This place is all about the beach. There were plenty of available beach chairs when I was there, the security guards patrolled day & night, the all-inclusive beach bar opened at 10 am, & the hotel staff had many activities going on the beach throughout the day. The beach itself is beautiful, secluded and quiet.

The reception staff were very pleasant & multilingual, using Spanish, French & Italian with guests. The waitstaff in the restaurants were very attentive, & the cleaning staff were reliable & efficient. No problems at all with my third-party website reservation, & the room was ready immediately when I arrived in the evening. I was greeted at the front desk with a cocktail.

My friends stayed at another Tulum-adjacent, all-inclusive resort & paid over 2x as much per night. From their account of their stay, I feel like I got the better value at Pavo Real.

This is not your Cancun variety, American style mega resort. The majority of the guests were Italian tourists. The remainder were European or Latino. I did not encounter a single American during my stay.

I only dined in the main restaurant near the lobby. The buffet was decent by all-inclusive standards and had an Italian influence. Vegetarian options were always available too.

Free wifi worked in the lobby only, but for a small fee you can get paid access in your room. The free service was more than sufficient for my needs.

Parking is also free & in a secure, fenced & guarded area.

I have read other reviews complaining about thin walls in the hotel rooms. My experience was less about the walls & more about the interior doors. If you get a room that has a shared interior door with another unit (common for families who want to rent 2 adjoining units), you will be able to hear your neighbors through the shared interior door. However, I spent most of my time outside, so this did not bother me.

Some tips: The resort is an easy drive from the main strip of the village of Tulum & from the Tulum Mayan ruins. The main highway to Cancun & the airport is very modern, well-lit, & extremely well policed. Just be cautious of frequent speed bumps.

Overall, I enjoyed my relaxing stay a great deal & would definitely recommend the resort.

The only good thing was it was at the beach, it was actually a nice resort but..

Ufff.. where to start..
Unbelievable arrogant receptionists..
If you come earlier, they wont let u checkin earlier
Dont put your luggage in the luggage room - they store in there garbage - I am not kidding!

The food was ok, we stayed just 1 night and the lunch was 90percent same as dinner.

Over all, wouldnt stay here again.

Dear Michaelmyshu, thank you for spending your time with this review.
About our beach, yes it’s really nice and the Resort is nice too!
About the check-in time we’re sorry for misunderstanding, but it’s from 3:00 pm and check-out time is by noon. If you come earlier you’ve to notice it and, as you can understand, the room couldn’t be available because occupied by the previous guest. Our baggage room is as clean as all the Resort. Are you maybe alluding to the material of painting stowed in a corner of the room, but so far from the baggages?
In just one night we think it’s a bit difficult to give a right value to any Resort or Hotel!

Only two restaurants, but food much above average for an all inclusive. They have an Italian chef and there was a different preparation of fish each night, and all were excellent. Good A/C which is important to me. Always enough lounge chairs on beach. This resort is very close to Dreams, beach is the same--nice and sandy, but when swimming, sandy areas are more limited. Lot's of fish and Pelicans constantly diving to catch them. Everyone very nice. No time share pestering. Guests mostly European or Mexican--didn't meet anyone else from US. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is that rooms and pools are not as big as some of the resorts, but for value it can't be beat. Didn't use fitness center or spa, so no rating.

Room Tip: We had garden view room, which are same size as beach view rooms and just as nice.

We have just returned from Pavo Real beach resort after a much needed relaxing weeks break .

The resort really is on the beach with our room having an ocean view.

We were all inclusive and enjoyed a wide variety of meat, fish and veg options at every meal. The food was good quality and presented to a high standard . The restaurant staff were helpful and provided a consistently high level of service .

The "animation" team work hard to offer sports, yoga and dancing lessons daily on the beach but do so in a low key way - you could just lie in the sun and enjoy the beach if you wished . Also provided was an evening show .

The rooms were clean and well equipped. We had tv , air con, and great walk in shower in the bathroom a huge double bed and a balcony with a hammock .

There is a small shop on site to get basics and Tulum town is a ten minute taxi ride away ( 200 pesos) . Taxis are available at the hotel .

The resort had 2 very nice swimming pools and 2 beach bars open throughout the day and evening.

So overall an excellent resort, fabulous beach and great food . Highly recommended
