This beach got highly recommended by some friends and it was worth coming here. The beach is like the beach you've in your dreams. White sand, crystal clear blue waters and fish. You can walk while low tide to the riffs and scuba dive there.

Definitely a place to be! Stay at maracatu hostel! ;)

Worm waters and peacefull place. Just a little far from the road.... so may not be a good deal to a quick stop and go... you may spend 1h to get in to the city and another 1h to get back to road.

As a foreigner, driving to Sao Miguel dos Milagres from Recife is very difficult. Roads are not marked, navigations do not show many of small roads. The towns along the way are quite poor, with no gas stations or decent places to eat. If you are going to drive 4 hours from Recife, head the other direction; Porto de Galihnas, Maracaipe and Serrambi are all only 1.5 to 2 hours away and are just as beautiful. 4 hours North instead of South of Recife, will get you to Pipa, a much easier drive with dramatic cliffs and beautiful beaches. On a small positive note, we did find the people in the state South of Pernambuco very kind!! Several people helped us as we got lost multiple times on the drive to Sao Miguel.
