to the room.

No a/c nor TV. They are not needed since there is plenty of sea breeze and nature to watch. There was a mini fridge in our room with bottled water and we chilled wine to sip in the evenings.

If you are not into touristy-commercial activities, ask Hernan for trully one-of-a-kind eco experiences, he knows!

Room Tip: Get a beach front bungalow or larger suite. Smaller bungalows may be a bit too intimate for some people. Make sure to book airpor/hotel transfers through the Concierge to avoid the confusion created by the vacation-ownership people at the airport who prettend they are authorized airport transportation. You may want to stop at the supermarket (Soriana or Chedrahui) on your way from the aiport to buy drinks (other than water) to keep in your room. Food is so good at the restaurant that any snack will go to waste. If you forget toiletries, ask the Front Desk to get them for you.

Just got back from being in a wedding at the beach in front of La Zebra. We had a very pleasant stay and the concierge was extremely helpful with all of our needs. We would definitely go back!

My husband and I just returned from La Zebra after an incredible time there. We brought 30 of our closest friends and family to La Zebra for our wedding and stayed about a week. I have been working with the staff at La Zebra for a year and a half now with the planning. I am very impressed with how everything turned out and how wonderful our experiences were at La Zebra.

La Zebra Rooms: We rented out nearly the entire hotel, and every guest I spoke to had great things to say about their accommodations. My husband and I stayed in the Master Suite—it is AMAZING! Two gorgeous rooms separated by a hallway that leads out to an outdoor tub and lounge area. Fantastic! I would highly recommend anyone to stay there as long as they can! I had a chance to go in many of the other rooms as well. They are all very nice. The Beach Shack is SUPER plush! I would add that staying on the jungle side does increase your chance of encountering jungle creatures, not a big deal, but good to know!

La Zebra for Weddings: As for hosting the wedding there, it was an excellent choice. The set up of the hotel is great and perfect for such an event. The food is AMAZING and the staff is wonderful. While there were a few changes and minor bumps along the long road of planning the wedding there (the nature of planning a wedding by email!), everything was amazing in the end! Lina is wonderful to work with and all the staff there are super responsive to email and as accommodating as possible. We chose the shaman ceremony—words can’t describe how incredible of an experience it was. Charlie and Maria are amazing and their ceremony is magical. Every one of our guests thought it was the best ceremony they had ever seen.

La Zebra Restaurant: Amazing! Most of our guests ate breakfast at the hotel every morning. I think by the end we had tried almost everything on the menu—it is all so scrumptious! Fresh ingredients, unique dishes, great flavors. They also have the best cappuccinos in Tulum, in my opinion. We also had several dinners, lunches, and snacks at the restaurant. Everything is hands-down delicious, from the guacamole to the soups to the entrees. You can’t go wrong. Possibly the best part is the staff, they are super attentive and offer great customer service.

La Zebra Staff: Exceptional. The staff at La Zebra is what really made our experience so wonderful. Everyone there does their very best to make sure you are taken care of. As a group with a big event, we had more needs than the average guest, and they were amazing every step of the way. When we arrived they were the staff and when we left they were our friends—seriously, we look forward to the next time we can go down there so we can see them again! The staff is so resourceful, patient and helpful, they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Talk to Hernan, he is the best!

If we had to do it all over again, we would have done it exactly the same way (I might have stressed about the planning less, I should have known everything would work out perfectly!). We can’t wait to come back to La Zebra again!

Room Tip: Go for a room on the beach side so the waves can lull you to sleep and greet you in the morning.
