“Trip review Aug 4 -11”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Hello Everybody,

This is my first Trip Advisor review.

I just got back from my honeymoon in Cabo. We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Rose through RCI.
We signed up for AI for $97 a day, buy 5 get the last two free. Unfortunately their AI can't be used at Sunset Beach. The first day our server was Jeovani he was fantastic! worked his but off and we tipped him well and the awesome service kept coming. Margarito at Blanco is also a great server.

The resort itself was great we were on the fifth floor and more towards the left side. Room 5011. Great view of the pool and ocean.

The only negatives I have regarding Pueblo would be that they wouldn't let us do the timeshare presentation to get resort credit because we were... too young?!? I was always under the impression you had to be 25 which I am but now it's 30. I was baffled. I make a great living and had interest in taking the tour and possibly buying but to be turned away for being too young just struck a nerve.

Anyway I digress. After about 4 days of Rose food we ventured out and went to Happy Endings Cantina, 2 double shots and 2 beers for $5.00! The rest of the day was quite foggy.

Other bars we ventured to were very stereotypical first time to Cabo spots, Senor Frogs, Giggling Marlin, Cabo Wabo, The Office, and Solomon's Landing. You can't beat sticking your feet in the sand while eating breakfast or any meal at the office.

As far as activities we went on the snorkel tour with Cabo Adventures with was wonderful. An hour ride out to Chilano bay, an hour of snorkeling, then an hour of what I thought was just dinner turned into a raging booze cruise. So much fun!

We were looking to do tandem parasailing but started running low on money. That's when we met a guy on the marina from Cabo Villas he said he could get us parasailing and a sunset dinner cruise for $45! We agreed and went to the presentation the next morning.

Oh boy Cabo Villas blew us away. The rooms were immaculate and beautiful. The pools were great too. An infinity pool with swim up bar, an adults only pool and another pool with a fantastic view. Then they brought to lions den where they put on the hard sell. I was stone cold in saying no no no. The offers got better and better. NO NO NO, but then I looked over at my wife and knew she was hooked.

We took a minute away from the sales guys and she said, "I love Cabo it's where we are for our honeymoon and I want to take many more trips here to have more Honeymoons with you." Uh oh. I still wanted to say no, but as the old say goes, happy wife happy life, so we said yes.

After that we signed and popped champagne and they gave access to the pool and restaurant the rest of our trip.

It wasn't until the last day that we went to the sixth floor to Baja Brewery and found the best view in all of Cabo! It was breath taking. It is a must for any romantic vacation. Especially if you are beer lovers. We are from Portland so to sign at the resort with the only Microbrewery in all of Baja was very cool.

We also got to do the parasailing trip through Aries Water Sports which was a blast.

See you soon Cabo

Alex - Portland, Oregon

My family just returned from a week-long stay at this resort. The service from the bell staff was outstanding from the moment we arrived. Alberto in particular was incredibly attentive throughout our stay. The housekeepers also kept our rooms (we had two to accommodate the entire family) exceptionally clean - no small task given our daily visits to the beach and the amount of sand that we unwittingly brought with us each day.

The property itself though, needs to be refreshed as it is a little outdated. Also, I wouldn't choose this property again for a stay with young children. The pool had many loud, drunk partiers.

The location was great - right on Medano Beach, steps away from all kinds of water sports and great restaurants (The Office).

We had access to the other Pueblo Bonito properties and we loved the pools and spa at the Sunset.

We just came back from a stay at Pueblo Bonito Rose from Aug 3-Aug 10. We used our timeshare and traded via RCI to use this property. We are a couple in our mid-thirties and brought with us my step-daughter (18) and her friend (20). We reserved two studio suites and when we went to check-in we asked that they be adjoining for safety purposes. There was no problem accommodating this and it worked out well for us. We had rooms 1023 and 1024. There was a full fridge, a coffemaker, dishes, cupboard space and two burners. All you need to keep you happy for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Most nights we either walked into town (about 10 mins to the marina) and ate. We did eat at Fellini's on the resort which was very good and NOT mexican food. You will get sick of eating Mexican for every meal! We did not do the all-inclusive and ate at the breakfast buffet the first day before our Wal-Mart trip. It was not worth the money. We also tried the dinner buffet at Grill Night- also not worth the money. The staff at the pool and the beach were amazing- always made sure you had what you needed! Happy hour is from 11- 12 and 3-4 each day and they bring you two drinks at once! It's great!!! The vendors on the beach can be annoying but when you say no thank you they leave you alone. The waves on the beach make it hard to swim and relax so we spent more time at the pool. We used the concierge to book a snorkeling trip on the boat Oceanus ($55pp) and it was a nice trip. We booked our ATV tour through cabosanlucastours.com and it was cheaper and wonderful! Please feel free to ask any questions I can answer!! Oh, and a short beach walk to Mango Deck and The Office!

Room Tip: Not sure about upper suites but we were a little worried about a first floor room but it was no prob...

Service was poor except for Margarito Miranoa, I was going to cancel my all inclusive until finding Margarito. Also A/c was not very good, they worked on it twice and had it cold for about 12 hours. No swim up bar

Everything about this property is amazing. Clean, friendly, perfect location, right on the beach, etc. If you are lucky enough to sit in Israel's section at the pool you have hit the jackpot! He is so kind, extremely attentive and provides the most complete, quick service. Day one, we were not. Day 2 we met Israel. From then on we made a point of getting down to the pool to insure we were properly located for the BEST service ever. Can't say enough about Israel. He absolutely made our trip just that much better. Thank you Pueblo Bonito. And a huge thank you to Israel!

Just got back from Pueblo Bonito Rose and as I said there were lots of ups and downs. Let's start with the good I really enjoyed the pool. Our family decided to do the all inclusive which is great if you are going to stay in the resort. Our pool waiter was great, I recommend that you look for him his name is Wilver. He was very attentive and knew us the end of the week. He super by far. Our room was always super clean with clean towels everyday. Thanks to Rebecca. There was always lots of food for breakfast which was our favorite time. Our waiter which already knew us so his service was great and tended to sit with him Alonso.

Now the not so good, the service to get your drinks or attention to be sited or even the check was super slow. If you are not anglo forget it you are treated with less urgency. Also i wish their menu included more traditional mexican food. Got a bit tired of the same food.

The hotel is nice but old, rooms are big, with a frig and kitchenette. Front desk was helpful and quick during check in and out...Location was good, right on the beach, could see Lands End...close to shopping and downtown Cabo, you could walk 5 minutes to marina. We did not get the all inclusive because we wanted to get out and see more of the town, but when we did eat at the Rose the food was good. Everyone there and in Cabo expects a tip! Tips ! Tips! Tips!

I felt safe the entire time in Cabo, which was a concern for me since its been 15 years since ive traveled anywhere in mexico...so I will come back much sooner. Everyone speaks English and is very helpful. I probably wouldnt stay here again because there are nicer newer resorts closer to town and I would never come in July...unbearably hot and humid.
