“Stay at the Bahia!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014

I stayed in Cabo at the Bahia for two nights with a friend and cannot recommend it enough. The hotel’s location is perfect; a block from the beach and a very short walk to the bars and clubs. It had a warm and trendy feel and the staff went to every effort to make sure that our stay was pleasant. We were so impressed with the hotel’s restaurant, Bar Esquina, that we ate dinner there both nights. There was live music, a great crowd, and it felt like a restaurant you might find in Los Angeles’ Manhattan Beach or Santa Monica with a Mexican flair. The food was contemporary and delicious. We had an amazing vegetable and ricotta dish that I plan to attempt making at home - it was a perfect combination of ingredients. They also gave us a basket of different breads made on-site at the beginning of the meal, which were fantastic. The hotel had a small coffee shop where we ate breakfast in the morning and grabbed coffee in the evening. It had every comfort of home including almond milk and a variety of smoothies. The hotel rooms were comfortable, simple, and had a fridge, which was very useful. Overall we were astounded that this hotel exists for the price we paid. The Bahia would be my first choice, cost notwithstanding. That it is a bargain on top of it all just sweetens the deal.

Our company JusCollege recently acquired CaboSpringBreak. We we're lucky enough to work with the Bahia Hotel & Beach Club our first year running the program. We would like to thank the Bahia for accommodating our clients during the 2014 Spring Break season in Cabo. In total, Bahia hosted more than 1,200 students. We heard very positive feedback as the hotel has a great location just steps from the beach and their staff offered our customers exceptional service. We look forward to working with Bahia Hotel and Beach Club for the upcoming 2015 Spring Break season and we hope, many years to come.

We enjoyed our 9 night stay at the Bahia and would return, provided we were able to book our room at a decent price.

The location is excellent if you want to be very close to Medano Beach. Only a 7 minute walk to the marina. Plenty of food options nearby and its close to the mall too. It’s about a 15 minute walk to get right into the heart of Cabo’s nightlife district. It’s perfectly located.

The hotel itself is older than many of the surrounding hotels, but it’s very well maintained. And it’s extremely well cleaned. Staff is always mopping and sweeping and cleaning.

When reviewing the Bahia, I think it’s important to note that it’s a three-and-half star hotel. And at that level, this is an exceptional hotel. However if you are looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel, then the Bahia will have some short-comings.

The staff is very helpful and friendly and the service level is very good for a three star hotel. The room fixtures and accommodations are also very good for a three star hotel, but not up to the standards of a good 4 star or 5 star. The pool, Jacuzzi and swim-up bar is a big bonus for a 3 star hotel, but again, not as spectacular as a 5 star hotel’s pool.

An added bonus the Bahia has is use of the exercise room at the ME Hotel. There is also free use of a beach club, but since you have to purchase food or beverage, it’s not really any better deal than any other beach club you will see.

We experience a couple days at the tail-end of Spring-Break. I might recommend not staying here during Spring-Break, because the place got over-run by drunken Spring-Breakers. However I must say the staff and security do a fantastic job of dealing with these kids. They let them do their thing, but once the sun goes down or if things get out of hand, the staff takes a no-nonsense approach to them. A few bad reviews by Spring-Breakers are probably a good thing to see if you happen to stay at this hotel without realizing its Spring-Break time.

We stayed in an older un-renovated room, and I thought it was perfect. It consisted of a Queen Bed, a balcony, a TV, A/C, a fan, a modernized bathroom (although the door was bamboo sticks, so not entirely private, though we were not concerned), a kitchen with a stove and a small refrigerator. The kitchen was not well equipped, but you could request things like a coffee maker or microwave if you wanted them.

The hotel does offer safes, but they are not kept in the room, rather the safes are located in a locked room, with a sign-in procedure. It’s likely more secure than having a safe in your room, but not as convenient. I used this free service and had no issues.

I would recommend shopping around for deals online for this hotel, because I think the listed price might be a bit high. But deals can be found online.

