My husband and I were looking for a relaxing, romantic vacation with simple, laid back elegance and Mezzanine Hotel was the perfect fit. We were there for a week in early March and loved everything about it. The hotel is built up on a small cliff within steps of the beach. The landscaping at the hotel is beautiful and thoughtfully designed with lots of little nooks to hang out and relax in privacy. Our room (king suite with view) had a beautiful simplicity, a king sized bed with crisp white sheets and duvet cover, very comfortable and clean. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to a basket of fresh coffee outside our door every morning. A cool breeze off the water and ceiling fan made the room perfectly comfortable and pleasant at night, and there were screens on the windows to keep mosquitoes out. The staff both at reception and in the restaurant were incredibly friendly and sweet. The food and drinks at the restaurant were amazing - lots of fresh, healthy options including both Thai and Mexican dishes that were a welcome, light alternative to the versions I'm used to in the States. They use local, organic ingredients and even grow their own herbs. The margaritas and mojitos were delicious. I would absolutely recommend staying at Mezzanine and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: I would recommend a room with a view, because it was so heavenly to open the door in the morning and see the beautiful water. And order the huevos rancheros for breakfast!

After going to Cabanas La Luna and having to pay full amount, trying to get refund to leave after crappy conditions and being denied (even though their management lied in their response to my review on Trip Advisor), we ventured over to Mezzanine and opened our wallet for two nights of heaven. Go over Thanksgiving and is it more empty and you can get a deal perhaps. But anyway, what a nice place, fantastic rooms and soaking pool. The resto and drinks are amazing too. And fancy that, in the jungle but no mosquitos. Why why why is Cabanas La Luna ranked so high for Tulum when Mezzanine is so much better? Try the Mezzanine peeps!

Room Tip: If you can afford get either room 9 or 10 above the resto.

We stayed in the lower rooms without a view but nice breeze. It was actually nice to get away from the elements since we spent most of our days outdoors. The patio, bar, and restaurant (some of the best Thai food I've had) were wonderful and the service was friendly. Walking distance to the Ruins and a nice bike ride to the main strip.

Decided to spend one night at Mezzanine, a short bus ride from Playa, we wanted to experience the tranquility and amazing beaches of Tulum. Arriving much earlier than 3pm check in - the front desk was very accommodating in allowing us entry. A welcome mojito was immediately offered - nice touch. Mezzanine is set high on a bluff overlooking an expansive wide beach. Our room had a beautiful Zen decorative quality to it with a comfortable king bed, a large drape separated the bathroom. This lack of privacy would prevent us from re-booking this room category again. The food was amazing, the Tai restaurant for dinner was beautifully lit and created an exotic atmosphere. Though I booked and prepaid a portion on-line, upon check out you are charged an additional 5% if you pay balance of room on credit card. Beware this can be substantial if you stay for an extended stay & pay w/credit card. A visit into Tulum is worthwhile, taxi is cheap and pass by hotel frequently.

This is our second time at this amazing hotel. We stay in Room 10 which is huge and has an unbelievable terrace which looks down the whole gorgeous beach. Paradise! Great bed, great staff, great Thai food. But a recent management chain leaves one terrible flaw. They play really audible music from 9 AM til 10 PM and the deep bass thumping drove us nuts when we yearned for quiet and the sound of the waves. They need to decide if they want a cool restaurant scene or a hotel. No one liked the music. For this reason...and it is heartbreaking, we will not return if the music stays.

Room Tip: Room 9 is nice...room 10 is by far the best because of the amazing terrace with flawless ocean views.
