What a wonderful find! This restaurant is a real gem and well worth seeking out - situated in a wood, next to a lake which is part of a network of ancient peat bogs, it looks from a distance like a sort of snack-hut but do not be fooled! We enjoyed a really hearty home-cooked 3 course meal - the food was rustic and very simple, but obviously freshly prepared and really tasty. The main attraction of Des Tourbieres is being able to sit right by the lake and feed the coypu and ducks, and just generally enjoy the lovely surroundings.
It would be an ideal place to take children as the chance to see and feed the wild neighbours up close is something you don't find very often. The owners were really friendly and welcoming too, making the whole evening a really lovely experience. Booking recommended; we visited on a Sunday evening after being unable to get a table on the Saturday.