This hotel well exceeded my expectations for a 3-and-a-half star hotel. We enjoyed our time at the Bahia and will return, although we will probably avoid Spring-Break.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Bahia while in Cabo for a wedding at Casa Dorada. Casa Dorada is right on the beach and Bahia is right behind it, so it is a short walk around Casa to get to the beach. Don't even attempt walking THROUGH Casa Dorada to get to the beach, bc those snobby people won't allow it. Right down the street from Bahia is also a market to buy beer, water, etc...
Our room at the Bahia was very large and had a nice kitchenette with a fully stocked fridge as well. It also had a nice patio. The room was very comfortable.
Bar Esquina is the bar/restaurant that is attached to the hotel and is lively and has delicious food! I recommend eating there.
The pool at Bahia is also very nice, and was quiet when we were there. Very few people there both times I went down to the pool instead of the beach. However, there were a couple of times I needed someone at the swim-up bar and no one ever came out.
If you don't want a massive resort type hotel, I like the location and value of this modern "boutique" type hotel.

This hotel is one block back from the beach, behind all the beachfront properties. It's perfect, the walk to the beach is maybe 50 mtrs. There is a chemist and convenience shop across the road and the laundry is a couple of blocks away. The front desk staff are really not that helpful as the spring breakers have said in their reviews. We almost got conned with our airport transfers, but I was able to prove payment and the matter was sorted. They do allow freeloaders as well - laying out at the pool were local ex-pats who tip the staff well so that they can use the pool, towels and order food & drinks. We also had a few issues with the toilet and nobody ever turned up to fix it. We ate in the hotel a few times and we didn't have any issues with the prices and the food was reasonable quality.

Thank you for yur review. This is a challanging time of year due to our location during spring break but we do our best to treat every guest the same and provie a great experience. As far as the pool we do not have outsiders using the facility, and all guest have to registar there friends.

Our family and some friends stayed at this hotel during our wedding week. The location is so conveniently located near The Office, Mango Deck, and Edith's Restaurant. It was very nice to be able to walk to our favorite locations as well as Medano Beach. The staff there was VERY helpful. Dustin and Mathis were very helpful and provided a lot of great suggestions for us and our friends. The food at the Bar Esquina Restaurant was delicious. The live band at night were definite crowd pleasers. Even my mother in law looked forward to watching the band play! The food and drinks are a little pricy but worth it! We read a lot of great reviews about their pizza prior to arriving there and it is true. Their pizza are AMAZING! Ricardo and Maria were our favorite bartender during our stay in Cabo San Lucas. They made the best drinks especially mojitos. The hotel is a small chic boutique with a lot of characteristics. Their two bedroom two bath unit is big enough for a family or two couples to share...very spacious and full size refrigerator in it. When we left to stay one week at our resort for our honeymoon, we actually missed the staff and the Bahia Hotel. We returned for one more night before returning back home to Washington. This time, it was filled with college students there for Spring Break. We observed how they interacted with the college students and was impressed. They let them have a lot fun but also not let them get too out of hand to keep them safe. Not to mention, patience with them. If you want peace and quiet, avoid staying there during Spring Break time. There are two types of rooms you can book; the classic or the deluxe rooms. We recommend the deluxe rooms if you prefer modern decor. Our experience there was a memorable one. In one week, we gotten to know the staff there and made new friends there. We look forward to coming back next year for our anniversary to see them all again.

Thank you for your review. We love to be a part of such a special occassion and are excited to see you every year on your anniversary. We allways say that personalized service is at the root of the guest expereience here at the Bahia and this review back up that statement. We love getting to know our guests and see them return every year to see old friends.
I appreciate your comments about the spring breakers as we try and be flexible to a certain point but want to make sure they respect the property and the other guests.
Thank you again for sharing such a memorable event with us and congragulations.

Staff is rude, hotel was overpriced for service. Rooms were not cleaned, overall hotel was old and not kept up well. Food was overpriced and not worth it for such bad quality. Filed a complaint on the staff during my visit for unacceptable behavior and felt threatened for the remainder of my stay. Would not recommend this hotel for my worst enemy.
