“Beautiful place!”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

We went there for our tenth anniversary vacation and were very happy with our room, the pools, the restaurants, and the staff. Everything was better than expected. We loved having a kitchen in our unit so we could have breakfast and lunch on the deck and snacks at night. The location on the beach was perfect as well- we walked into town via the beach several times and took in the beautiful views and people watching (plenty to see). I had a massage at the spa which was SO lovely and also had a back and neck massage out by the pool which was also great. All in all, it was a great vacation and we will definitely return. My only suggestion is to avoid the time share presentation from the sister hotels (Villa del Arco and Villa del Palmar) like the plague.

Room Tip: We had a "garden view" room, which was further back from the beach but we still could see...

We booked our trips months age through Expedia for travel June 30th-July 5th. Originally, we booked at Villa del Arco and upon arrival, were informed that we needed to speak to management. I immediately became upset because I thought that there was a problem with our reservations (as in, they didn't exist!). We were escorted to a table in the far corner where one of the resort's managers came and sat down with us and began to explain that there was a computer glitch that had occurred and that the resort was overbooked. After I began to get more upset, he did his best to calm me down and explain that we would actually be at the next resort, Villa La Estancia, and that this was, indeed, an upgrade to what we had originally booked. When he said the word "upgrade," I calmed down!

He next proceeded to walk us over and introduce us to the concierge, who explained how the all-inclusive feature would work, what restaurants we would have access to, and who showed us to our room, 3203B. All of what I had been upset about disappeared when I saw the room and the facilities. It was absolutely GORGEOUS!! The grounds are manicured and the room was immaculate. We probably could have eaten off the floor, if we were in the habit of doing such. :)

All week long, we were treated like royalty. The entire staff is extremely friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. We tried every restaurant on the resort except the Mexican restaurant. Our favorite was the steakhouse. The steaks were right up there with Ruth's Chris and the wait staff was very accommodating. We also ate breakfast there every morning. Our favorite person that we met all week was our hostess at the restaurant named Jazmin. She closed every night, then was right back up there before 6:00 the next morning, always with a smile on her face!

I HIGHLY recommend this resort to anyone looking to travel to Cabo! This was our first time going to Cabo (we usually travel the Caribbean), and while we were there we were already making plans to return!

My husband and I stayed here and never wanted to come home!

We enjoyed the hotel and surrounding properties. The room was fantastic, full kitchen, laundry and balcony area were most enjoyable. We came on the 4 of July not to busy, the weekend we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The pool was clean and the food was great. The fruit plate and shrimp tacos were delicious. We went to Walmart for our groceries, a five minute taxi, and cooked most meals in our room.

A couple of things worth mentioning, the jacuzzi sticks out when you enter the bathroom, I broke my toe! Still hurting a week later. The balcony situation is strange, you share it with the guests next door, a little security issue if you don't lock your door. Wifi at pool okay, in room a problem.

We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Room 3206a nice

We stayed in 1604 (www.caboheaven.com) with our two kids, ages 5 & 2. Villa 1604 is a beautifully appointed 6th-floor condo with two separate king-size bedrooms, three pull-out sofas, 2.5 baths - and an absolutely gorgeous view of the Sea of Cortez and Land's End. The villa looks out onto the beautifully designed pool area, where we spent most of our time (very kid-friendly pools, including two wading areas). La Estancia is a well-maintained property with a variety of delicious restaurants on site, including an ice cream store and a little market for essential groceries and toiletries. It's also just a five minute drive from an excellent Wal-Mart, so we shopped there and ate in for about half of our meals, making great use of the fully equipped kitchen and grill in #1604. We ate all our meals outside on our private patio with its stunning view of the ocean. La Estancia is also just a 5 minute drive into town so we popped in occasionally for a delicious local meal. We rented a car for the week and La Estancia was great for this - free valet parking! (tho' we always tipped a bit ;^>).

The owner of the villa, Barry Wood, was a delight to work with. He and his wife spend several months each year in Cabo and have many great recommendations and travel tips, should you need them. I highly recommend La Estancia and #1604 in particular!

We chose Villa La Estancia again because of the great location and nice pool area. Management was much much better this time. I believe they have done some good training since our last visit. 3 bdrm villa was updated as indicated online. Loved having the market to stock the refrigerator. Our kids enjoyed the arcarde and ice cream shop. Lunch choices were very good by the pool. I would recommend Villa La Estancia.

A group of about 30 went down for a family vacation. We went through a condo rental site for our rooms. My immediate family had a two bedroom condo (One with 1 king bed and the other with 2 queens) with a living area in between. I also had chance to visit all of my family's rooms and everyone had a beautiful condo. Loved them. The entire property was immaculately maintained and the staff very friendly.

It's true the food and drink through the resort may be expensive but I think well priced to other resorts. And the food was good but not delicious. If you're a foodie you might find it a little boring. Would recommend a quick trip to Walmart to stock up.

This resort is a quick taxi into town or even walkable and we all enjoyed the flexibility of being able to eat and drink at the resort or head into the local hot spots for dinner and what not.

In Cabo I've stayed at Las Ventanas, the Westin (several times), Dreams, and La Estancia. For the money, La Estancia wins in my book. Las Ventanas is by the far the most luxurious and if I had the money and wanted a more romantic destination I'd go there but between the Westin, Dreams, and La Estancia, La Estancia is the clear choice.

Pros:
- Great for groups
- Close to town
- Beautiful resort with all the amenities
- Friendly and accommodating staff

Cons:
- Maybe expensive for singles or couples (take with a grain of salt after doing some research)
- Food is good and certainly edible but not yum-yum delicious

Stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was BEAUTIFUL. What a great place and a spectacular view. Beautiful beach and amazing pool and pool bar. Quick taxi ride to town where we walked the marine and ate at great seafood restaurants. Staff at the hotel was friendly and very helpful. Had a great trip. Thank you.
