We had our destination wedding at La Zebra and everything was absolutely amazing. I cannot stress how happy we were enough! It is beautiful, clean, safe, secure, and the service is outstanding. Lina took such good care of us from the welcome reception at El Pez (the cocktails are inventive and unique with a true city flair) to the special cake she ordered us as a gift. I would do it all over again and we plan on going back year after year for our anniversary. At one point during our dinner I just started crying I was so happy! We cannot say THANK YOU enough!

My wife and I recently had our destination wedding at the beautiful La Zebra Hotel, and couldn't be happier with everything about the entire weekend! Our coordinator, Lena, went above and beyond in providing us with the ultimate wedding experience that really spoke to our laid back style and sometimes quirky or last minute requests! She even managed to arrange a civil judge to officially marry us within just two weeks of our big day! Everyone at the hotel, from Chabeli and Grace at the Concierge, to Fernando and the entire restaurant and hotel staff, took amazing care of us and ALL of our guests (some of whom weren't even staying at La Zebra). The folks at partner hotels El Pez and Mezzanine were also incredibly generous and kind. They got to know us all by first name and went out of their way to make sure each guest was satisfied with their rooms, food, drinks, and general comfort! My mother, who is handicapped, was well looked after every step of the way (literally). To the review stating they were burglarized, the exact opposite happened with us (perhaps they have addressed this issue with a rogue staff member), but my wife left her purse there when we changed to our honeymoon location, and we picked it up the next day (with everything still in there). If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Speaking of the food and drink, everything was incredible, from breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared fresh to order, to the outstanding drinks and much needed strong coffee!

The location is idyllic, right on the water with the white sand beaches facing the rising sun! The rooms are rustic, beautiful, clean, and well appointed... just what we needed to relax. All of our friends enjoyed every minute, whether on the beach, at the restaurant, or relaxing in their rooms. The only complaint we ended up having was an issue out of the hotel's control, when a neighbor started some construction and caused La Zebra to have to close their nicest room down (hence we stayed elsewhere for our honeymoon).

We can't thank the staff enough for everything they did to make our wedding absolutely perfect! Stay here, marry here, heck... live here if you can!

Room Tip: If you want the best rooms, go for ocean view, not just beach side (which is referring to which side...

We spent 4 days at La Zebra in January. Could have enjoyed it more. Lodging, food, beach, staff were wonderful. Beach was not at all crowded even at this prime time - and the weather was wonderful. It is a bit out of the way, but not too much and definitely worth the effort.

Room Tip: We were on the beach side and it was fine. Some evenings the music is loud, but it ends at 11 pm an...

We came here for a few days to get away from the hustle of Playa del Carmen (BPM festival) and what an ahhhhh moment... the minute we walked in we instantly felt so much better. The staff was so welcoming and continued all during the stay.. not just during the first impression that they know you are paying close attention to. the food on their menu is great, but not a huge selection.. I admit we got a little bored after the 3rd day... would be better if they had daily specials or mixed it up a little but hey you're on the beach and living like you always dream of when you are work all day... no shoes, great morning coffee, your beachfront palapa, very comfy beds and the maids are really sweet. I had a sweatshirt that got wet, ours even ironed it for me to get it dry faster... We loved our stay and will come back for sure.. and yes our souls got refreshed!

DO NOT STAY HERE! We were burglarized at midnight by the STAFF, and forced to walk down a dark street to another hotel because NO ONE HELPS YOU WHEN YOU KEEP SAYING POLICE!!! ...Sure, this appears to be a beautiful hotel, BUT when you go have drinks at the bar, THE HOTEL STAFF USES A KEY AND BURGLARIZES YOUR ROOM!! We came back to our room and found that my LAPTOP, iPHONE, and CAMERA were stolen by someone WITH A KEY TO OUR ROOM!! I had to cancel my credit card because they wouldn't even refund my money. All they said was 'Sorry.' WARN ANYONE WHO WANTS TO STAY HERE. It REALLY put a damper on our Mexico vacation. HIPHOTEL is good, and is very close by. Also good is Papaya Playa for a night club, Zamas for a good restaurant, and Cafe Banana for another good restaurant. Wish I would've read this review before I planned my trip to Tulum. Good luck! As long as you don't stay here, you should have a good time.

We deeply regret the experience that you had with us. Whilst we do not believe that this was an in house job, please be assured that we are fully investigating the event and leaving no stone unturned. We do have security measures in place however through this recent incident we are looking much more closely at where we need to improve.

Stayed for 10 nights - we would have booked 14 nights but there is a 10 night maximum. Lovely beach side cabana, simple but charming. Food was good, beach was nice and staff friendly. Great holiday. Bed was a bit hard and pillows could be better quality....

Room Tip: Beach side!

My wife and I stayed in the blue cabanas right next to the beach. Everything about La Zebra was magical and infused with the spirit of Tulum beach. Chabely, Grace, Miriam (the concierges), Jan and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. It is in a great location for walking north or south on the beach which we did every morning. We can't wait to go back !!!!

Room Tip: If you love to hear the surf while you sleep, go with cabanas # 1.
