A good venue for a wedding. Lovely setting, good service - pity about the weather, very misty at this time of year. The hotel utterly came across as a bit dated, could do with a bit of an upgrade. But the staff was helpful and friendly.

We do agree that the venue comes across as 'out-dated', however, the hotel is rich with old world charm which is why many people choose this establishment over other venues.

From the moment we walked into reception, we felt special. The check-in was quick, professional and super friendly! The FOOD!!!! – Well, this was by far the best food we have had at any hotel/lodge. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection, tasty and absolutely divine!! Thiought I would only have to diet for a week, mmmm J The friendly staff goes out their way to assist and serve the customer, even before you can ask for something, they have already noticed and corrected the matter. This was all done without them being overeager the whole time and interrupting conversations or experiences. They have the ability to stand at a distance and are so well "tuned in" to the customer's needs and experience that a possible issue is resolved before it even happened. The personal room service and nature is absolutely stunning. Sitting outside, listening to the birds and the waterfall will definitely have a relaxing effect on any person!! The views are breathtaking form the hotel. Separating the houses/rooms is a magnificent idea, private and you are not being disturbed by other guests or their offspring. The hotel is ideally situated in an area with enough activities and places to visit. Overall the best experience we had from any hotel, with the best food, friendliest staff and stunning service and views!!!!! This is an example of “ GOOD service with a smile!!!” Congratulations and thanks for the experience this past weekend!!

Room Tip: All rooms have excellent view and ideally situated.

Thanks to GM Jacques Slabbert for making our stay a visit to remember. From the friendly welcome we received (complete with Gluhwein) to our departure everything was done with efficiency. Special mentions also to Moses, Johannes (Smiley) the Bar man, the friendly Chef, the luggage assistants and all the rest of the staff for their service and friendliness. Our spacious room was clean, private and our balcony had superb views. The bathroom was clean, spacious, with a huge bath and a separate shower. We ordered scrumptious dinner snacks and drinks and the room service was perfect. This is a fantastic location and without a doubt the place to stay while exploring Magoebaskloof and the surrounds. Will definitely be back soon! Johan vd Walt.

Hotel in the middle of nature. Reception staff very friendly (and funny ...). Place looks a bit worn out and could do with some refurbishment; the "room" (= selfcatering appartment with living and 2 bedrooms) was however spacious and clean. Some minor technical issues in the bathroom (small leak + very slow shower drain) but all in all good value for the price we paid.
Very nice pub.
Had dinner in the hotel-restaurant : a buffet (don't know if they do this every night - probably depends on the number of people staying in the hotel) for 150 ZAR/pp with excellent food.

We had driven past this hotel many times on route to the Kruger National Park
This time we decided to make it a stop over, and also spend some time enjoying the scenic beauty of the Haenertsburg area. This turned out to be an excellent decision.
As we approached the hotel reception, Moses came out to welcome us in a friendly way. He immediately called for a staff member to assist with our luggage.
Moses who was neatly dressed in his uniform, completed our check-in fast and efficiently. We were grateful to Jack who assisted us with our luggage up the stairs, as we were allocated a room on the first floor.
We were quite impressed upon entering the room. It was found to be spacious, very clean and tidy, with a balcony overlooking the beautiful Magoebaskloof Valley. A fully stocked tea/coffee station with some biscuits was also provided. The room also had a nice spacious bathroom with all amenities provided and a full size bath.
We decided to have their Saturday dinner buffet, which turned out a good choice. All the dishes provided, from the starters to the main course and desserts were very tasty and well presented. Daniel, our waitron was very attentive to our needs. Relaxing background music was also provided at an appropriate volume.
The hotel also has a nice and clean pool area with neatly set up loungers and umbrellas where one can relax and enjoy the beautiful view.
The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated and all staff members were very friendly and helpful. All those that we encountered had a “we greet first” approach.
Overall we experienced our stay as a most enjoyable one, and decided to stay over for a longer period next time to explore more of the area.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper level provide a beautiful view of the surrounding valleys.
