Mezzanine Colibri Boutique Hotel

I've been twice in Tulum and I must say Mezzanine is the place I come back to every time. It is the atmosphere, the people who works there, the food, the actual spot on the beach - simply wonderful! The Thai restaurant is utterly amazing - the food is made with so much love that you get addicted to it...we did try other place of course like PosadaMargharita where you have to wait like 1 hour in the queue, people shouting - no harmony whatsoever. Happily came back to dine in mezzanine.

When you take a walk along the beach to other hotels in tulum they are packed up to one another. Some people like that vibe of full time buzz of tourist activities, commercial markets etc. I enjoy the nature - the sea, the sunrise the sound of silence and that is all I've found in Mezzanine - pure bliss. And if you wish to do any activities the management team will always organise it for you - yoga class, kite surfing, snorkelling, massages. I did one to one Spanish classes at mezzanine so anything g you wish could be just done for you. Mezzanine tome was like my own home! It leaves you to your own space and the nature there is to indulge.

I really can't explain more in words how wonderful it is there you just have to go see it yourself.

Room Tip: Go for sea view rooms they are really great, otherwise if you are on honey moon room 9 it is trust m...

This hotel is small and intimate. It rests on a secluded part of Tulum beach. It is completely on the other end of the beach from the rows of hotels and restaurants.
It is a quick drive into town and a quick drive to local beach restaurants. It has its own very good Thai restaurant. It's perfect for midday lunch/happy hour. As well as dinner.
Literally steps from a beautiful portion of beach where you don't see the sand littered with beach chairs and umbrellas.
The staff is friendly and fairly attentive.
It was my first time in Tulum and we loved it. We would definitely stay here during our next visit!

Stayed first 3 nights of honeymoon here. Was initially concerned that restaurant might take over the place and while I would say it is an important part of what goes on, this spot manages to maintain a chill laid back atmosphere compared to rest of hotels in area.

As noted by others, this Mezzanine is located closer to Tulum ruins (approx. 25 min walk) but away from most of the other Tulum Beach Hotels. Further South, there is a cluster of hotels and what I would call the Tulum Scene, which Mezzanine does not seem to be a part of, in a good way. The great beach just steps from the hotel gets fewer people walking by which is a bonus. There are less places to eat in walking distance but cabs are about $5 one way to town or to the main cluster of Beach hotels further south. The only downside is that the bathroom does open into the room with no curtain separating it, and second although this place is chill, it does not offer complete privacy because even out on balcony people eating at restaurant can see you on your balcony. Food is good, staff is friendly and place maintains a more low key vibe than some of the other hotels in the main cluster further south. What I mean by that is there are less rooms here and less "Yoga" types from Los Angeles texting on their cell phone all day and pretending they are back in Malibu. While I appreciate that scene from time to time I like to escape from this sort of thing on vacation. You can escape from that sort of thing at Mezzanine.

This hotel also provides good value for the money, when taking into account amenities, beach access, food etc compared to other hotels in Tulum.

Room Tip: Master Suites are really the only options in my opinion.

Shhh! Don't tell anyone but this place rocks!! Relaxing but definitely not boring. From the great and friendly staff, Ana, Maggie and Milo to name a few, to the awesome Thai fusion food and drinks we loved it!! We rented bikes and a car through the hotel which was helpful and swam in the local cenotes. Can't wait to take my husband next time!!

After our daughter recommended Mezzanine from her trip last year in Tulum, Mexico we jumped at the chance to follow in (bathing)suit and did, without any questions.

Our 6 days at Mezzanine were so easy, comfortable and care-free that we were able to relax and unwind immediately. Just what a beach vacation should be! All the staff from the concierges to the wait staff were polite, spoke great English and put up with my attempts at Spanish and made us feel welcome. The food was exceptional (Thai is their specialty) and the breakfasts were great.
This is a small 9 room eco-hotel right on the beach that offers access to snorkeling near-by, other great restaurants or the ability to step out your door for a beautiful walk down the sugar-sand beach to the Tulum Mayan ruins, a mile away. This is not a fancy hotel but very clean, well maintained, with a small pool and comfortable ocean-view rooms. I especially appreciated how quiet it is, with the sound of the waves crashing a constant din, that made sleeping very peaceful.
A great geaway- highly recommended.

Room Tip: we were in the view rooms, #4 was at the end so it was quiet with a neighbor on one side which we n...

We will never come back to Tulum and NOT stay at the Mezzanine. Maguie - who truly does feel like a good friend now - and the rest of the staff took care of us from the moment we pulled up until we walked out the door. Bed was wonderfully comfortable and nothing beats sleeping with the sound of the ocean right outside your bedroom window. The staff was incredible (The chef even sat down with us for a drink one afternoon) and made you feel like family but also gave you lots of space for private time on one of the many private lounging spaces throughout this quaint little hotel. The restaurant (Thai) is one of the best places to eat in town. Incredible views.) The beach is also a few steps down and the staff will set up beach chairs and umbrella for you. There were usually only a few other friendly guests on the beach, which I really liked. We are planning to come back in August to see the baby turtles hatch. This place was heaven. Thanks Maguie, Jan, Wilbur, Nick and Dim for making our time absolute perfection!

Room Tip: Our room was facing the ocean. Loved it. The breeze and the sound of the ocean made for a great slee...

Mezzanine Hotel in Tulum is the most magical place I've ever been-- seriously! We stayed 3 nights in a Sea View room- which is definitely worth it. You get a picturesque view of the ocean, a small loft with a view of the jungle on the other side, and a deck to enjoy coffee in the morning- coffee is delivered at 7 am to your doorstep! The deck is shared with the other 3 Sea View rooms, but we never felt like that was invasive. It was still very private. There is also a nice sun deck with 4 chairs, and a few mattresses to get a tan near the popol. Or if you prefer to be in the shade, you can head down to the hammocks that are right on the beach and very private. The staff got to know us, remembered our names throughout the visit, and was very accommodating to every need. The bar (which has happy hour!!) has beautiful views and plenty of seating- both restaurant style, or more private, bohemian seating on the ground. The bartenders are very nice and welcoming as well.

This was a great place to stay as a couple, but we already have plans to bring friends back next year. We stayed at two other hotels during our trip to Tulum, and Mezzanine surpassed them by miles. It's luxurious, private, and comfortable. The location is great and just a short drive from popular bars like Mateo's... but with everything they have to offer, you don't really need to go anywhere else at all.

Room Tip: Sea View! It's a great size with a gorgeous view. Worth the upgrade.
