“A Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 22 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We were in the area for a friend's wedding and since we were travelling with our young children (21 and 3 months), we decided to stay 6 nights and make it a family holiday as well. Even my parents came over for a few days to take care of the babies. We were very warmly welcomed by the owner Elisabetta as well as her lovely parents and had the pleasure of meeting her husband Stefano a few days later. The rooms are very nice, clean and decorated with great care by Elisabetta. The view from the terras is absolutely breathtaking!!!! The owners did absolutely everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, including providing baby beds and even a wooden horse for our son. Although you can not make use of the kitchen, we were allowed to put some things in their fridge, like baby milk. They were also very kind to help us out with the bbq and one evening they even made delicious pizza for us! They have tons and tons of information on the area and things to do! But an afternoon in the backyard with a delicious dip in their small pool is also very very nice ;) The area is great for hiking and little villages to visit! A car, i would say, is necessary to go to the supermarkt and restaurants.

“We felt warmly welcomed at this modern home with beautiful vineyard vistas”
Reviewed 12 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Our visit was a long-held desire to return close to an area where fond memories of past family holidays were held. We drove a hired car from Pavia to Broni, via Canneto Pavese - where we had loved staying many years ago and which was the reason for our return to theis area. After taking a wrong turn and driving through very narrow vineyard roads, up and downhills we finally arrived at Il Sassoscritto. We found the B & B "Il Sassoscritto" to be pretty perfect accomodation for our needs. We arrived to a very warm welcome by Elisabetta and entered a beautifully designed, modern home which felt relaxing from the outset. Myself, my sister and my daughter shared a large room with a large, modern shower-room and a balcony. There was a double bed, comfortable bunk-beds and Elisabetta had thoughtfully installed a blow up bed in case we would prefer that to the top bunk. Importantly, the air-conditioning worked efficiently, we had good cupboard space and tea-making facilities . Our first evening was spent dining on the large veranda watching the beautiful sun-set behind the distant hills beyond the vineyards. It felt peaceful, calming and a perfect start to a long awaited return to the area. Elisabetta and Stefano were our hosts and they were easy company, considerate hosts and very much helped us to enjoy our stay in the area by giving us advice, and tried very hard to accommodate our wants. They really went out of their way to support us in our short trip, including rescuing us in the dark one night when we lost our way back through the myriad of narrow country roads up in the hills. The location suited us perfectly, however we did have some difficulty with navigating the area although we used SatNav, I think this is something that can be overcome. What we liked best were the lovely, relaxing breakfasts on the terrace looking out at the beautiful scenery and listening to the church bells in the distance. We did use the small swimming pool and sun-loungers. I feel you need to be fairly fit to walk up and down to these which are at the bottom of the garden. What we liked least were the mosquito bites! But Elisabetta had considered this and she had spray and candles to reduce the possibility of being bitten. Overall, if you are going to, or passing through this area I would fully recommend staying at Il Sassoscritto.

“Small paradise in the majestically beautiful area”
Reviewed 26 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed in Il Sassoscritto B&B just one night on our way from Croatia to France. It is a small paradise in the majestically beautiful area with diverse landscape. It is excellent for tranquil holiday away from the everyday monotony. It's a pity that we reserved just one night, were limited in our time and couldn’t stay longer. Elisabetta was a great host, very helpful in everything and in providing us with the information about the area, which we had never visited before and she advised us a restaurant nearby with excellent typical Italian food. Elisabetta prepared delicious breakfast (including her own homemade food) and made us feel welcome. The room were very clean and comfortable, beautifully designed and furnished to a high standard. If you appreciate peace and quiet, fresh air, a good night’s sleep and a relaxing breakfast this is for you. Totally recommended!

“A most fulfilling experience”
Reviewed 24 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Our only regret is not having had more time to enjoy the area and the spectacular hospitality of Elisabetta and her partner Stefano.
Il Sassoscritto is a gem of an establishment: the exterior and the interior are beautifully designed, the landscape is breathtaking and the warmth of our hosts made our experience truly unique. Elisabetta is a fabulous interior designer and a passionate cook: her breakfasts are home-made masterpieces.
Stefano is an aeroplane enthusiast and has his own small private plane.
We are longing to return as soon as life allows.
See you again sometime, Elisabetta and Stefano
