Stopped by for a weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. This is a great spa and hotel, but I just stopped by for a bite. The menu includes many gourmet delights but decided to try the ostrich. Had a first rate sushi roll appetizer and delicious ostrich steak dinner. The service and ambiance of this place was great. From what I understand they fill up early on weekends. Prices were very reasonable. I will be back.

Nirvana restaurant just outside San Miguel de Allende close to the town of Atontonilco is an oasis of calm after the busy pace of SMA - a Sunday comida here is one our favourite outings - starting late - around 2:30 or 3:00 you sit in the outside garden looking over rolling hills and slowly taking in the beautiful surroundings. The menu is extensive and really interesting with meats and seafood cooked over a mesquite fire. We asked for a rose wine and with very little trouble one was produced - not on the list - cool and dry from Chile - a slow lazy meal ensued - no feeling of being rushed and just the russle of the wind in the trees and the warmth from the sun that increased the feeling of well being. We have been to Nirvana before and always try to take out guests out to this magic place - we will continue to do so! There are cassitas on the property and a lovely pool. The serving staff are helpful and there when you need them.Juan Carlos the owner is always there checking to ensure that everything is running smoothly and is totally charming. I highly recommend a trip to Nirvana!

Very disappointed in the food. Also sewage smells wafting in the air. Location quite beautiful...good for a drink in the afternoon. Duck spring roll appetizer was fine. I will not eat there again.

Food superb. Service superb. Setting superb. Second visit in 1 year and we will go again. Don't miss this experience if you enjoy out of this world food in an out of this world setting. While you are at it, make a reservation to visit the Atotonilco Gallery literally next door. Also fantastic.
