A outdoor TERRAZZA beckons to you to dine al fresco - it seems to transport you from Cabo to a lovely Italian country . The story behind the restaurant Il Cuore Di Napoli and chef Gianfranco Zappalá raised in Calabria but of mather Napoletana he learn to grasp the essence of the cuisine of the two regions, Bova Marina a rock that indicates the southern point of the Italian peninsula, in the interior part of the famous boot, in the region of Calabria, facing the Ionio sea and the isle of Sicilia, an area of a thousand stories of civilization, culture, great battles. This volcanic land produces the most exquisite flavors in all the Mediterranean area. Gianfranco Zappalá , executive chef of the restaurant began his love for the food of south Italy by the preparation and the secrets in the kitchens of his grandmothers. He learned the recipes conserved in his family by hundreds years continuing the traditions Napoletana and Calabrese. Fisherman and hunter by heart and by heritage, with a great passion for the sea, the mountain, and their fruits. He participated in his youth in the fishing, hunting and the elaboration of dishes of the earth & sea in the family restaurant and hotel Girasole, which still exists, to the delight of its multiple clients from the north of Europe. Gianfranco later operated a restaurant and disco at the "Monte Papagallo", in Bova Marina, a gorgeous place, surrounded by olive trees, owned by his family. In 1993, with anxieties to fly, he accepted the invitation from the corporative of the clothing designer and compatriot Giorgio Armani, to become Executive Chef in two of his restaurants ( Armani's Beverly Hills and Costa Mesa, California ), immediately Gianfranco's "grandmother's recipes became famous". His success extended to the consultancy of five Star restaurants in Phoenix, Sedona, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. The consulting firm offers a society to the first San Giovanni Restaurant, located in Anaheim Hills. In November 1997, attracted by the many stories from clients who shared his passion of fishing, they told him of a place, on the south of the Peninsula of Baja California, where the most exquisite tunas, mahi-mahi and marlins could be obtained from the Pacific, decided to visit this beautiful region, and fell in love with the rustic beauty, very similar to his home lands.Since March of 1998 Gianfranco, member of the F.I.C. (Italian Federation of Chefs), keeps his knowledge of Italian cuisine updated with some Master Chefs in Florence,NAPLES, Reggio Calabria and Rome, Italy. He has received a special recognition to preserve the culinary traditions as to innovate the dishes with modern ideas and the combination of ingredients of the old and new world. Gianfranco and his wife Hilda which is the sommelier invite you to relax in their cozy patio, at the most authentic style Italian Restaurant of this side of world, accompanied by live music. So, let take yourself by the flavors of the Mediterranean land... and remember, a glass of red wine with your dinner promotes a healthy life, so... Buon Appetito !!!

“Good food ruined by rudeness”
Reviewed 17 January 2014

Upon walking into this restaurant we were greeted by the pushy hostess who also was our waitress.
As we were seated she was annoyed that we asked for water of the house instead of bottled water as this can add up. As we ordered she proceeded to correct everyone's pronunciation of dishes ordered though she obviously knew what we wanted. Also there were helpers around that would not come to fill our glasses of water or pour our wine until she gave approval to do so and watched them very closely.
The owner or head chef came out to greet regulars or people of importance to him only. It seemed his goal was prove how Italian he was. As he would walk around never paying attention greeting other patrons. The food was good but the overall experience was disappointing .

“Fantastic Food - Great Ambience - Terrific Service”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

A very quaint Italian restaurant in the middle of Cabo. My wife wanted Italian and the concierge at our hotel (Capella Pegregal) suggested this restaurant. It has a cute inside area with about 6 tables, a few tables for two curbside, and a beautiful patio area in the back. The service was top notch. The food I would rate as very good. It was not the same Italian food I've had in LA or New York, but certainly the best I've had in Mexico. The owner is from southern Italy and his wife works there as a server. Very romantic. Would definitely recommend. Not sure why they are not rated higher for Cabo. I have been to Cabo about 5 times, and this was by far one of the finest dining experiences I have had in this city.

“Nice people, decent Southern Italian food”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

With our usual Italian spots booked for a last minute reservation, we decided to give this restaurant a try. It's apparently been around for quite a while. It's located diagonally across the street from Cabo Wabo. Upon entering, you find yourself in a courtyard dining area, offering surprising separation from the world outside. The overall feel is similar to an old-school suburban Italian restaurant in the states... Very 'kitschy': Slides of Southern Italy are projected against a courtyard wall, the chef comes out to sing often, huge menu, and so on. In terms of friendliness and special requests, the service cannot be faulted... Really nice people. The menu is VERY broad, red sauces being the specialty. The food was solid and comforting rather than authentic and impressive. The pizza was EXCELLENT, relatively thin crust with slight sweetness to the sauce. Veal Parmigiana a bit soggy, Cesar salad was decent with a 'bite' to the dressing, a few different pastas were good. Grated cheese was of the 'glass shaker' variety on the table. The wine list is pretty good, and like the menu a good value. We'll definitely return for the pizza!

“A great accidental find.”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Not sure why this place is not rated higher, so I will try to help them out. We looked at Cabo Wabo just to have the experience, but with their food menu lacking choices, we left and crossed the street, coming to CSGMM. There was nobody in there, but they had a Trip Advisor sign, so we took a chance. Loved it!!! We sat on the patio and were the only people there. The attentive wait staff kept us engaged and was at our call all throughout dinner. Ordered pizza, pasta and the bruschetta was gone in 30 seconds...amazing! Décor was traditional Italian, with a slideshow on the wall featuring Italian landmarks.

Marinara sauce was really good and the kids loved their pasta. Found the prices to be very reasonable and, as I did all trip, I over-tipped for the great service and holiday!

Must recommend this place if you are tired of drinking at Cabo Wabo and want great Italian food.
