“PARADISE”
Reviewed 5 November 2007

We saw a lot of review on this place and we decided that we needed to spend there sometime. Is not so cheap as the other places we stayed but it really worth as it is like Paradise.
The location is simply outstanding, room was so big very clean and right in front of the Caribbean sea.
When we got there our room, cabana 4, was not ready yet so we took the opportunity to eat some good food in the little restaurant and then went to the beach. Wow!!!!! Incredible white sand beach and beautiful sea, the water was so clean and warm that it was almost impossible to resist.
During the night you could hear the wind that was blowing on the palms and the ocean waves….it was really magic!!!!
Tita is a great person, and also her staff is friendly and willing to help. Food in the little restaurant is great and not expensive at all.
Stars in the night are wonderful, everything is dark and you can enjoy an incredible sky from the room terrace. Will go back again.

We have stayed at 'Tita Tulum' for the past six years during our son's February vacation and we have just loved it. In fact we are heading down again, for a 7th trip to Tita's. We have always found the cabanas clean, the showers hot, and the staff friendly. The white sand beaches and warm water make for a very relaxing vacation along with many other fun activities and Mayan ruins to see in the area.

There is no air conditioning at Tita's, but with the breeze from the ocean, we have never needed air conditioning, nor have we ever missed having a TV. While I can't say that Tita's is a rustic place by any means, it is also not your big-time resort type of place, which is why we have enjoyed it so much. In fact during the first four years we were down, the road down to Tita's was still a dirt road. Only in the last few years, have they paved the road all the way down to the entrance of the Sian Ka'an jungle.

The food in the restaurant has been great, with an interesting mix of a couple of Mayan dishes. The cost of a dinner at Tita's tends to be what it would be here in California if heading out Chevy's for instance. And the margaritas at Tita's are some of the best that I have had.

If anyone is heading down to Tulum and has any questions about the area, feel free to email us (our email is included when we registered as a member for Trip advisor.) We can't say enough good things about Tita Tulum!

We were supposed to stay at Tita Tulum from Aug 17th to 22th, but unfortunately we had to leave two nights after our arrival because of the Hurricane Dean.

The two nights and three days we spend there were wonderful! The room (cabana 7) was very clean, with a king bed and mosquito net (didn’t used it) the bathroom spacious and stylish. Clean white towels every day. No problems with the salt water, you only notice when it occasionally drop in your mouth. Before check in we were worried about it been rustic etc… but the cabana seems to be new, it’s not that rustic and it’s very comfortable with plenty of space, simple & charming wood furniture.
The beach in front the hotel is very beautiful with small waves and white sand. They provide beach (long) chairs and towels.

For those that are in doubt between the pueblo and the beach, here is my opinion: There is nothing better than wake up in the morning and face this amazing blue sea only a few steps from your room.

The weather was so nice with lots of sun, some clouds, very hot and a constant wind. During the day, we never stayed inside the room but that breeze was enough to chill and the ceiling fan helped. We prefer the hammocks in front of the room or the beach. At night, there were 2 big storms, a little scaring but soooooooooo refreshing.
We only had breakfast once at Tita and it was ok for us as we are not used to eat in the morning. There are others restaurants/hotels for breakfast in walking distance, at night, in my opinion, a car is the better way to come and go to others places and restaurants.
The staff was great, very helpful in all occasions even when they told us we had to evacuate the city due to the hurricane. They returned all the money we’d paid in advanced for the rest of our stay.
We enjoyed so much Tita Tulum, so sad we had to leave before planned, but had a great time while in there. Next time we absolutely going to stay at Tita’s again.

Just got back from 8 days at Tita's, May 19 - 27. We stayed in Cabana #5 directly on the beach. The room was quite large, 2 queen beds, a table and plenty of space. There was also a seperate closet area and huge bathroom with large shower.

The beach is immaculate here, and the staff friendly and prompt. The restaurant had great food and service. Ninfa was an angel, always friendly and attentive.

Our stay at Tita Tulum was everything we hoped it would be and more, when perchance we stopped in for breakfast last year and decided to come back and stay here. We will be back for future stays right here, where we feel "at home".

I returned to Tita Tulum in April 2007. It was just as awesome as before. It's just so peaceful and relaxing and beautiful, a little slice of paradise. I went alone this time but socialized a little with the staff and other guests and felt like part of a family. I think Tita's food is just great, so maybe those who don't think so have palates that are numbed the processed food of their daily lives. I don't know. (I'm a health nut and eat all organic at home.) Anyway, Tita's wonderful food and service fit right in with the rest of the place. The best word I have to describe Tita's is "harmonious". Everything "fits", which may not be understandable to all. I looked at even more places while I was there, and it still boils down to Tita Tulum...at least for me according to what I'm looking for.

I have already booked my next trip for November, with friends this time, who also can't wait to re-visit TIta Tulum. If you have questions about the place or about the area, feel free to contact me. Check back at the site, because tripadvisor doesn't seem to notify you when you receive messages on the site.

We stayed at Tita Tulum last week for three nights. Although the beach was beautiful (choppy waves, though), the room was really nothing special. It seemed more like a motel 6 room than a mayan riviera room. During this same trip we also stayed at Posada Dos Ceibas, Posada Del Sol and Cabanas La Conchita, and Tita Tulum's room was by far the worst. Just boring.

We stayed in room number 3, and like what others have written, it wasn't very private. We didn't mind, though, we just shut the drapes. The best part of the room was the patio- it had two hammocks with a great view of the beach so my husband and I didn't have to fight over who got to use the hammock :).

The food wasn't very good at Tita, and quite expensive. The drinks were great- especially the pina coladas and lemonade.

We didn't even think it was worth taking pictures of the interior of the room, because we didn't think we would ever look at them- sorry!

Bottom line- not a very good value for the money.

The man, the boy, age 10, and I stayed at Tita Tulum April 1-8, and it couldn't have been better. Because it was Easter week AND spring break, almost every cabana had at least one child -- thus giving the boy a plethora of kids his own age to play with. But don't worry if you're heading there hoping for some privacy: I'm told that the abundance of kids was, indeed, due to spring break. There are now 10 cabanas or rooms: No. 5 is the closest to the beach, the all of them are just steps away. We were in No. 8, one of the largest, with two double beds, a sofa bed, a shelving unit, a table and two chairs, a closetlike alcove and a big and nice bathroom. The cabana was kept impeccably clean (and most days we were left towel animals). The porch had two hammocks, two chairs and a wonderful breeze. Tit'as runs on solar electricity and has power 24 hours a day. There was plenty of light for reading, but don't expect to find any power outlets. I heard generator noice, once, from next door. A pitcher of fresh water was provided daily but we supplemented that with lots of bottled water, too (We bought a cooler and kept it filled with ice/beverages) There are always plenty of hot water (it was sunny every day). The waves were large, but swimming was still wonderful. The white sand beach was cleaned daily and stretches for miles. This is the PRIMO beach spot. The restaurant was good -- lot of seafood -- and we especially liked to have breakfast there. Some of the staff spoke English well (waiters); some spoke none at all (the maid). Prices for the restaurant and cabanas were right in line with many of the other places on the beach.
Don't go here if you can't handle some degree of rustic (like brushing teeth with bottled water; slightly salty showers and no hair dryers). We love "roughing" it a bit and had an absolutely wonderful time. It made a great base for exploring the beach road, town, ruins, everything. It was great to be lulled to sleep by the waves, too. I highly recommend it.
