This hostel is well located, about 3 blocks north of the ADO bus stop. Be careful if using google maps to locate the hostel as the hostel has relocated and google maps still showed the address at the time of writing this review.

Beds were basic but comfortable enough. Staff were good though there were some occasional language barriers. Wifi was the fastest I've had in Central America so far but mainly only worked in the lobby and occasionally in my room (which was directly above the lobby).

Overall a decent place to spend a few nights while exploring Tulum though that's all it is.

During our 2-week trip we stayed there twice.

First time, we came from the cabanas by the seaside, and after ants invasion and a leaking roof with the rain dripping straight onto our mattress in the middle of the night, Weary Traveler really felt like an improvement.

First room they showed us, was upstairs with no window and so we took one downstairs next to the pool. They promised us warm water, but it was a mere cold dripping. Still, they were very helpful and came to fix the problem right away. Second time there, in another room it was still the same problem, but by that time I was used to the cold water already, so I let it go :D But I have no doubt, that had I asked, they would've helped us.

Rooms: had all the basics, clean, beds were comfy (stayed in two different rooms on the ground floor). The fan on our first stay was working so loud that we had to turn it off for the night. Was hot, but we survived.

After booking the room, we had to wait both times for them to be cleaned.

Second time staying we were smarter and took a room away from the dining area because of the noise, people chatting. The "quiet hours" aren't regulated, so when you are a light sleeper, you have to book a room away from the kitchen.

Pool: I personally saw people swimming in it, dipped my legs in there, too. Didn't seem dirty, a nice touch in the middle of the city center either way, when the sea is further away.
Also the hammocks with the lounge chairs are a nice place to relax in the sun outside the room.

Kitchen: ingredients for an efficient breakfast were all there to use freely. Coffee was great, people considerate and helpful. Maybe it'd help a little, if the *travelers* would wash up after themselves more.

Location: being block away from the main street, it has its perks. Not far from eating places, gift shops, walking distance away from bigger stores.

My wife is very sorry that there are no salsa lessons anymore, she would've enjoyed them.

Overall: place has it's perks, especially when you enjoy meeting new people during your trip, staff is helpful. We'd recommend the place to easy-going travelers, who are on a budget and/or need a place to stay in between other activities rather than spending their time in the hostel.

Room Tip: Rooms further away from the dining area are quieter.

My original reservation was with another hostal, which was dismal. The manager there graciously suggested Weary Traveler as a possibility. In the positive: the crowd there was relaxed and helpful, there was a separate non-smoking lounge area, the pool was clean and a welcome escape, wifi worked and the private room was large and came with much needed AC. On the downside: the shower was a mere trickle, the kitchen was forever filthy and it was noisy at night. The breakfast offered a lot of variety and was a cook-it-your-self deal. Good coffee!

We stayed here as everywhere else was full. It has apparently recently moved location- there were men still finishing the roof (!) and the pool was filthy and not in use.
We had a private room with a slightly separate bathroom in the corner- when we tried the shower it didn't even work!!
The staff were helpful and got it working, it was nice and warm.
We left our key with reception for the room to be cleaned (quite dirty) and when we returned from our day we found that our room had been left open?!! Luckily our valuables were locked in the locker they provided so nothing was missing. But they were not apologetic at all.
The only saving grace of this place is its location and the amazing breakfast of cereal, toast, coffee, eggs and pancakes which you make yourself.
Otherwise I would avoid this place in favour of the several more highly reviewed places in the area.

Nice relaxed chilled out vibe. Kitchen with good facilities and free breakfast which is brilliant- variety of cereals, eggs, toast and coffee to help yourself to.
Rooms basic but fine and air conditioning was great.
Brilliant location just off the main road and not far from the beach and cenotes- can get cheap collectivo, rent bikes or even just walk (half an hour or so to beach).
Pool not really in use which is a shame but the hammocks were cool to chill in.
Man in reception called Angel was really nice and helpful! :)
