“Fab holiday home.”
Reviewed 28 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We rented this home as two families for the February half term.

The booking was really easy and the owners extremely helpful and pleasant.

We arrived at the house after a long drive and your immediate impression is WOW, what a lovely looking property in beautiful grounds set just back from the shore of Loch Fyne in the village of Strachur. We were met by the owner and given a tour of the house.

Facilities here are fantastic, everything you'd need for a group of 10 ( a bit more crockery and pans would be useful), excellently laid out and acres of room that meant even though we were a large group there was always places to skulk off to. Most bedrooms were en suite and the one downstairs has an adjoining bathroom so no shortage of WC's or showers. Beds were comfortable but not luxurious, nevertheless more than ample. The shining crown for this house is the second lounge upstairs, what a delight, just two sofas looking out over a balcony to the lock....superb and the best place in the house.

To sum up, it is clear that this house is the pride and joy of the owners and a huge investment of time and money has been made to extend and renovate this house, although I would say the house does need some finishing points...some doors don't shut and small minor jobs to complete.

The location, accommodation size and views make this a fabulous vacation home and we will no doubt return.

Just one thought tho, 2 doubles and 2 twins would suit this property size better rather than 3 doubles and 1 twin...saves kids arguing. Ideal when the property is being shared by two families.

Many thanks for your very positive comments and thank you for highlighting the tremendous space that Ardfyne offers.
We did find a couple of faulty door locks on the en-suites and these have now been replaced.
Would love to welcome you back at some time in the future,

“Fantastic house in a beautiful location.”
Reviewed 6 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We had a wonderful stay at Ardfyne with extended family visiting from New Zealand, starting with a warm welcome from the owners in person. The house is lovely and was a very comfortable size for all 10 of us. We loved the upstairs deck and amazing views over the loch (and were blessed with super weather) and there was plenty of room for us all around the dining table each night. The kids also loved playing pool in the games room. Lots of little touches really impressed us, like the complimentary towels and linen and handwash in all the (mostly ensuite!) bathrooms, and plenty of comfy chairs and bean bags for lounging around.

The area itself was also fab, very beautiful, and we could have spent a lot longer exploring. We'll just have to go back!

Fantastic break in this fabulous house. Beautiful , big, luxurious accommodation with everything that we could have wished for available. Fabulous kitchen with double ovens and grills. This made catering for the whole party a piece of cake. Sitting on the porch taking in the gorgeous scenery with a wee glass of wine in hand was a taste of heaven. Owners approach is friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Would love to welcome you back. Great to hear that the very large kitchen is really being enjoyed and is making self catering easy for large groups.
A glass of wine and the view from the upper balcony is certainly something to enjoy at all times of the year.

“Fantastic property”
Reviewed 7 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Fantastic property, owners very welcoming and there to help with any questions you have.
Every amenity you need in the property, lovely views of the lake and even better from the glass balcony in the morning. Pub near by within 10mins walk, post office, local grocers and bistro within 5mins walking also. Very quiet but with enough to do walks and scenery amazing. Would definately go back here at some point. Thanks

Would love to welcome you back to Ardfyne. There is an amazing amount to do in the area. All of our guests really enjoy the peace and quiet but at the same time like to be able to just wander down to the pontoon and local village shop and restaurants so thank you for highlighting this.

“Amazing house with stunning views”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The house is so much more than we expected.so much space.
Rooms are massive, well equipped.dinning room table could fit everyone with room to spare. 2 ovens in the kitchen American fridge- freezer as well as built in fridge and freezer. we didn't struggle once for space / equipment .all fixtures an fittings were modern and up to date. With plenty of sockets around . The garage to the side mentioned in another review is no longer there. Garden with shrubbery is lovely ,totally in keeping with the area and the other gardens. The house is child friendly.
wifi a definite bonus too.
we found the owners couldn't have been more helpful, with milk etc to welcome us when we first arrived.
From the top balcony we had the pleasure of watching a group of deer which the children loved. We spent a lot of time at the loch ( you can buy fishing lines from the local shop for £1.50)this kept both adults and children amused for hours. Forest walks were amazing too. So much to do.

So pleased to hear that you really enjoyed your visit to Scotland and enjoyed the house and area. Was also interested to hear that you managed to see a lot of the surrounding area. Ardfyne is certainly in a very good location for exploring the west coast and beyond.
