What can i say about Suenos that hasn't already been said, from the moment we arrived at Suenos it was pure bliss. The setting was beautiful, the family were wonderful, and the whole ambiance of the place was extremely unique. This is one is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable places I have ever stayed. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners and drinks overlooking the ocean, with nothing being too much trouble for the friendly staff. We tried Yoga in the studio and traditional mayan massages, both of which were fantastic. The rooms themselves were also beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. The whole experience was unforgettable and I can't wait to return, it's as close to paradise as you'll get.

Back for a second visit; stayed here several years ago. Still operated by the same local family. The new hand-crafted reception building is quite a marvel in its own way. Great location, closer to the quieter south end, but a perfect starting point to explore the length of Tulum’s lovely beaches and lively bars and restaurants. Good food prepared just for guests. Back then, I wrote:

“With the comfortable, charming rooms channeling rhythmic seas and flowing breezes, the warmth, the salt air, the sheer brilliant beauty of the place, senses overflowed; pretense was stripped away, nature's energy imposed…The food was elegantly simple and tasteful, a perfect match to mood and setting… Staff were always accommodating but unobtrusive… Jorge and Elizabeth and their lovely family have invested of their life in this place, and it can be felt in everything."

Even as Tulum’s growth threatens its essence, Suenos stands guard on the simple charms. Still a true and lovely place.

Room Tip: The end units have a slight edge in privacy, but all are nice. No electrical outlets in rooms, but c...

We were staying up near Playa Del Carmen in a timeshare and decided to visit Tulum for a little side trip with an overnight stop. Decided on Suenos and are very happy with our decision. Facility is wonderful. Amazing beach with very unique places to lounge, like being on the front of a catamaran with a sail overhead to provide some shade. Great staff, with private restaurant just for the small number of guests, very good food at reasonable prices. We were treated like royalty. We had a 3rd level room, which gave us a spectacular views, especially at sunrise. Gusty breezes instead of A/C was a bit of an adventure, but the entire stay was very memorable.

Just returned from 4 night stay at Suenos Tulum. Great location along the coastal strip in Tulum with a beautiful white sandy beach at your doorstep. We had super friendly, attentive service from Mateus and Eduardo and Domingo produced fresh fish dishes for most of our lunches and dinners. Continental breakfast each morning was great with plenty of fresh fruits, breads and mexican pastries to start the day. No AC, but it was sufficiently cool and breezy that it didn't matter much during the evenings. The family that owns the hotel lives on site and they clearly take great pride in their home and business and treat their guests very well. We'll be back soon for sure. Thank you Suenos Tulum!!

Room Tip: 2nd floor room had amazing, unobstructed views of the ocean and fresh ocean breezes day and night. I...

Boutique hotel with pool right on the beach. Lovely atmosphere, nicely decorated rooms. Meals were delicious. No air conditioning but wonderful ocean breezes; no electricity during daylight. Great service from staff. We liked it better than the all inclusive resorts in Playa.

Stayed here for 5 nights in July. We had a lovely little bungalow that had direct access from our balcony to the sand. Very private location with amazing views to the turquoise Caribbean. Rooms are nicely decorated with ceiling fans and mosquito nets. Bathroom is clean and functional.

There are only about a dozen rooms here which makes it feel like you are staying at a private home. We barely saw anyone else other than the staff the whole 6 days. Nice little pool next to a raised restaurant providing views down to the sea. The chef here is amazing, so much effort goes into every little beautiful morsel of food that is fed to you. We went fishing one day, organised through Mexi Divers and I brought back a Mahi Mahi. The chef prepared it for our dinner in an amazing sauce and accompanied with fresh local veggies. Yum!

We also had the luck of turning up during turtle egg laying season. On the second night we ventured out onto the beach at around 10pm, not 20 meters from our room there was a massive old girl laying her eggs in the sand. I feel very lucky to have experienced that.

Overall I would go back to Suenos & would recommend it to friends if they were after a quiet break. If you are after somewhere with a bit of atmosphere or social activities then maybe try somewhere else.

Room Tip: Go for the more expensive with beach access!
