Boutique hotel with pool right on the beach. Lovely atmosphere, nicely decorated rooms. Meals were delicious. No air conditioning but wonderful ocean breezes; no electricity during daylight. Great service from staff. We liked it better than the all inclusive resorts in Playa.

Stayed here for 5 nights in July. We had a lovely little bungalow that had direct access from our balcony to the sand. Very private location with amazing views to the turquoise Caribbean. Rooms are nicely decorated with ceiling fans and mosquito nets. Bathroom is clean and functional.

There are only about a dozen rooms here which makes it feel like you are staying at a private home. We barely saw anyone else other than the staff the whole 6 days. Nice little pool next to a raised restaurant providing views down to the sea. The chef here is amazing, so much effort goes into every little beautiful morsel of food that is fed to you. We went fishing one day, organised through Mexi Divers and I brought back a Mahi Mahi. The chef prepared it for our dinner in an amazing sauce and accompanied with fresh local veggies. Yum!

We also had the luck of turning up during turtle egg laying season. On the second night we ventured out onto the beach at around 10pm, not 20 meters from our room there was a massive old girl laying her eggs in the sand. I feel very lucky to have experienced that.

Overall I would go back to Suenos & would recommend it to friends if they were after a quiet break. If you are after somewhere with a bit of atmosphere or social activities then maybe try somewhere else.

Room Tip: Go for the more expensive with beach access!

Were here about 5 years ago and never forgot Suenos and the family who runs it. Gave us a special room with our own beach chairs so we could choose to sunbathe there or on the beach. Service is always excellent, with daily room service. Jorge is always busy improving and updating Suenos. The wait staff was truly wonderful and always on the lookout if we needed lunch or an afternoon drink on the beach. Enjoyed our daily breakfast of fruit, coffee, juice, freshly-made yogurt and granola. A basket of breads and pastries kept us full to dinnertime most days. Had their grilled fish with Lime one night, and the grilled fish with Garlic and butter the next night; both were very good. Suenos is probably the best-run hotel in Tulum, and the family - Elisabeth, Giovanna, et al, are lovely. Will miss them!

Room Tip: All rooms have ocean view but second floor rooms probably offer slightly better view.

We had booked to stay here for 2 nights but after 5 minutes had extended our stay for an additional 2 nights. The hotel is beautiful, intimate and really well designed. We stayed in a master suite so were on the top floor (each building has 3 rooms; 1 on each floor) and had unobstructed ocean views. The room was decorated really nicely and the photos on the website and TA do not do either the rooms or the hotel justice.

Electricity is only available at night and early morning but there is a charging station in the main reception so wasn't really an issue. The bathroom amenties were organic and better standard that the usual. The bed was very comfortable but a bit soft for me, probably not an issue for most people. They provide bottles of water each day and beach towels and beach pillows as well. Every little thing has been thought of.

The beach was pretty much deserted most of the time so we got to enjoy the huge daybeds and had lunch one day on the beach (fish tacos, delicious) and it is kept pristine. The water is rough there but fine for a dip and a play in the waves.

At night it felt like we were on the set of Survivor with all the lights and torches everywhere. Absolutely beautifully done. We ate there every night as I was very tired and happy just to relax. There isn't a lot of choice but we did enjoy the food and the service was great. The setting is just lovely, so if relaxing is what you want to do then you can't go past this.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough - it's in the best part of Tulum, in my humble opinion, at the quieter end of the beach, and it is simply stunning. Can't fault one thing and was very upset to leave! Will be back for sure.

Room Tip: Master suites on the top floor have the best views but any room would be great.

Firstly let's get the positives: really nice room (master suite), balcony with beautiful view, good bathroom & shower, friendly staff, quiet and beautiful beach location. Negatives: the dining area is so uncomfortable; the dinner menu was poor (lunch was better), food heavy and overpriced. We decided to eat at the next door hotel (Hip Hotel) instead, which was more expensive, but delicious. All in all - beach is beautiful and quiet, rooms are nice, food & restaurant comfort is very poor.
