We saw it on tripadvisor and then bumped into it walking down the main street. We had previously decided it was a must do because it was highly ranked but we were expecting a mexican restaurant not a massive long bar and a tiny tiny taco spot. It's really probably a great place to hang and drink a few beers but shouldn't be listed as a restaurant. We will go back for some beers but if it's food you want... It's not a happy ending.

Steve C:

I found your review about Happy Ending Cantina to be maliciously false, misleading and suspicious. You rated your review with a "Terrible 1-Star" rating and named it "Not a Restaurant, Tacos and Beer Good."

You wrote that you were expecting a "mexican (sic?) restaurant" but instead found a massive long bar and a "tiny tiny taco spot." You definitely DID NOT describe Happy Ending Cantina, maybe another Mexican restaurant, but NOT Happy Ending Cantina. Note that our name is "Happy Ending Cantina," NOT "Happy Ending Mexican Restaurant." We have TWO bars, not "a massive long bar." We also have several narrow back bars where people can sit and eat and/or drink. We also have 20 DINING TABLES with 80 CHAIRS for customers to sit and eat and/or drink. We have 5 full-time chefs that prepared delicious fresh Mexican and American food. We not only serve authentic Mexican tacos but lots of other types of Mexican food. If you had simply looked at our menu you would have seen that our selection of Mexican dishes is extensive

You wrote that you "saw (Happy Ending Cantina) on tripadvisor (sic) but we were expecting a mexican (sic?) restaurant not a massive long bar." If you had actually read Trip Advisor's profile about Happy Ending Cantina you would have seen EXACTLY the following accurate description:

"Restaurant details: Good for: Bar scene, Large groups, Special occasions, Entertaining clients, Dining on a budget. Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Takeout, Delivery, Late Night, Dessert. Description: Happy Ending's 5 full-time chefs prepare generous proportions of delicious food, always at affordable prices, in its completely new kitchen. We stumbled across this bar during a break from the resort and ended up staying for hours. It's a great hole in the wall, super comfortable chairs, tons of fans, and beer pong.

Adam B from Houston, Texas:

Thank you for writing such a wonderful concise review about Happy Ending Cantina. Thanks for also naming your review "Awesome Find!" and for rating it with all "5-Stars."

I've very happy that you discovered Happy Ending while taking a break from your resort and "ended up staying for hours." Happy Ending has that effect on many customers. They come in to have a few beers or cocktails, or to get something to eat, and end up staying many hours. We have 40 full-time employees that are, without a doubt, the best in the business. They all do their jobs exceptionally well and are hand-picked to make sure they each have outstanding customer service skills.

I appreciate you enjoyed our "super comfortable" bar stools. I personally absolutely hate sitting in tiny uncomfortable bar stools with tiny back rests. All our bar stools were custom made in Guadalajara, Mexico to our exact specifications. We had each stool built extra-wide with extra padding, with built in arm rests and high backs. Each stool is covered with leather and has a built-in foot rest. Many customers have asked me how they can contact the Guadalajara manufacturer so they can have chairs custom made for their own homes..

You described Happy Ending has having "tons of fans" and "beer pong." During August and September Cabo gets very hot and humid and we set up all our army of high-speed fans to keep our customers as cool as possible. Happy Ending is the only place in Cabo that has a minimum of 10 Beer Pong tables set up and ready for play 365 and 24/7. During Spring Break each year we set up all 18 Beer Pong tables and host Beer Pong tournaments. ALL our Beer Pong tables are custom built and are regulation size. Happy Ending is the Official Headquarters of the Baja Division of the Mexican Beer Pong League.

I hope you can find the time and the means to return soon to Happy Ending.

