“Stay at Cabo La Estancia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2012

Myself and two other families stayed at Cabo La Estencia in the Pent House Villa for week. What a beautiful place and view. Amazing never experienced anything close to that in our lives. Beautiful Beach, many water activities, beautful pools and amazing spa. Just a quick taxi ride to town or shopping. We used the taxi service many times and never had to wait and always felt safe and the taxi drivers so friendly and love to share information about the area. La Estencia were profesional and so very helpful to us. We always felt very, very safe and never worried about anything. The staff is so helpful and pleasant at all times.

Before we planned the trip we worked with G. Giovanni Giammaco from Naional Realty Group. As we had never done this type of a trip I had many, many questions. Mr. Giammao was so helpul in finding us the best villa at the best price. Everything was very smooth. Up to the day of the trip I still had questions and he was there to assure me and get the information I needed quickly.

Thank you for a trip of a life time. We will be back to Cabo and will stay again at the La Estencia next time we may not need the pent house (1806) but know I can count on a great vila and a wonderful time.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view it is amazing and so worth the extra fee if there is one.

We picked this hotel because we were traveling as a large family, with several members who needed apartment-style suites. Villa La Estancia was great in that regard: rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a full kitchen, laundry closet and even a third bathroom in the living room in case someone was visiting or sleeping on the sofa bed. Another good thing was that there was an all-inclusive plan available, so in my case (I have 3 teenagers) they could go out and eat and drink all they wanted with zero effort on my part, while my sister who has infants could make her own baby food in the comfort of her kitchen. Bathroom amenities were by L'Occitane so I was happy. Staff was nice, and the concierge helped us out a lot when organizing a tour for 18 people. A couple of downers: my father and his wife had problems with their air conditioning that never managed to get resolved... and also, we could never make it into the sushi bar or the Italian restaurant because our group was considered too large even when trying to make reservations a couple of days ahead.

Room Tip: I loved being on the first floor, so we could go in from the pool through the glass doors in a minut...

My new wife and I booked our honeymoon at Villa La Estancia for 11 nights on Expedia for around $220/night for a 1 bedroom villa (1500sqft), which we were told was an extremely cheap price for this resort. No surprise, we were stuck in the least desirable room, ground floor, behind the lobby. After asking the staff to be moved several times, they told us that there were no available rooms because of the G20 Summit, and the fact that 90% of the rooms are owned by individuals and not the resort. After a little more complaining (by my wife), they moved us to the 4th floor with an awesome view and threw in a 3 day all inclusive peace offering. They were very professional, and treated us with respect. The all inclusive package offered all you can eat and drink privileges for all 9 restaurants, all of them are top notch. We were dining on filet mignon and drinking their best wines. Needless to say they made up for sticking us in a crappy room for a few days. The resort is top of the line in every department and we will not even consider going elsewhere next time we book a Cabo trip.

Room Tip: Look on expedia, vrbo, or craigslist, as most of the rooms are owned by individuals and not the reso...

This was honestly the best vacation I had ever been on, the villa was so nice. The showers and bathroom area were stunning and I felt like I was in a spa in there. Also it's very close to the beach, so all I had to do is go down the elevator and I was pretty much in the beach, the pool had a swim up bar and I could spend all day there. Defenitly stay here if you're in cabo. You wont regret it! :)

We stayed here for 4 nights this June. I would highly recommend staying in the 1 bedroom Villa...it comes with a huge kitchen, living room area, large balcony and 2 bathrooms. It's location is perfect for talking walks along the beach (with stops at the Office or Mango Deck) to the Marina or taking a quick cab ($7). This was our first time in Cabo so I was unsure if it would be better to stay in town but I think Medano Beach/VLE offers the perfect combination...it's easy to get there (we went in to town all 3 days we were there) and the hotel is just far enough away to be super relaxing/peaceful. It has a beautiful pool area with 3 jacuzzi's that face the ocean/El Arco. Would def stay here again if/when we return to Cabo.

Room Tip: We stayed in 3606 and loved it. The higher up and closer to the ocean you are the better! Def upgrad...

My husband and I stayed at La Estancia in Nuevo Vallarta and decided to book our stay in Cabo based on our very positive experience with their sister property. The Cabo property is older, apparently has about 90% ownership and the rooms are not as nice / modern / comfortable as they were in Nuevo Vallarta.

The location is far enough from town to be quiet yet on the main beach with easy access to everything. The pools are really nice, the service at the pool and beach side is quick and polite. There are a lot of vendors walking the beach but are respectful and not overly assertive. There are also lots of opportunities for water taxis and other fun beach activities (i.e. jet ski rentals, parasailing, etc.) located on the beach just to the north side of the hotel.

