“Need to learn about currys!”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Dropped in as I am a local to meet a business colleague for a bite to eat! We ordered a korma and a tikka masala and we got neither of these when served up. Not a hint of cream in the korma and we are still not sure what the tikka masala was. They would have been better selling it as a curry surprise as this is exactly what it was! Currys were good portions and came with poppadom and naan bread. Currys were tasty but disappointing at same time, ie not what we ordered. Some wine and beers made overall a good night! Don't let this put you off going, a good place.

We stayed at the Hilcroft from 7 - 9 March 2014 to attend a wedding reception there. The hotel does not have much in the way of kerb appeal but our room (no. 13) was a good size and had a huge bathroom (bath and separate shower). The room had a hairdryer, generous supply of tea, coffee and biscuits and free wifi.

We had a bar meal one evening which was good value and the cooked breakfast was extremely good.

The stand out point for the Hilcroft was the commitment to customer service. The staff went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Room Tip: Room 13 had good sized bathroom.

Have eaten in the bar/restaurant several times whilst the other half has attended conferences. The staff are the definition of how service sector staff should be. The food is top notch and great value. The bar is reasonably priced.

On the basis of our experiences we decided to stay over for a kids free night. We were not disappointed. The room, although not the most modern affair, was roomy, comfy, and most importantly clean. Check-in was swift. Staff were as friendly and helpful as ever.

We had the Sunday 3 course set meal in the evening. At £14.95 each it was exceptional value. I've been served far inferior grub for much more money at supposedly superior establishments. Breakfast was substantial and so tasty.

We will definitely stay again and may even take the kids! We would not hesitate to recommend the Hilcroft to anyone.

I can't thank the staff at the HIllcroft enough for the surprise 50th birthday dinner I booked for my Husband. (30 people)

The food was first class and staff were excellent - a credit to Best Western!!

I also stayed at the hotel with members of my family and the accommodation was perfect.

I would thouroughly recommend the hotel.
