This is not a luxury beach hotel - but it does not claim to be one! Great service, particularly cocktails on the beach. They have their own diving/snorkeling operations and snorkeling in a couple of cenotes is a well worthwhile experience

Room Tip: No rooms overlooking the beach but the cabins are only 30 meters or so from the beach

My boyfriend and I didn't stay at the hotel but we had lunch here one day and subsequently spent the rest of the day there. Jolie served us lunch and was probably the friendliest, most accommodating and most interesting person we met during our 2 weeks in Mexico. A Mayan wedding was taking place on the beach nearby and Jolie told us lots about their history and culture. She even gave me a small good luck trinket to take home with me.

I can also say, from first-hand experience, that the masseuse there is very good, professional and friendly.

This is the first place I have ever come back to a second time! We knew how wonderful it was so definitely had to go back.
Beautiful paradise in a very comfortable and welcoming environment. Affordable and although basic ( but with everything you need) it is perfect for a very relaxing holiday. You are right on the beach and close enough to travel to the ruins and to a fantastic snorkling site where you can see turtles. Depending on the time of year you might even see baby ones that have hatched on the beach. Thankyou Cornelius and crew for making both holidays ones to remember and looking after is so well. I would thoroughly recommend!

We stayed here this time last year and had such a fantastic stay that we came again. Travelling with a friend we knew what to expect, the rooms are basic, but they have en-suite, hot showers, air-con and fans. The rooms are clean enough bearing in mind you're 2 seconds from a beach! The service is wonderful, sure it can be a little slow when it's busy but you're made to feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble and they really make you feel at home. Cornelius and the team are a fab bunch and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a no-fuss, relaxing and homely stay in the paradise of Tulum.

OM cabanas is a small and cosy place. Located near the end of the playa road, It is a 10 rooms only resort. Quiet and Peaceful. Rooms were really beautiful even if they were not facing the beach. I really thought the rooms were clean and It was a charm for the price. Staff was always helpful and friendly and they even offer free coffee. Didn't have the chance to try the food really. Good options for snorkeling and scuba diving.

I would recommend it to anyone. Would go again without any hesitations.

Room Tip: Don't take a room directly behing the kitchen,

As you wouldn't have 5 star expectations from places around Tulum, expect a hiccup or 2 here and there. The place has charm, has a great restaurant deck right on the beach (one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever visit, mind).
The rooms are small and so are the bathrooms; something like that I don't mind - the service is inconsistent and that makes things confusing.
We were only told AFTER booking that the electricity shuts for 4 hours a night - might be an issue if you need the air-con on while you sleep (and you WILL need it when it's hot!).
Sadly the GREAT lunch menu (Mexican) changed at night to a more European menu - it's a shame, as we were only interested in local food. The one lunch we had there - FANTASTIC!

Room Tip: Check about electricity BEFORE you book!

Great hotel for the money!!!, we actually enjoyed our stay very much, the food was delicious, the staff really friendly...they could maybe use some upgrade on the beach furniture though...we had no complaints at all, our room had A/C and it worked just fine...
