“This cottage brightened the terrible weather”
Reviewed 18 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The weather this weekend was atrocious and we ended up spending a lot of time indoors.
Rebecca not only made us feel welcome but managed to find a lot of toys to keep the children amused. The cottage lacked for nothing and the open fire helped to brighten an otherwise dark and wet weekend. We did manage a wet walk in the Savernake Forest which was wonderful despite the rain.
We shall certainly try to go back during the Summer or Autumn to take advantage of the things we missed, try it you will not be disappointed

“Lovely spacious house”
Reviewed 11 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We had a great relaxing weekend in Pewsey, the house is lovely – really light and airy – with an enormous garden. The décor is stylish and modern but the house still feels cosy and homely. As we travelled in January it was nice to have the open fire in the lounge and Rebecca was very helpful in providing lots of kindling and fire wood.

The kitchen is huge and well stocked with utensils, we made three meals for the 8 of us and it had everything we needed. Our group included a young baby and the main bedroom on the ground floor had a cot and an ensuite, which was helpful. There is a fairly large Co-op a short drive or a 12 minutes walk away, which is helpful for buying food and drink – and the local Indian is a good option for a take away.

A great spot for a relaxing winter weekend.

“Fabulous Family trip!!”
Reviewed 30 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We were a mixed family group including grandparents and kids plus baby, and the property couldnt have been more perfect!

The location itself is very good, Pewsey being serviced by a great fast train link into Paddington, and the village itself with several shops, coffee houses, pubs and a Co-Op was a few mins drive / 15 min walk away. We travel to these large houses a couple of times a year for family get togethers and this location was definitely one of the best for convenience.

The house itself is absolutely lovely, in a picturesque apple orcahrd which at this time of year was just stunning. The kids were entranced with the huge apple harvest and watching them be prepped before juicing....and we all enjoyed the welcome basket of apples with a lovely note from the owner Rebecca.

She and her family live in the manor house next door so its very reassuring to have them close at hand should you need them, which we didnt as everything was so well organised. They welcomed us as we arrived, showed us bits we needed to know and introduced us to Twiggy their lovely dog, who our children thoroughly enjoyed playing with every day!

The layout of the house was perfect for our group, with two bedrooms downstairs (king and single / trundle) which we used for one 'branch' of the family, with the master en-suite, a further king / twin and additional single all upstairs; perfect for grandparents and my brother with his kids!

A real comfort was how kind our host Rebecca was - she was incredibly generous not only with her time but also the services within the house eg heating, extra bedding, towels etc. We were warm as toast and had no issues needing anything - thank you!

The decor is lovely and the real beauty of the house in our opinion is the amazing kitchen. It had every amentiy you could need, was a very sociable space and filled with light and warmth in the day, and cosy and intimate for lovely candlelit family suppers in the evening while the kids slept off days running in the countryside. Perfect!

We had a thoroughly lovely time at Southcott, a wonderful house in a beautiful setting with friendly and relaxed owners....you couldnt want any more!!

Highly recommended - and thanks for such amazing memories and a wonderful trip

Thank you. The children were great fun and really lovely to see them running around and enjoying the space. They even fed a few Guinea fowl and the Ginger Tom! Hope to welcome you back soon.

“Ideal for family get together”
Reviewed 6 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This is a lovely cottage both spacious but still cosy. Lovely lounge with open fire and so many dvd's you would need to stay a year to see them all.
Lovely large open plan kitchen/ diner come sitting area overlooking a huge lawned area. Listen to the Owls calling at night as it is so peaceful. Lovely village to explore and so many places to visit. Good Indian restaraunt in village too, well worth a visit.
5 bedrooms so can easily sleep nine people. Rebecca gave us a beautiful bouquet of flowers on our arrival and would be around if anyone needed anything in the way of advice etc. lovely bedding and large airy rooms. We had two young children age 3 and 2 and there was lots of safe room to play outside and a huge trampoline with enclosure fir them so they were delighted. Twiggy, the dog was very friendly and visited us often. All in all a very nice place to stay.

“the perfect stay”
Reviewed 23 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Spent a wonderfully relaxing three nights at this very comfortable house.
The layout of the property allows for a great social time but also if you want some quiet time there is ample of room to find a quiet corner to read. The setting is great and even though we had typical British summer rain the cottage is so relaxing you really don't mind staying inside.
Pewsey is a cute Wiltshire village and there is a lovely little pub within walking distance.
