“B&B Experience doesn't get much better than this!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

A group of us stayed several nights at this beautiful property. It is #1 in my B&B experiences in Mexico (and I travel a lot to various parts of Mexico). Heidi and Bill will make sure that everything is perfect-- their knowledge and love of Mexico and its people are big plusses if you are interested in folk art, tips for where to go/what to do/where to eat, etc. and of course you can decide just to hang out at their stunning, gorgeous Casa with great views, furnishings and works of art. I don't think our stay in San Miguel would have been nearly as wonderful without their guidance and hospitality. Oh, and did I mention the massages on site?!

Stayed four nights. Welcomed and spoiled from minute we arrived Hosts Bill and Heidi make every effort to make your visit a pleasure. Property is beautiful and the breakfasts are yummy.
Don't miss the attached ceremonial mask museum and the folk art gallery.

We have stayed at Casa de la Cuesta many times. This year we rented the whole B&B for a family reunion! As always our stay was great. The rooms are big, comfortable and the decor is beautiful. The views of town and the Cathedral are top notch with only a short walk to town. We love the indoor-outdoor feeling, with lot's of open areas. The breakfasts are incredible with authentic Mexican fare. You won't need to eat lunch! The owners, Bill & Heidi also collect indigenous ceremonial masks and their museum behind the B&B is world class - a must see in San Miguel. Bill & Heidi are great hosts and really make us feel at home.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Casa de la Cuesta and it was truly a wonderful experience. Heidi arranged for someone to pick us up at the airport which was great since we were coming in late. When we got to the Casa, Heidi had wine waiting for us and even offered to make a quick dinner for my husband. What is great about staying with Heidi and Bill is that they really know the area, the best places to shop, eat and go and they are excited to share that information with you. Heidi knew what musicians were playing where at night and other things that were not in any books or travel guides.

The room we had at Casa de la Cuesta was the San Miguel Room. We loved it. In addition to a bedroom there was also our own living room with couches, chairs and great art. We also had our own patio with comfortable chaise lounge chairs and an umbrella.

Breakfasts at the Casa were amazing and varied each day. Each morning there was delicious yogurt, granola, fruit and juice as the "first course." The second course was a Mexican style breakfast, eggs, potatoes, toast, corn cakes, and other delicious things I can't name. There were at least 3 salsas available too. The breakfast was so plentiful we never ate lunch!

The Casa also has a wonderful mask museum and art gallery. Ask Heidi to explain the art in the gallery and you will be treated to a lesson about the various indigenous groups in Mexico, their clothes, traditions, iconography, etc. We bought a beautiful piece of art there.

The Casa is a beautiful house! It is shown on the Sunday House Tours sometimes. Heidi and Bill are truly warm and gracious hosts. You will not be disappointed.

Our stay at Casa de la Cuesta was very comfortable - we had a large room with a king bed and a living room and balcony and a kitchenette. Breakfast is huge and a great way to propel you thru the day - some days we only had to have snacks before eating dinner, no lunch at all thanks to the huge breakfast! Our hosts were knowledgeable and willing to share loads of information. They engaged drivers for us to do some exploring outside of SMA and they helped us find good places to eat. The facility is lovely - a good example of colonial Mexican living with all the upgrades you want on vacation - easily accessible honor bar, loads of color travel books about the area, artwork of Mexico throughout the building. Would recommend this lovely place to anyone traveling to SMA UNLESS you cannot walk up stairs. Would go again!

Room Tip: IF you want really quiet, ask for a room off the front street. In the back would be ideal if you wa...

My family and I have stayed at other hotels in San Miguel, always looking for the perfect hotel to stay during our visits. A friend of mine recommended this lovely B&B with breathtaking views of SMA. I'm glad I listened to her! This is our new favorite hotel in town. The rooms are tastefully decorated, very cozy and clean. Love the chimney in my room as well as the hummingbirds outside my window. Walking distance to the ¨Jardin Principal¨;delicious food and excellent service. I highly recommend this wonderful B&B where you would be warmly received by the owners. Don't miss Bill's Mask Museum which is a jewel. Can't wait to go back!

Over Labor Day weekend this year, I was married in San Miguel, and many of the people at our wedding including myself and my new husband stayed at Casa de la Cuesta. Bill, the owner, was extremely helpful with accommodating all of our guests. It was so fun to all be together at night and sit on the rooftop and enjoy a cocktail. The breakfasts are delicious, and the chilaquiles are to die for. Bill helped us with all the transportation and even kept my wedding dress until my mother in law could come pick it up. Not only is this a beautiful place to stay, but an ideal location to everything. We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are fun and unique, so I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Also...
