Dreams hotel was literally a dream! My family and I stayed at the resort for 8 nights and we loved every minute of it!

The hotel itself was beautiful, and the views were breath taking.

The best thing about the resort was definitely the entertainment team. All of the team members were extremely friendly and hard working. A special mention to Jonathan, Roberto, Erick and Hugo, who were all excelente and made our stay very memorable.

The food cannot be faulted, especially the Mexican and Japanese restaurants.

All of the staff members were very welcoming and friendly and always made sure we were well looked after.

If you are thinking about staying at this Dreams resort, I would highly recommend that you do. You will not be disappointed!

I stayed at this resort a few weeks ago with my family and we all had a great experience (and the all inclusive was great)! The facilities were very good, and the employees were very welcoming and nice! The only negative is that there weren't that many sunbeds so get there early! I'd like to especially mention the entertainment team - Roberto, Jonathan, Eric, Carol, Maleina, and Lali. Would definitely recommend this to everyone! Excelente!

We had a wonderful 10 days at Dream Tulum. We stayed in one of the Hacienda Suites and had an amazing view of the ocean. The room was huge and the bed was very comfortable.

All the restaurants were great. Our favorite was the Italian restaurant. It was so wonderful we ended up dining there three times. Service was amazing at all of the restaurants. Really fun waiters at the Mexican restaurant and very good food as well. The pumpkin soup was simply wonderful. We enjoyed the buffet for breakfast as well as the ala carte breakfast served at Oceana. Loved being able to eat outside at so many different spots. Our group also enjoyed having food available right by the pool. No need to get dressed to go to lunch. Rooms service was great, not a long wait and arrived hot. Very nice. Drinks were good at the swim up bar and at all the other bars. Great coffee shop that serves specialty coffees and pastry and sandwiches.

We enjoyed the evening entertainment very much, always something going on. My husband enjoyed playing pool at night at the sports bar/ disco.

Snorkeling is very good off to the left of the resort swimming area. Much better than other resorts we have been to. We loved the isolated beach without a bunch of other resorts around. Very nice for long walks.

All in all, a great time was had by all of our group of 6. Great resort for families as well as adults. We were a group of adults traveling with no children and loved this resort. We all really enjoyed ourselves and would not hesitate to return or to recommend to others.

Room Tip: Hacienda Suites are huge and near the beach, pools and restaurants.

We planned our trip thru Apple vacations in Oconomowoc wi for Aug 10-16 2014. Stacy lined it all up for us as an alternative to our first choice of St. Lucia. The resort in St Lucia was rated as 4 apples (stars) and cost almost $4000 more than the 6 golden apple (stars) resort in Tulum. We travelled with our 3 kids, 18,15,9. This was one of the highest rated resorts that allowed kids. The flight was ok, we got off the plane and walked outside to the bus boarding area, greeted by the hot humid August Mexican sun,....at high noon no less. So imagine 98° at probably 85% humidity. As we stood in line to be sorted onto buses, an Apple rep was checking people's paperwok, and he pulled us out of line. He immediately put us in a private shuttle van and we rode straight to our resort without having to stop and unload passengers like the other buses do. That was definitely nice seeing as how the resort is almost 2 hours south of the airport. We arrived at Dreams Tulum greeted by a guy dressed like Panama Jack with a silver platter full of rolled damp fresh washcloths to freshen our faces after the ride. Walking thru the front door we were greeted by a woman with a silver tray of champagne to drink while we checked in.they immediately had a bellhop take our bags to our rooms. (We had 2 rooms, 1 for the kids). Our rooms were both Jr suites, 1 king size 1 with 2 double beds. Both rooms had a small hottub, shower, decent flatscreen tv, large sitting area and outdoor sitting area with garden views. The resort was beautifully manicured with plenty of lizards and birds to occupy our camera lenses for days to come. The resort features at least 6 places to eat maybe more. We enjoyed the world cafe for breakfast almost every day, and the staff quickly knew us by name. The food in there was good, particularly their Mayan traditionals. On Wednesday evening my wife and I took in the fare at the French restaurant, it's the only one with age restrictions adults only, and within 10 minutes the head chef for the whole operation had stopped by and introduced himself and invited us to a special dinner just for us that he would plan, the next night at the Italian restaurant. All 5 of us went the next night dressed to the 9s, and had a wonderful 5 course meal, each of us had our own waiter!. It was fun watching 5 waiters come out in a line and set our courses down if front of each of us, and lift the covers off simultaneously. This type of treatment went on the whole week. I don't know if I share the same name as a VIP in their organization, but we didn't see anyone else get any special treatment. Only minor complaints we had was the maid service would switch out the towels but forget new washcloths 3 out of 6 days. Not a big deal if she had left the old ones but she took those as well. We also couldnt seem to get a working coffeemaker. Our off resort excursions were fun as well, but the zip line /atv ride/ cave diving combo was the best, more so because our guide Carlos was so good to us. There was no rush to get this or that done, as was the case with the Mayan ruins/ Sea turtle snorkeling combo where the guide was in a hurry to get us thru. Our last excursion was a dolphin/manatee swimming experience that was spoiled by the camera ban and fact that they take the photos and charge $37 a piece!! For pictures. And no that's not pesos my friend, it's us dollars. Imagine getting 3 or 4 pic of each of the 5 family members. I'd have to sell a kidney!!. All in all we will vacation with the same hotel chain again, perhaps at one of the all adult resorts, and I believe we will plan it with Apple Vacations again as well.