You live in beautiful and historic Houston, the largest city in Texas, and the fourth largest in the United States. In 1836, two real estate entrepreneur brothers from New York, Augustus Chapman Allen and John Kirby Allen, purchased 6,642 acres of land along Buffalo Bayou with the intent of founding a city. The Allen brothers decided to name the city after Sam Houston, the popular general at the Battle of San Jacinto in Texas' fight for independence from Mexico. In 1836, Houston was elected President of the Republic of Texas. Houston was incorporated as a city in 1837. In the 19th century, a burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with the discovery of oil in 1901, induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-20th century, Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center, the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions, and home of NASA's Johnson Space Center where the Mission Control Center is located.

Best wishes for lots of "Awesome" type of Happy Endings to all your endeavors, hopes and dreams wherever life's journeys might take you.

Went to this place and enjoyed the 2 big shots of tequila and 2 beers for 5$. No pretense here, just a cool place to hang out and drink for no apparent reason. Bartenders were cool, clients were cool and magic was cool.

I really enjoyed reading the title you gave your review, "Good Idea To Tie One On." Thank you very much for rating your review with "5-Stars" And for all the wonderful comments you wrote.

I'm pleased that you enjoyed our "2 big shots of tequila and 2 beers for $5." We call this drink combination our "Promo." Promo's consist of your choice of 2 ice cold, full-size bottles of Corona, Corona Light, Pacifico, or Pacifico Light AND 2 huge double shots of our super-smooth, pure agave tequila. The everyday REGULAR PRICE of Promos is always only $5....for ALL 4 drinks....today, tonight, all day and all night tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, 365 and 24/7. Note that we never sell the cheap unpopular brands of beers at Happy Ending. We only carry the world's most popular brands of Mexican beers. Caveat Emptor!

Thank you for describing Happy Ending has having "no pretense," "just a cool place to hang out and drink," with "cool bartenders," "cool clients" and "cool magic."

Please return to Cabo as soon as you can find some free time and the means so you can enjoy more of Happy Ending's "coolness."

You live in the beautiful and historic city of Denver, Colorado. In 1858, General William Larimer founded the area where Denver was later to be built. He named the area "Denver City" to curry favor with James W. Denver, the Governor of close-by Kansas Territory. Ironically, Larimer was not aware that Governor Denver had already resigned and no longer had political power when he officially named the small town "Denver City." Denver City was a frontier town, with an economy based on servicing local miners with gambling, saloons, livestock and goods trading. In 1861, the Colorado Territory was created and Denver City was officially incorporated. Six years later, Denver City became the Capital of Colorado Territory. With its new found importance, the residents of Denver City voted to shorten its name to "Denver" rather than than keeping the longer, and redundant name "City of Denver City." In 1876, Colorado became a State of the United States of America. Denver is nicknamed the "Mile-High City" because its official elevation is exactly one mile, or 5,280 feet, above sea level. The 105th meridian west of Greenwich, England passes through Denver's Union Station and is the temporal reference for the "Mountain Time Zone." The Mountain Time Zone is also shared by Cabo San Lucas as is the entire Mexican State of Baja California Sur where Los Cabos is located.

Best wishes for having lots of "Cool" Happy Endings to all your endeavors, hopes and dreams wherever life's journeys wherever life's journeys might take you.

Went here about 5x on my trip to Cabo. Very nice bartenders. 5 dollars for two beers and two 2oz shots of 50 proof tequila. It's intentionally touristy/gimmicky/tacky with about 5 grand in signed 1 dollar bills from tourists and bras/panties signed by patrons that are all stapled into various posts and spots on the ceiling. Plenty of space and several tables on which to play drinking games. Free cups are provided for games which is pretty cool. Clean bathroom and fun environment. Owner is always there greeting customers. Free wifi and free vonage phone if you need to call home.

Thank you very much for rating your detailed review about Happy Ending Cantina with "5-Stars" and for naming it "Very Cheap Beer." I greatly appreciate ALL your wonderful comments and recommendations.

Thank you for writing such a great review that points out many of the little things that make Happy Ending the most popular and highest rated bar in Cabo San Lucas. Some of the things you described about Happy Ending were that we have "very nice bartenders," a "fun environment," "clean bathrooms," and "free WiFi" and "free" long distance phone calls to more than 60 countries.

