We have just returned from a 7 night stay here based on previous travellers' reviews. We are walkers so were interested in having a base for the night and a decent breakfast. The hotel is on the main road on top of a roundabout and seemed to be a business hotel. There was no hope of having the windows open at night as the traffic was loud and the aircon could only go down to 19C. However it worked and we slept well. Breakfasts were large and filling! The train station of Sagrado is a 10minute walk in one direction (regular trains in the direction of Trieste one way and Udine the other) and the town of Gradisca d'Isonzo is a 20minute walk in the other direction. Just before the train station there is Walk 76 that goes up into the hills and mountains and away from the noise and traffic.
Tip: Buy a detailed walking map of the area (Stamfords, London) and make the most of the wonderful walks in this World War 1 area and see the many species of butterflies and bugs to be found in Spring plus the omnipresent birds of prey.More
