Wife and I stayed practically for free by trading into the resort thru out timeshare. That said, it was totally acceptable to me. Had we paid the regular rates, I would have been disappointed to the point of anger. But overall I left with a sense of satisfaction and will look back on this as a pretty decent vacation.
The rooms were nice and more than adequate although the Jacuzzi tub was unusable because it took FOREVER to fill and then only with water the color of tea. Yuck-ish. The grounds and amenities were decent although if you are keen on beach access you will have to leave the property or go to the sister beach club down the road.
The food was actually not bad despite what other reviewers have said. The Mexican food is pretty authentic and my wife and I are huge fans of MOLCAJETE. They have that down pat. The Italian menu is pretty good too.
The staff, while very friendly to those who tip (and this seems to be very rare at this resort, they practically fought with each other to serve us our meals once word got around that we tipped) seem a little under-motivated. I would have loved to see better service around the pool and at the cabanas.
In closing: this was a nice place to get some adults-only, peace and quiet. The food works and the facilities are above average. In Tulum resorts of this size with these amenities are rare, so you take the bad with the good. If you have to pay full-fare to go here, be wary.

Room Tip: The ocean front/view rooms are not worth the increase in price.

Peaceful place - not more than 1 week stay (maybe too peaceful.....) we knew there is no direct access to sea, but we espect agreement between hotel and Playa Parayso would be better - menus after couples of days become boring - some of the dishes are just ''good looking'' (quantity of food negligible) but no taste (or strange taste, like most of suppose to be Italian food)

I chose Kore for a long weekend with my husband to unwind with no kids. We were able to get a great rate though a trade with our timeshare company, so it saved us some money. It is important to note the savings because my review would be much worse had I paid full price. It was an okay trip, but we probably will not return.

Things to know before booking: no beach access directly from hotel, but great views if you are a pool person. Great cabanas, but no service at them or pool. No wifi in rooms, but free wifi in lobby and lobby bar.

Pros: Food not as bad as some of the bad reviews. It was quite good, and if you end up not liking something you can order something else (joy of all-inclusive). Rooms are large and well equipped. Lots of cabanas and seats at pool. Food ala carte, even though we were told breakfast and lunch were buffet.
Cons: Jacuzzi in room did not work (slow trickle of brown water would not fill tub). No one on same page at resort and times of restaurant/bars not 100% observed. Very few employees have a "can do" or "above and beyond" service attitude. This may be due to the all-inclusive system. Resort could improve significantly with super simple implementation of service and bar training.

This was a virtually free trip for us as we used miles for airline and timeshare for room (although we had to pay an all-inclusive rate). Had I paid $1K for airline tickets and $2-3K to stay here for 5 days I would have been extremely disappointed. Side note: another reviewer mentioned their room being broken into...not sure what is going on with this, but when we were taking a nap a person walked right into our room using a card key for entry. It was someone that said that they were a guest next door and their key was not working in their door, so she decided to try another. This is fishy to me, and did not see that "guest" before or after this happened.

Dear Mrs. azmeg:

Thank you for your perception of our services, we are glad to know that your trip came out to be a free trip, as you saw, we are not the regular buffet oriented all inclusive, I am intrigued were this miss information was given to you, to clear it.

The only thing about this Hotel/Resort is how it looks. The Food & Drinks were Disgusting no matter how many Times you try to give it a chance to improve hoping The Chef has changed. We were there for 6 nights and every time we hoped the food would be better we had to get up and leave as it was so bad. Such a waste of our hard earned $$$$$ especially since it was All Inclusive. Not even breakfast was decent - no toast, no bacon, nasty coffee, juices with sugar added , even yogurt. Different menu but Asian menu had canned potatoes cooked as a curry yuck, crab fried rice with fake crab and soy sauce, sushi - where is the fish more like rice and cream cheese I can go on and on. Service was pleasant with female staff and helpful, most of the male staff at Concierge seemed irritated and angry should get different job probably, Most servers seemed pleasant not their fault they are made to serve such horrible food. No access to beach, false infor about discount to beach club they will drop you off at. leaking ceiling in bathroom . Huge bathtub that takes probably whole day to fill quite unnecessary.Cant get bottle water other than at pool bar. so many other beautiful places in Tulum to stay at with fabulous food and Services.

Mrs. mithilarajapakse:

We do respect your comments and percepction of our services, as well we feel truly sorry that none of over 250 dishes were of your satisfaction.
Our bath tubs take 40 minutes to fill in, we know they are slow, it is a construction issue.
All our staff comes to work every day, convinced to give the best they have for our guest, as well, as I wrote above, it is your perception of it.
