“Not the same”

I have had two delux suites for several years. We struggled to get poolside service. Chairs were covered and unavailable for hours. Out of 7 days we got reasonable chairs for one day. We did not do all inclusive so would have thought our waiters would have wanted to serve us because in past we have been 20 percent tippers. Of note David at the pool was fantastic and really tried to help. It seemed that many came from sunset beach and took up all the space. A few good notes - room service was pretty good and fast. The deli was helpful.

We were used to a higher class of service. Would put this at a best western or holiday inn level. Other things that have changed over the years - furniture is broken down. Couch was to saggy to sit on. They quit heating the pool about three years ago. Everytime I ask about it people just shrug their heads.

Also. For our entire visit the movies were out. No explanation or compensation offered. One more thing - food not as described. The Asian robata grill night had no robata grill. Food was ok but like a low price Asian buffet .

In past we have rarely left the resort but went to dinner at the one and only pamilla. 100 x better. Food no more expensive. Not overcrowd. Very accomadating. We are checking rates there.

All in all our experience was bad enough that even if we lose money, we will not likely stay at the Rose unless they have assurances to return to what they were. Loved them in the past.
Mimi

Room Tip: Presidential suite good

My wife and I have stayed and traveled for the last 24 years and this was a first as far as a bad review or any review... hope I can help other people avoid this place.
Do not waste your time staying here if you have been to RIU's or similar hotels that are All-Inclusive .
1). The only all-inclusive place I know that you have to sign a tab after every drink or food order taken. That is if you can get the bartenders to serve you. 2 drink limit per person at any time maximum allowed. Bartenders seem miserable compared to other bartenders at other all-inclusive resorts over the years that my family and I stayed.
2). You have to wait and make a reservation to be seated for meals as several tables sit open.
3). Had a waiter tell us we were ordering too much Sushi and it would go to waste...so we ended up ordering twice and waiting 50 more minutes.
4). The refridgerators are empty... not even bottles of water.
Went the cheap route on this vacation and made a huge mistake...Never Again!!!

This is our 4th trip to the "Rose" in the last 3 years. We booked to an upgraded room (2 rooms) from our usual Jr. Suite. We arrived 6-10-14, we were greeted by Hugo and Iliana at the front desk who were gracious and expedited us to our room. WE were excited to see our upgrade but hated the room (5034) when we arrived. We were not in love the bedroom being by a window next to the public walkway (it seemed more motel'ish to us), the living room/kitchen was expected, but are only view was of the other side of the resort building with no real view of the Ocean. We went back and talked to Hugo at the front desk, but we were told he was unable to move us that night but tomorrow Iliana maybe able to do something (Hugo was off). They did move us to Jr. Suite the next day (we requested it) with a view. Thanks Hugo and Iliana.

Since we have been here before the Resort was as expected. Yes it is a bit dated and needs an update but the Company has their money tied into other resorts for now, but I have read there are plans to updated both the Rose and Blanca in the future. The plus about this Resort is it's a short walk/cab ride ($8) to town or the Marina. If you wanting 5 star, stay at the other resorts that are out in the middle of nowhere and a $20-$30 cab ride back to Cabo.

The only real complaint we had was that the service at the Pool and Restaurants at both Resorts were slow. We did make friend with a Restaurant Mgr. who told us they are usually not that busy in June so they laid off some worker, but the got busy again, and It sounded to us that unlike where we live you just don't call someone to work for a day or two. We did have bad service at Cilantro's (Blanca) twice in a row with the same server ( he made us feel we were putting him out by having him wait on us), we told the manager who talked to the person. We are easy to get along with and did get over it. Heck, we ate at Cilantro's 4 time while there. It's good.

We did enjoy ourselves while there as usual. It would be nice if they served Bud Light, but we are in Mexico. We will return again soon and are looking forward to it.

Room Tip: The lower numbered rooms are closer to the Ocean. Room ending in 7-13 are good.

We love Rose! Just returned with a group of 17 (10 being first timers). Everyone
had a great time. Staff is very gracious and helpful, we see many staff year after
year. Hotel grounds are lovely and well kept. Rooms and building are continually
being updated/painted and always looking good. Good for singles, families and
couples. You can do everything or nothing at all either on the beach or within
the hotel. The new activities staff is GREAT!!! We really had fun with them. Already
looking at the 2015 calendar for our return trip!

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor toward the lobby for the best views.

We just got here 3 hours ago.
Our room is shabby, and dated. The AC rattles loudly and blows out stinky air. I asked for someone to come and fix it, they did not bother. I unpacked and was looking at the drawers, one sniff and I put my clothes back in the suitcase. They stink.
The internet here is $16 a day, per device (!) the only free option is free wifi near the deli with 56k speeds. The prices here at the restaurants are ridiculously high, and even the activities (a Zumba class) are $15 a class. They give you pool towel cards you use to get a towel, if you lose a towel $
they will put a $25 fee on your bill. Oh, and the hotel staff are indifferent, uninterested.

This is our second year at this resort. The staff here is wonderful and very helpful and accommodating. Linda and Stephanie are very cool at the pool too! The staff in the spa are very nice as well. There is a fabulous restaurant just walking distance from this resort called "Peacocks" which has amazing food, a beautiful atmosphere and they were extremely willing to work with us as my husband has very very strict dietary needs. Chef is amazing!! Looking forward to coming back next summer to Pueblo Bonito Rose for another fun vacation.. You guys ROCK!! ( I don't know to translate that into Spanish!!)

Just returned from a family vacation and stayed at Pueblo Bonito Rose. Resort and rooms were clean, the large variety of food was very good, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. A SPECIAL thanks to Guadalupe Armenta who served us while we were on the beach. He was quick to help, friendly and made us feel very welcome. Each day we returned to the beach, we were glad to see him. And a big thanks to Fermin, Aldo, Sandy and Angel who worked at the bar. They were awesome! We didn't do much but layout by the pool or beach, and went into town to shop. Our goal was to RELAX! But there were lots of activities available (jet ski, fishing, etc.) if that's what you're looking for. I would definitely stay here again.
