Very good location. Rooms are a good size although they are spread out. Nice guest lounge. Food and overall service very good. Beds are hard though. A little on the pricey side overall but not excessive.

Stayed here during a motorcycle tour around Scotland. The hotel is out on its own set right on the shore of loch fine. It has a small off road private car park. The hotel is very deceptive it looks small but is actually much larger.

The room was very clean and well maintained. View from the room was very nice and you could hear the water when the bedroom window was open.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. We opted for the bed breakfast and dinner offer. The dinner was phenomenal, 6 courses (all relatively small) but I could not fault any course, the flavours and presentation was excellent.

There is a bar adjoining the hotel with a good selection of beer and spirits, you can get dinner in the bar if you don't opt for b&b&dinner. The bar has a pool table and is animal friendly. I would recommend maybe booking a table if you were going to eat in the bar, although the hotel is out on its own it was quite busy in the bar.

(Motorcyclists, bring something for your side stand as the car park is gravel and depending where you park the side stand may sink slightly)

Excellent, would definitely return.

Used this hotel for a one night stop over for a motorcycle trip up the west coast of Scotland. The area is beautiful and the hotel is on the shores of loch Fyne. That is, right on the shore... we could hear the water when the bedroom window was open. A wonderful view from room 22. There is off road parking for motorbikes/cars in a small adjoining car park.
Our room was clean and tidy with tea and coffee etc.
The bar is welcoming and all the staff are very friendly. Dinner in the restaurant at £37 was six courses and was excellent.
I would return to this hotel if in the area again.

Room Tip: Twin room 22 has a great view down the loch.

We spent (unfortunately only) one night at Creggans Inn, our pit stop on our journey from Islay to Edinburgh.
Big, cosy rooms with great views of the Loch. Very nice lounge equipped with antique/vintage furniture. The same in the wonderful breakfast room with big, big windows. The perfect breakfast didn´t get our full attention because the stunning views of the Loch attracted us that much.
The food in the restaurant was excellent as well, and we were very pleased by the great service.

Great location for a relaxing stop - more than only one day!

Our superior double at a hefty £180 was very disappointing and distinctly old fashioned , not as viewed on your website. No designer wallpaper in room 12. Lumpy pillows and mattresses and a grubby white bed cover. The Dinner was dull , scallops ( one cut into three) overcooked , pigs cheeks under flavored ,vegetables uninspiring and why put an over ripe French cheese (totally inedible) on a cheeseboard in a land full of fabulous artisan cheeses? We had expected to eat in the dining room but as there were only two tables booked were told we would be eating in the bar, no nice table clothes or views but a damp smelling soulless anteroom . Breakfast was well below par , limited cold buffet , a mush representing fruit salad, dirty rimmed jam pots and serving dishes. The smoked haddock and poached egg was however excellent and the staff friendly . Did not manage our expectations and far too expensive. We had been previously to Marine hotel in Troon and Cameron House Hotel on loch Lommond where we had superior rooms and fabulous breakfasts AND spa facilities for the same price!!
We will not be returning to Creggins.

We've been staying at the Creggans regularly for a dozen years, first under the ownership to the Robertsons, and more recently under the ownership of the MacLellans. It has always been good, but recently we think it is even better than before. We stayed for a week both last November and then again this past August.

The location and view are, of course, superb. And the hotel has several marvelous rooms to enjoy these advantages, on the ground floor (including the formal dining room) and upstairs. There are also outside chairs and tables, very pleasant, weather permitting.

We have found a certain room we've recently stayed in several times to be quite pleasant, and since our previous stay its bathroom was remodeled. Clearly the MacLellans are not just coasting, but systematically improving the hotel. (A low wall in front of the hotel was also being upgraded during our last stay.)

We have found the service to be extraordinarily friendly and effective. One report here earlier that we noticed (a distinct minority of the reports) complained about it, but this report just has to be from malcontents. Instead, the MacLellans seem to have increasingly acquired the knack for hiring very competent and good folks.

Much of the Creggans experience revolves around the food. In the formal dining room, it has always been good to excellent. But, in our last two trips in the last 12 months, it seems to have gotten still better. They really do now have an excellent chef. (We wish the vegetable accompaniments were larger. And be prepared for a leisurely experience.)

Occasionally, we eat in the bar/bistro, and our experience here regarding food has been fine. The beer selection is sufficient. As for single malts, there is a good variety but, on our most recent visit at least, nothing particularly special. Just as well, otherwise I'd spend too much.

We give this hotel our highest praise.

We stopped here on for lunch spec. driving down from Oban - a nice bar, with separate restaurant at the rear, you could eat in either.

We had starters - two from the local produce selection of mackerel and scallops, which were both very nice. Main course choices were more 'traditional' pub options, done nicely: I had the steak pie, which came with lots of melt in the mouth meat. The steaks were also good. Service was friendly and efficient, with a nice little 'hotel dog' to play with on your way out :)

A nice alternative to the Loch Fyne restaurant, which had a long wait when we popped in. The fish courses were good and meal was nice overall - it would have been nice to see some more of those types of specials for the main courses as well.
