We stayed 2 nights in room 5, a "Kentisbury suite", which is a large, light filled room with an excellent and spacious ensuite bathroom. Both were comfortable and stylish, but sound insulation could be better - we were woken at 6 30am by someone taking a long shower in a nearby room.

The restaurant and bar are in a separate building, which has the advantage that any noise from them cannot be heard in the hotel. The food, much locally sourced, is delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented. The staff are all very friendly and charming, although service suffered a bit on our second evening when the restaurant was much busier.

Kentisbury Grange is well positioned for exploring Exmoor and north Devon - don't miss nearby Arlington Court. Pity about the array of self catering lodges that line the drive, but I imagine they are needed from a business perspective. Dinner, bed and breakfast is certainly excellent value and it would be hard to find anywhere better to stay nearby.

I stayed at Kentisbury Grange as a Valentines getaway with my girlfriend. Honestly couldn't have chosen a better hotel. On arrival we were greeted by polite staff who made us feel very welcome right from the start. The room itself was incredible. It really was the perfect Valentines getaway, I can't recommend it enough.

This top class boutique hotel is tucked away in northern Devon and offers the very best service, accommodation and food that we have experienced in the UK. From the moment of arrival, the staff are committed to making your stay memorable. A really warm welcome is followed by being showed to a wonderful room, in our case very spacious with great views over the Devon countryside from two aspects. Everything in the room is of the highest quality from the bed and furnishings to the home made shortbreads continually topped up during our stay. The restaurant is a gem. Quite the best food we have tasted in the UK and that includes eating at some of the most highly recommended and famous restaurants in London. The quality of every course is brilliant and the value is exceptional. Strongly recommend a stay at this hotel or at the very least a meal at their restaurant.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the house on the first floor have the best views.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at Kentisbury Grange from 26th - 28th April and from the moment we arrived we received all the attention and assistance we could have wanted. The room was beautiful and the huge bathroom was so luxurious it took your breathe away when you first opened the door. We ate dinner in The Coach House restaurant, across the courtyard, and were served really great food by lovely efficient friendly staff. A really wonderful experience.
The location couldn't be better for touring North Devon especially when the weather is good.

Room Tip: We had Suite 9 and it was really beautiful.
