“Most amazing tour in 12 years of vacationing in Cabo!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014 via mobile

After vacationing for 12 years in Cabo and now living here, a friend suggested that I take a whale watching tour with cabo expeditions. It was beyond words!!! We went out with Jose! He should have the nickname "the whale whisperer!" He was fabulous! Searched until he found whales and allowed us to have a "whale experience" that I will never forget. On our trip he brought a helper/guide named Oscar. He was filled with an abundance of information and do nice. The 2 of them were. By the way, they were extremely cautious, loving, and caring towards the ocean and the big beauties! Thank you Jose!!! You are the man. BTW...trip was so good that I just went again last week!!! Love it!!!

Hello Robin,

It was a pleasure to have you on our Zodiac Whale Watching Adventure. We're happy that after 12 years of vacationing in Los Cabos, you finally got to go on one of the most sought-after tours in Cabo. And you went with one of the most sought-after whale watching captains to boot!

As a matter of fact, our guests call Jose the "whale whisperer," which is an apt nickname for him. It seems that no matter what, he always manages to find the whales... even if that means going far and out on the Pacific Ocean or on the Sea of Cortez.

We hope that you'll come visit us again next year. It won't be a long trip for you now that you live here!

Best regards,
Oscar Ortiz

“Temo / Hector were great whale watching guides”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014

We booked this through our cruise ship in March of 2013. Sorry for the delay of the review, but we just found the paper.

We were on the 15 passenger Zodiac. They took us out past lovers' beach and lands end to see the sea birds and seals. After a short trip out to the whale watching area, it wasn't long before we came upon a young humpback whale that put on a great show for about 45 minutes; Slapping and breaching continuously. On the way back we saw other whales just swimming along and several pods of dolphins. It was fun skirting the beach and seeing the human wildlife from a different perspective.

This was a highlight of our trip! I would definitely book with them again.

Late or not, your feedback is valuable to us because it lets us know if we are doing things right or if there are any areas that we need to work on. We appreciate that you took the time to write a review.

We usually tell guests to keep our minds open to what mother nature will give us today. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to find the whales; on other occasions they are already waiting for us in the whale observation area. And it looks like you got the mother lode on your whale watching tour---a humpback whale putting on a great show for 45 minutes plus several pods of dolphins on the way back!

It would be our pleasure to show you other facets of this region on your next visit.

“Great Whale Watching Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2014

Used Cabo Expeditions for a whale watch experience last week of Feb 2014. We booked on the small boat (15 people) ($70.00) that goes very fast. We were lucky enough to get Captain Jose.in our 10:30AM tour out of the 5 available boats. After a trip around lovers beach and the arch we headed out and started seeing whales right away, but in a distance. The boat captain's radio each other when whales are spotted in other areas and we raced to the spots. We continued to see distant whales and the tour was coming to an end. As all the other boats headed back to the Marina Captain Jose hung back and headed out a little further. Then it happened. A pod of three, 1 baby and two adults put on a spell binding show for us. The baby was playing on the surface flapping his tail while going in a circle while the adults where jumping, spouting, and staying close by. We could see the whales under the water and when they jumped we could actually see the barnacles on their tails.

Perseverance is often rewarded, and what a reward it was! A mother and calf plus an escort putting on a great show by rolling, blowing and breaching---that's quite an experience.

Jose is known for his ability to spot whales and read their behavior, which he gained from over 15 years of captaining and guiding whale watching tours. He is the most senior guide at Cabo Expeditions and is one of the most experienced whale watching captains in Cabo San Lucas.

The teamwork at Cabo Expeditions is one of the reasons why we enjoy what we do. On our Zodiac Whale Watching Adventures everyone works hand-in-hand. Our captains are in constant communication with one another and they radio to each other when they spot whales in other areas. They also ensure that all of our guests get a good view of the whale action, so they always make room for all of our boats in the whale observation area. After all, that's what we are here for---to provide you with an unforgettable experience and, at the same time, make you feel like you are one step closer to nature.

Thank you for choosing Cabo Expeditions!

“great guides for whale watching”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

We have gone out three different years to see the whales with Cabo Expeditions, each time with excellent results. The first year we happened on to a mother whale teaching its thousand pound baby how to breach, among other things. The mother breached at least 8 times while we watched. The baby, practicing, breached at least 20 times - and counting! He obviously loved it. We finally had to leave them with the baby still breaching to get back to port. This year we saw many, many spectacular breaches by several whales. Our guides, in both years, seemed to be the ones who found the good whales to watch. The other boat tours followed us. The guides seem to be special, maybe very experienced or well trained. Our consistently outstanding experiences with Expeditions moved me to write this very strong recommendation.

Thank you so much for your very strong recommendation. We are touched---because you took the time to write a review, and also because your comments validate our unwavering efforts to consistently give an excellent experience to our guests.

Throughout the years that we have been in operation, we have seen spectacular shows from the whales, and have had amazing encounters with them. We have also experienced days when the whales were a little harder to find, or occasions when they preferred to just relax in the water. Regardless, we learn something new about the whales everyday, and we apply those learnings on our whale watching tour.

We are proud to say that our guides do know how and where to find the whales. That comes from knowledge acquired over the years and experience gained from over 15 years of being in the whale watching business.

Cheers to another wonderful whale watching season in Los Cabos!

“Great time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2014

We did 2 trips with them, a kayak adventure and parasailing. Both times we had very friendly staff who went out of their way to be helpful, courteous, and seemed genuinely having fun.

A special thank you/Kudo's to our guide/captain Natanael and Regulo who were with us for Parasailing. If you haven't gone parasailing, you must try it. It was very safe, and the experience is like flying - quiet, calm, you don't go in the water (land and take off from the boat), and the most disappointing thing was it had to end! After our parasailing adventure, we were headed back to the marina when the Captain spotted whales breaching - we turned around and headed for the area and spent around 10-15 minutes maybe 50 yards from a pair of whales who breached about a dozen times! They didn't have to do this - we (and they) were excited to see something like this up close. They were respectful of the distance and turned off the motor (despite other boats that didn't). It was the highlight of our trip!!! Our other experience on the snorkel trip was wonderful as well.

Thank you for your very nice comments. It was a pleasure showing you the beauty of this region from the air, as well as from the surface and below. You chose a good combination of tours!

Some guests feel an initial trepidation when they do the parasailing tour. It quickly disappears once they are airborne and they see how safe it actually is. And you are in good hands with Nata and Regulo---not only do they ensure your safety on the tour, but they also know how to show you a great time.

Seeing whales could be an added bonus when you do the parasailing tour during whale watching season. We're so glad that you were able to spot them and spend some time with them just before your tour ended.

Our captains, guides and staff always try to go out of their way to give you a wonderful experience. We feel proud and honored when we read reviews such as yours because we know that we have exceeded your expectations.

Please join us again on your next visit!
