“Fantastic short break”
Reviewed 9 December 2013 via mobile

Just returned from an extremely short break at Creggans - overnight stop including dinner and breakfast. We had the run of the hotel to ourselves as it was a cold wet windy Scottish Sunday and normally a quiet night for country hotels.
We had room 3 which was absolutely, magnificent - spacious and beautifully equipped - with windows on all three sides - bed was huge and very comfy.

We retired to the warm cosy bar shortly after arrival and sat by a glowing log fire in the snug bar with drinks and the Sunday papers - bliss. Had dinner later on in the bar area which was a really fantastic meal - salmon and chicken from the main bar menu both delicious.

Breakfast was incredible - especially the Ayrshire bacon and Stornaway black pudding.

The staff and owners were utterly delightful - we will most certainly be back :-)

Only spent one night there but everything was most satisfactory. The room was spacious and well appointed. The food and service were both of a high standard, as was the real ale. The bar was cosy and they even bothered to get the log fire going in time for breakfast.

This is a first class hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean.Ours had a fabulous view over Loch Fyne. The ensuite bath and shower room was a delight to use. The food was delicious both in the bar and the restaurant, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
Definitely a place to revisit!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a loch view

Arrived late afternoon to a warm greeting on check in ,were personally shown to our rooms-(both
With a loch view-) which were spotlessly clean. Dining in mcphunn's bistro we enjoyed the most fabulous food sat in front of a roaring fire.Breakfast the next morning just as impressive including
What seemed to be home made marmalade. All in all a wonderfull one night stay, just wish it could have been longer.

Room Tip: A room with aloch view ,and book a table for dinner.

We just spent 3 nights at The Creggans Inn. The loch is delightful and just there - all your activities are dominated by the huge stretch of water outside the window. We managed two super little walks pretty close by - wonderfully managed forestry commission paths. Also two visits to Inverary - Castle and Jail - both worthwhile. Seafood everywhere is great, but the original Loch Fyne restaurant, a short drive away, is pretty special. And the hotel food is much better than you might have expected with an almost captive audience....service, menus and execution are really very good. Rooms ( we had two for the kids and us) were comfortable and spotlessly maintained. Recommended

Unfortunately we were only there for one night bed and breakfast. We were attending a function locally so could not enjoy the wonderful dinner menu. Having said that the breakfast was delicious, the room was exceptional and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Room Tip: We were in Room 8 - overlooking the loch, large and very comfortable. It was a beautiful room.
