“Comfortable, clean, warm cottage in lovely location”

Enjoyed our stay at Keepers Cottage very much. The accommodation was ideal with a lovely clean/new bathroom with a really good, spacious shower. It was always warm with hot water and lots of wood for the fire/stove in the living room. The owners of the cottage were very kind and helpful. We took bikes and there was secure storage for them. Loads of lovely cycle routes round about - with some challenging climbs if you wanted them - but also lots of flatter routes on lovely quite roads. Gillamoor is an ideally located for getting to the moors, the Vale of Pickering, the coast, York, etc.

“A very clean and comfortable cottage”

We stayed at the cottage during one of the coldest spells in March. It was warm and comfortable with plenty of logs supplied for the wood burner. The owners Joan and Keri where very friendly and helpful. We also had a great meal in the Royal Oak Pub just across the road. Plenty of wonderful walks straight from the cottage. All in all a great time had.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are really pleased that the icy conditions during your stay were no match for the wood-burner. It was a pleasure to welcome you to Gillamoor.

“Quiet Retreat.”
Reviewed 23 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We were met by the owners (next door) Joan & Keri who showed us round the cottage and made us feel welcome The cottage was exactly as we expected from the information given on their web site, It was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The owners have recently had a new bathroom installed which incorporates a powerful walk in shower. The central heating and endless supply of logs ensured we had a very comfortable and cosy week. The weather was extremely wintry having snow on 5 days out of 7 but this just added to a very enjoyable week. Just across the road is the Royal Oak which we can strongly recommend for friendly atmosphere and very good meals. The village is very quiet and the area not only has numerous walks from the cottage but is an ideal base for exploring the gems of North Yorkshire.
Thank you to Joan & Keri, an enjoyable week in a very cosy cottage, I am sure we will return.

“Perfect in every way”
Reviewed 15 January 2013 for a stay in November 2012

Stayed at the cottage in November 2012 and again in January 2013. Very cosy cottage and very well equiped. The cottage was absolutely spotless. The bed was very comfy, kitchen had every thing that you would need and the sitting room had a lovely log burning stove which was great to come into after a walk on the moors. Ideally situated to get to the coast or the moors. The Royal Oak Public House opposite the cottage serves tasty bar meals and also breakfast can be ordered the night before. Would certainly recommend it to anyone and will be returning to stay soon.

“Home from home”
Reviewed 2 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Just returned from a lovely stay in Keepers cottage.

We were given a very warm welcome on our arrival and were very pleased to find a lovely clean and warm cottage for our weeks stay.
We found the cottage very well equiped with everything we needed and with enough space for us and our two small children.
The location is wonderful, peaceful and tranquil with the benefit of being on the doorstep of the moors. We didn't get the best weather during our stay but still found plenty of things for the family to do and stay dry.
I would highly recommend the cottage for couples and familys who are looking for a quiet break, we found it perfect for our needs and excellent value for money.
Thank you Joan & Kerri!
PS. Being a stones throw from the local pub was a bonus too!
