We chose this hotel as we had a wonderful time at the same resort in Dominican Republic. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed the same level of service. This place is a lot lot bigger than dom rep. The spa, swimming with dolphins is a must. I even took part in the karaoke much to the embarrassment of my kids :)

Bahia, pretty much had it all. Early morning coffee shop (don't count on punctuality!), great restaurant, pool (1 meter deep, warm, but still refreshing), pool bar, hammocks and great service.

They do have pretty good wifi, as advertised, but you have to be in the lobby or the pool bar (such tribulations!) to access it. We had the basic-single room, and it was spacious, cool (97 F outside), and had a great shower and a comfortable bed. Plenty of English television and, of course, the Simpson's dubbed in Spanish.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. We took a cab one night, but other than that just walked to the beach and marina even with the midday heat.

Great time, I'll stay there again.

I booked the Bahia Hotel for a stay for myself and two 18 year old ladies. The reason I chose the Bahia was due to the great location to the beach, marina and other hot spots in the area. Our stay was fabulous the staff, especially Matias were always helpful and very friendly I really like the smaller hotel as I've stayed at many of the larger hotels and just really preferred this over the big mega resorts. The bedding and rooms were very comfortable and clean. We can't wait to return to the Bahia!

Room Tip: Rooms on the lower levels have been renovated very nicely!

Thank you for your review. I am happy to agree with you and tell you that Matias is a great employee. We feel that personalized service is critical to guest satisfation. He is at the front door to help with anybodys needs or questions, and welcome our gusts.
I also agree with you that we are very different from the large hotels. We like to get to know our guests and help create memories for a lifetime.

We loved our stay at the Bahia! My husband and I just got back from a trip to Cabo for our anniversary, and we really appreciated the small, boutique feeling of the Bahia. Perfect for couples. All of the staff were friendly and very accommodating - immediately we felt at home there. Matias was excellent - he always greeted us with a smile and was so friendly. Maria at the pool bar also gave us great service! It was just nice to see familiar faces around greeting you around the hotel.

We stayed in a poolside room, which was very nice - very spacious. Beds were comfy! The pool area was very nice. We loved how convenient it was to order food by the poolside - the short rib pizza is out of this world - we split it for lunch 3 times during our 4 night stay (if you can't tell how much we liked it!). Drinks were 2 for 1 by the pool, which was a great plus.

We had one fancy dinner at the restaurant - Bar Esquina. It is a bit pricey - but honestly worth it if you want an excellent meal. Service at the restaurant was also very good - the manager came by and chatted with us and other tables, which was nice.

Best of all I think was the value of this hotel for the location and small, friendly feel. It's a super quick little walk down to Medano Beach and all of the beach spots - Billygans, Mango Deck, Baja Cantina, etc. Also, it was a short walk to the Marina - we never felt too far away from any of the action in town or on the beach. We would absolutely return here and recommend to anyone. Thanks, Bahia, for making our trip so comfortable and welcoming! We were so sad to leave.

Stayed a couple of nights at the Bahia on a return trip to Cabo to look at some condos in town. The hotel is about 5-blocks from the marina/mall/downtown area and a block from Medano beach area. I liked the fact that it was near everything, but if you were in the property and around the pool, things were pretty calm. A block away down the hill is crazy beach area with restaurants and booze scene. About 10-minutes away your at the marina or in the middle of downtown for food and clubs.

If you want to be close to everything but maybe something a little more quiet, romantic and laid-back in the city - this would be a good choice.

The hotel is redone and they picked the perfect style. Modern stone and concrete in the redone rooms. I had a room on the first floor (which is actually one floor below the lobby). It opened right onto the pool with a nice little patio separating it. It was really cool because I had the ability to walk right through my sliding glass patio door, across my own little private patio and be in the pool within about 20 steps. The pool scene is really hip and laid back. Its a decent size pool for the hotel and plenty of loungers including a many doubles for couples. I was there mid-week and it was not crowded at all. Got there later one afternoon and other than fighting through a bunch of tweeners horsing around, chilled with some cold beers and caught up on some reading.

The room was big enough with an old-style charm. Very stucco with cool concrete counters throughout. Light wall with dark wood accent and wood floors. Lots of cubby holes, nice microwave and mini fridge. It is loaded with snacks, sodas, mixers and waters (for sale of course). Bathroom had a ceramic sink on top of concrete counter on with a separate toilet/walk-in shower area. Behind you at the mirror was a decent sized closet with a little wall safe. The toilet/walk-in shower area was smallish, but the shower itself was good sized.

Had a queen bed that was comfortable with good linens. Slept well though could hear some water pipes and such on occasion. Decent newer TV with lots of Spanish stations but 5 or six English speaking for news and sports check.

The on-site restaurant was very good. Had breakfast both mornings and dinner one night. Very good but you do pay high-end prices.

The area is safe and quiet. The evening I wandered the block down the hill and ate at the Baja Café on the beach. Good food but great view and it was Fiesta night so a good show. Then wandered to town through the marina to enjoy a few of the clubs. Again, mid-week so kind of laid back but still lots of people having a good time.

Travel from airport is about 45-minutes. I took airport transfers from Cabo Transfers. Very prompt and $38 round trip.

Room Tip: Get something on floor 1 that has a patio to the pool.

Thank you for your review. I don't think I could have written a better review. it is very helpful to our potential guests in making a decision to stay at the Bahia. You have pointed out several critical decisions in evaluating the hotel.
Clean, location, and service. All of which are at the root of the guest experience at the Bahia .

Stayed here for 8 Nights in Late Nov 2012. The hotel is in an excellent location and close to both the beach and the Marina. I opted for a poolside room which was a good size and direct access to the poolside area. The hotel staff were very accommodating and provided a superb service. The best aspect about the Hotel is the restaurant which serves up top quality food in a superb environment with a great ambience. I ended up eating here every night almost as the food was so good. Even if your not staying at the Hotel eat here as you will otherwise be missing out on a great Cabo experience. Highly recommended!!!!!!

Room Tip: Opt for a poolside room!!!!!!!

This hotel is a good value and in a good location for accessing the center of town, Medano Beach and the marina - all are just a short walk away. We had a Classic room, which apparently means a room that hasn't been remodeled, but it was kept neat and clean. We only had two issues with the room. It has a kitchenette (sink, stove, small refrigerator, but no coffeemaker), but there was no kitchen lighting so you could really only use it when there was sufficient daylight coming through the sliding glass doors on the balcony. The other issue was the door separating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom was slats of bamboo which did not afford much privacy. The hotel advertises free Wifi, but doesn't tell you that it is only available in the common areas such as the lobby. There is a free computer in the lobby to use and free calls to the US from your room, both of which were a nice touch.
The pool area was nice and kept clean. There is a swim up bar and the drinks were two for one for $10, unless you used the drink coupons we received, then they were $10 each. They also have a small coffee bar with fabulous fresh baked muffins that is priced about like a Starbucks. However, the restaurant - Bar Esquina - is way over-priced. We got charged almost $33 US for a cheeseburger and large bottle of water, so we ate dinner elsewhere.
