I don't have enough wonderful things to say about Sagrada. I spent the week there between Christmas and New Years this winter and had an absolutely spectacular time. It was three adults and a child staying in the gorgeous Casa Romantica, and we all agreed that we couldn't imagine a more perfect vacation. Our hosts, Pamela and Claudia, were kind, generous, thoughtful and attentive, as were the entire staff. They organized hikes through the beautiful hills that surround the hotel, cooked up some of the most delicious meals I've ever had, and made sure that we were well taken care of throughout our stay. If you are considering a trip to the San Miguel de Allende area (or just looking for the perfect, relaxing and healthy escape from the daily grind), you must consider Sagrada! You won't be disappointed.

What a lovely location just outside San Miguel de Allende; it only took 25 minutes to arrive there. Thoroughly enjoyed my two day stay with the owners, Blair and Shane, who are impeccable, knowledgeable, funny, warm and sincere hosts who are working very hard to make Sagrada a truly amazing retreat for regenerating one's life. The food was delightful and varied; the grounds have a huge variety of cacti, flowers and plants; and much thought and planning have gone into Sagrada, with much more planned. Had a wonderful massage, and feel like a new person. Thanks!

Room Tip: LaFonda is my favorite of all the rooms.

In these troubled times, the opportunity to purchase a perfect corner of paradise is at best a dream for most. However, my mission here is to tell you that you can rent such a wonderful corner for a while, and the happy news is that the price is right for your sojourn, be it long or short.

The Sagrada Wellness Resort, just outside San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, is, quite simply, one of the most unique and beautiful boutique hotels in the world. Its separate villitas are quietly dispersed among a huge botanical garden of old growth, perfectly manicured cactii, and hundreds of varieties of succulents and bromeliads.
This place is literally the envy of the Living Desert Museum in Palm Springs, California. This is "Old California" in design, concept and perfect execution, which has always been, of course, Old Mexico. Beautiful, gracious, and attentive. Think of the old Ojai Valley Inn and the San Ysidro Ranch.
There is a magic at work here; a fusion of the amazing flora, the perfectly managed and maintained Villa Accomodations, the 40 mile views of a picturesque, serene valley dotted with manicured ranches, the crisp, clean air, the excellent cooking of mexican fusion cuisine, and owners who are charming, gracias, and caring to a fault: attentive to your every need for total relaxation and comfort. Blair and Shane are the perfect hosts, at once highly capable and experienced hoteliers in running boutique hotels in many corners of the world, all unique, and they are also entertaining by nature, and a lot of fun to talk to..
The managerial and support staff, including Pamillia, Claudia, and the excellent cook of three meals a day, Beatrice, (who makes an outstanding red and black mole, among so many other delightful things), are all first rate.
And did I mention that it is quiet among the picture postcard beauty of the villitas and the gardens? The sound of perfectly peaceful silence pervades the entire resort.
Before I came here to temporarily escape for a while the good natured and charming bustle that is San Miguel de Allende in the Summer Season, I had of necessity slept with earplugs duly stuffed in my ears during a nightly ritual for the last 15 years.
The earplugs never made it out of their case the entire time I was here.
The only ocassional sounds to touch your meditating ears here are the distinctive song of beautiful birds, the soft flutter of a butterfly's wings, or the occasional distant wail of a lonely train from the peaceful valley below as you pursue your restful dreams.
Welcome to Paradise. You are Welcome.

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent. We stayed in the Sonoma and loved it. Very private and quiet.

Sagrada Wellness is one of those conundrums where either you get it or you don't! And my partner and I got it....big time. If you want to "unplug" from the world for a period of time, this will do the trick.
We live in San Miguel de Allende MX, and I decided to give my partner Annie a birthday retreat at Sagrada. We chose the Casa Romantica, and it was more than we expected. Basically it's a 2 room bungalow, with a patio in the middle. Kitchen, den w/day bed on one side, and bedroom/full bath on the other side. Very private....
To see the specifics of what Sagrada offers, go to their website.
Hope this helps in giving you a satisfied customer perspective.
Sincerely, Scott

I highly recommend Sagrada if you are looking for a healthy and informal but very comfortable retreat. I needed to get in shape but wasn't willling to sacrifice my vacation in a boot camp or clinical atmosphere. Sagrada was the perfect solution - the location is very pleasant and the owners designed a program of hikes, swimming, yoga, pilates and massage according to my personal needs. The classes and treatments were very high quality and fun and I learned a lot. Everyday I ate three tasty, healthy, fresh meals and never felt hungry although the food was low in calories. By the end of my trip, I had gained strength, flexibility and confidence and lost about 12 pounds in 22 days. I was travelling by myself but never felt lonely because of the friendly and interesting people at Sagrada, not to mention the lovable, well-behaved dogs. It was a pleasure to live in a beautiful spot in the Mexican countryside and to be able to go into San Miguel de Allende. Sagrada is not just another charming hotel, it is a special experience.

Room Tip: My cottage was Sonoma, which was very comfortable. It has a bathroom and is an easy walk from the ma...

On a solo trip around central Mexico, I spent a week at the magical ranch. It is a true find! The views, crisp mountain air, the serenity... so good for my soul! Super cute and comfortable casitas, amazingly fresh food ...an open air yoga studio overlooking the valley. The owners were so welcoming and Katherine was such a fabulous host-knowledgeable about the area & vegitation, she gladly customized my experience and is one of the best yoga teachers I've ever had.A perfect day consisted of yoga, soaking in the near by hot springs (incredible) and a massage in an ancient adobe building...oh and did I mention the pedicure on the porch? Their local chef made the best fresh and healthy meals and the groundscrew, staff are so friendly, it feels like family. It seems like a world away, but really only 15 minutes to beautiful, colonial San Miguel de Allende for sightseeing and nightlife (gracias Katherine!) Can't wait to come back with friends.