There is an clean internet cafe / arcade located across the parking lot from the main entrance to the hotel. The on site restaurants although good are overpriced. I would recommend the small cafe located in the retail shops again located across from the hotel entrance. You can get scrambled egg whites with fruit for a few dollars as opposed to $14. Smoothies and fresh juices, fruit salads and a super yummy homemade guacamole for $6 to take pool side! Attached to the cafe is a small market that sells quite a bit of everything (i.e. alcohol, bottled water, chips, cereal, magazines, nick nacks, etc.) all at very reasonable prices as well. The pool staff at the hotel couldn't care a less if you bring your own goodies as opposed to buying from the restaurants / bar because their are so many owners of the villas at the property.

There are newer nicer places to stay in Cabo (there is even a new sister property to Estancia right next door). Overall, I give Estancia Cabo 4 stars due to its location, nice clean beach, nice pools and good pool / beach staff.

Room Tip: Originally we were assigned room 2205. This room is at lobby level, has no ocean view and has inter...

So I would like to start by saying this place was perfect across the board. Our check in was great we got in at 3pm. Jimmy checked us in and we booked with a debit card, last year we were at Casa Dorada and we booked with a debit card and we left a $300 USD deposit as expected, well this time Jimmy said he didn't want to put a hold on the card because last time with another guest it charged the card $500. So he didn't require us to even leave a deposit, with a 4-5 star resort this is unheard of. I was very pleased and this is only my first 20 minutes at the resort.
Our room. Jimmy walked us over to our room and we were surprised we were on the first floor closest to the lobby(garden view). My wife and myself were initially upset because there was no ocean view. Jimmy showed us our room and said if another room was available he would put us in it.
So we head to the pool: excellent, not too busy and great view of Lands End from pool. The beach was great further away from Mango Deck, Office, and the Sand Bar**. But we knew that when we booked. This is our 4th trip to Cabo and we have always been right there by the bars. This is our third trip with kids and this location was perfect. Quiet at night and very laid back during the day. The grounds are very well kept and I believe we stayed at the best of the three resorts(Villa la Estancia, villa palmar, and villa del arco).
We stayed for a week and after our second day we ended up loving our room. First floor means you can walk right off your terrace, which are huge, right into the garden our kids loved it and for that reason we did too. Jimmy did find us another room but we declined.
We chose to do the Meal plan/ all-inclusive. Great for us. Now we could have saved a lot of $$ by going to Walmart, a $ 7 cab ride and stocked up and prepared our own meals. We chose not to and were very pleased. So you get and armband and you have access to all three resorts' restaurants now this is where Villa la Estancia was not the greatest but I ate well and my wife nor my kids had a complaint. The staff here is excellent the wait staff gets you what ever is on the menu food/drink as much and as often as you want. We ordered a lot of food and drinks they delivered them to our pool side tables or at the beach. The food was good but we ate at the Villa del Arco restaurants the second to last day and the food selection was better. We ate only once at La Casona the dinner restaurant at Villa la Estancia, it was excellent. I had the sea bass and salad. The creme brulee was delicious and coffee afterwards as anticipated was the best.
Now I have mention that the house keeping staff here is in my opinion the best I have ever had. I came back everyday from a 6-7 hour pool and beach day to a clean room, dishes that were washed and in the dish washer, my kids clothes that we're neatly folded and then on top of that we would go out to eat dinner and come back to the bed turned down and my kids bedding in the pull out was already made for them.
Like I said thos trip it was my wife 27, my two boys 9 and 6 and myself 33. We got the one bedroom suite 1400 sqft. So my wife and myself took the bedroom and the kids slept in the living room on the pull out. Huge room with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Two bathrooms both with showers and the huge jetted tube in our bedroom.
Oh yeah just some helpful advice since my wife and I do not like to use debit or credit cards at all because identity theft we chose to use prepaid debit cards. Now we found out that this resort doesn't allow any cash except for tips. We did not know this and had brought a lot$ $ and very little on our prepaid cards. Things worked pit fine but I didn't know that prior to getting there. Also there is a market that is with the resorts and it has just about everything you might need from viagra at the little pharmacy to liquor. You used about three times. This place also has a trolley to take u to the other sister resorts. One last thing they have an arcade, it has xbox, Ps3, and wii also pc's for use for games and email/facebook/myspace.
My family and myself love Cabo San Lucas and I am glad now that we have found a place to go to by ourselves or with the whole family and really enjoy ourselves.
