“5 star all the way!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

We decided on this last minute two day break after a very disappointing start to the week & wow what a fantastic way to end it!! It's difficult to know where to start that can praise this lovely couple highly enough. We were made to feel welcome before we'd even left home, by receiving a very informative email from Mair & Gerry telling us about their b&b, places of interest, walking & cycling routes and places to eat. They offered to help us put together an itinery for sightseeing and as soon as we arrived we were invited into their living quarters (kitchen) for a drink and a chat and then shown to our room. We stayed in the smallest of the 3 rooms (Menai) which was very well laid out, very tastefully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable.
We had use of the front lounge which was very cosy and later in the evening gave us the opportunity to meet the other guests where we spent over 30 minutes chatting with them, sharing tips on where we'd all visited and eaten. Breakfast was wonderful from the fresh fruit through to the toast & jams.....do not pass on the cooked breakfast, it was truly delicious.

On our first full day we were out sightseeing for nearly 11 hours which had been aided by Gerry and his wealth of knowledge about Wales. When it came to us leaving they took the trouble to print out a scenic route for our journey home.

No matter how busy they are, they always have time to chat. Mair treated me to a very interesting talk on the Solanum plant, when i enquired about the 'weird looking' gooseberry bush growning in the garden. It was in fact a potato plant and she very kindly gave me a seedling to take home.

They are the most knowledgeable and friendly couple that you could hope to meet. It's clear to see from our stay with them and other reviews that they are devoted to giving their guests a 1st class service!!!

I stayed here on August Bank Holiday 2012 for 2 nights with my (now) wife. It was a superb break with wonderful hosts and immaculately presented rooms and communal areas. Mair and Gerry were extremely welcoming on arrival, fed us with delicious breakfasts each morning and provided us with fantastic local knowledge. We will stay again!

Me and my Fiancee stayed for 2 nights in Aug 2013. We were greeted with a genuine smile along with a very welcoming coffee and scones. The B&B and guests rooms are all beautifully decorated and located in a lovely location. Mair makes a wonderful breakfast and Gerry has the most amazing local knowlege who is more than happy to give advice and help plan your day, saving you valuable time to get the most out of your stay. A lovely couple and a wonderful experience. it wont be long before we book another stay. thank you once again to Mair and Gerry.

Room Tip: It really doesnt matter as all 3 rooms are warm and welcoming.

Was here for 3 nights and I must say we had such a wonderful stay. The property is so well maintained and very well furnished.
The place is great with outstanding hospitality... the room was comfortable, the breakfast was the BEST... the breakfast the best food I had in Wales!!!
On arrival we were greeted with tea and welsh cake which was delicious.
The owners Gerry and Mair are amazing, very friendly, so nice to talk to and so very helpful. They know the place very well so whatever you want to do, places to visit, places to eat walks etc they will tell you. They have information, brochures of all the tourist places to visit. They even get a print out of the route map you can follow while travelling in wales.
The only little issue we faced was that the speed of the shower was'nt that great but it wasnt a deterrent.
Overall I would say its the best BnB I have ever stayed in. I would have given rating more than 5, if I could :-) .... Highly recommended

I stayed for one night in March 2013. Accommodation was of a very high quality, lovely comfortable bed. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished. On arrival greeted with tea and biscuits, also included our daughter (who was not staying there, as she is at the local university). Very easy to find and close to the A55, so easy access for all amenities. Lovely breakfast, especially the melon, kiwi and strawberries. Breakfast is in the conservatory, with lovely views over a very well-kept garden and can see the sea through trees opposite. Nothing was too much trouble for Gerry and Mair, when we left it was like saying goodbye to friends. We will certainly stay there again.

I stayed at The Grove for one night in Feb 2013 after the first day of a long distance bike ride. I arrived just before dark, exhausted and starving. Within 2 minutes of arrival I was sat down with a pot of tea and a welsh cake (delicious). Nothing was too much trouble for Gerry and Mair. Superb breakfast, and they even drove me to and from the nearest town to get an evening meal, as the local establishments were not serving food that evening.

I would not hesitate to stay at the Grove again next time I am in the area.

You would be hard pressed to find two owners who work so hard to make sure their guests are comfortable and have all the information they need to enjoy their time in the area. The house is beautifully furnished and all you could ask for in a B&B. It is well located to explore the coastline of North Wales as well as the Snowdonia area. There is a wealth of tourist information available and a great deal of local knowledge on hand from the owners Mair and Gerry. The breakfasts are superbly cooked and with fresh, local ingredients. There is plenty of choice available too. Thoroughly recommended.