Room Tip: Jr suite garden view avoids the late night beach noise.

The resort itself gets 4.5 Stars, the issues we had are below.

1. The Hotel staff is really pushy about getting the girls to drink, over and over and over...
2. The Hotel staff banged on the door 5 times in 1 hour to pick up plates for room service. We had come in on the last day wanting to relax and nap as we had to leave very early the next day and also enjoy our last evening. House keeping picked up our plates, and 4 different workers then came one after another asking for the plates again and again. It was the strangest thing ever and made us very grumpy.
3. The actual swimming area at the beach is rather small, but you can walk the beach to find other spots also away from the resort.
4. We had a Jr. Suite Swimout, and they clean the pool at odd times, like early afternoon, which for us was the time we were coming back from an outing, wanting to swim.
5. We had about 1,000 mosquitos in our room the first two nights. Housekeeping must leave doors open while cleaning ...
6. There was no info about checking out, so we took off early AM, only to find out we had to drive all the way back to get a slip of paper to give to the front gate before leaving, after driving back, they said all is "ok" and we received no paper, but got the go ahead wave from the front gate. Odd. Good thing we were not in a hurry.

Other than those things..... It was good.

Room Tip: Choose a corner swim-out so you have more privacy, adult sides only.

We got married on the beach in a very nice, intimate ceremony. Reception on the beach followed. Servers were very attentive, keeping drink glasses full. Food was amazing as everyone loved their meal.... Restaurants served tasty food that was plated excellently (best steak fajitas I've ever had). Everything was always served looking great... Top shelf bar.

Beach was not as nice as I'd hoped. Could have been sandier water. Very Rocky. Not sure if it was time of year or current, but tons of seaweed washed up on beach and it was not cleaned up. daily. They tried to but there was soooo much. Snorkeling right off shore was good as you did not have to go out far to see fish and coral reef.

Pools were nice, but kids are allowed at pool bar & area. Hard to enjoy drink with kid splashing water in it. Chairs by pool get claimed early (all by 7ish) but in my opinion, who goes to a beach resort to spend their time sunning next to pool 30 meters away from ocean?

Staff very friendly. Entertainment staff always upbeat and fun which to me was amazing because they were always there. I am talking 16 work hour days. Bartenders very accommodating and helpful.

So, room, staff, dining, & drink was excellent.
Beach and pool good.

Room Tip: Turn your fridge up, always set to low.

We have just come back to the US after spending a week in Playa del Carmen. We were staying at Playa but we went 3 times on a day pass to the Dreams Tulum. It is affordable and the service is just excellent. Eduardo, the beach butler will do everything to make you feel comfortable. The Grill at the beach was good and the bare foot bar near the pool was offering hot dog, fresh pizza and hamburger all day long. Unfortunately the sea was dirty in these days but for the rest, an excellent experience