Many customers, such as yourself, enjoy paying only $5 for our "Promo." Each Promo consists of 2 ice cold bottles of Corona, Corona Light, Pacifico or Pacifico Light AND 2 huge double shots of our delicious, super-smooth, pure agave tequila. That's 4 full-size "real" drinks for the everyday price of only $5. Without a doubt, it's the best deal you'll find in Cabo and is quite possible the best deal in the history of mankind!

Because you visited Happy Ending 5 times during your recent vacation to Cabo San Lucas you are now an Official Member of our Happy Ending Family! Repeat customers are the life-blood of every successful business. Thank you very much for visiting so often and for encouraging so many others to visit Happy Ending as well.

Thanks for pointing out that I'm "always there greeting customers." I can't be at Happy Ending "all the time" because we're open between 16 and 18 hours everyday of the year. But when I'm in Cabo, which is almost all the time, I spend between 8 and 12 hours each day onsite meeting and greeting our customers. We truly have the best and most fun loving customers in the world. As you pointed out, we encourage anyone who wishes to personalize paper currency to do so which we then affix to our ceilings. Customers have estimated we now have between 8,000 and 10,000 bills adorning our walls and ceilings.

Happy Ending is the Official Headquarters of the Baja Division of the Mexican Beer Pong League. We always have at least 10 custom built, regulation size, Beer Pong tables set up ready for play. During Spring Break we set up all 18 Beer Pong tables and host winner-takes-all tournaments. Many customers use our Beer Pong tables to play Flip Cup.

You're very fortunate to live in such a beautiful and historic city as San Diego, California. In 1602, Explorer Sebastián Vizcaíno was sent by Spain to map the Pacific coast of Mexico, the Baja California Peninsula and parts of Alta California. The incredibly beautiful desert and dormant volcanoes that comprise the land in the center of the Baja Peninsula, located between the towns of Guerrero Negro on the Pacific Ocean and Santa Rosalia on the Mar de Cortez, is named the "Vizcaíno Desert." Vizcaíno arrived in San Diego and mapped its beautiful natural harbor and bays. Vizcaíno named the area "San Diego" after "Saint Didacus," a Spaniard more commonly known as "San Diego de Alcalá."

Best wishes for having lots and lots of "Great" Happy Endings to all your hopes and dreams wherever life's journeys might find you.

Jennifer J from Scottsdale, Arizona:

Thank you for writing your very first Trip Advisor review about Happy Ending Cantina and for rating it with "5-Stars." All your comments are very much appreciated, especially since you wrote "We'll Be Back!" in the title of your review. The entire Happy Ending crew and I are looking forward to spending more time with you when you return. Please try and make it soon.

I enjoyed reading your wonderful descriptions of Happy Ending: "Excellent service," "reasonable prices," " fun staff," and "good times."

You live in beautiful and historic Scottsdale, Arizona, whose modern downtown was recently described by the New York Times as "a desert version of Miami's South Beach" and as having "plenty of late night partying and a buzzing hotel scene." Scottsdale's slogan is "The West's Most Western Town." In the early to mid 1880's, U.S. Army Chaplain, Winfield Scott, visited the area and realized its potential for agriculture. In 1888, Winfield returned with his wife, Helen, and purchased 640 acres of land where the Downtown Scottsdale is now located for the paltry sum of only $3.50 an acre. Winfield and Helen, and Winfield's brother, George Washington Scott, became the first residents of the town. The town back then was known as "Orangedale," due to the large citrus groves planted by the Scott brothers. Many of Orangedale's original settlers, who were living in the East and Midwest, were recruited to move west by the Scott brothers. In 1894, Orangedale's name was changed to "Scottsdale" after its founder, Winfield Scott.

Best wishes for having lots and lots of "We'll Be Back" type of Happy Endings to all your endeavors, hopes and dreams wherever life's journeys might take you.
