“Best Cabo Vacation EVER!!”
Reviewed 27 February 2013

This was our fourth Villa Estancia stay and this year was the best ever... We have stayed at VLE in January, June and twice in February..

From check-in to check-out our needs were met. We stayed in 1605A this trip and were a little disappointed to learn that we did not have a grill on our terrace.. My husband does alot of grilling and we just assumed since the other 3 villas that we had stayed in had grills that this one would. I will ask specifically next time... Also this kitchen was not as stocked as other villas we have stayed in... The refrigerator made a horrible noise every time that it cycled on and off.. it sounded like a metal door being slammed... we learned after the first night what the noise was and that the remedy was to shut the bedroom door...

The workout facility is very up to date , clean and had friendly staff to greet me every morning.
TransPacifico Transportation was awesome... we were unsure about spending the money on a private SUV but it was well worth the $$$ and not having the hassle of the time share guys trying to get you to listen to their sales speech... we were greeted outside the airport taken to our vehicle by our driver and given a beer to enjoy for the 30 minute drive to VLE!

Our only disappointment was the day that we left when we both realized that we had not stayed long enough!! This was our first seven day stay as we have only stayed 5 days in the past... We are already looking into our 2014 visit.. and our fifth stay at VLE!! The only problem is do we go in January for our 35th anniversary or do we go in February which we have enjoyed 2 visits?

Why go to any other vacation destination when you can go to VLE and be treated like royalty?

Room Tip: The reason why I rated the room as average was because of the refrigerator noise.. even with the TV...

This was our fifth trip to Cabo but our first stay at Villa La Estancia. Villa La Estancia is amazing - the villas are spectacular, the grounds impeccable, the staff are friendly and helpful, the location is great and the views are breathtaking. We already had accommodations for a week at another location and decided to stay ten days, thinking closer to downtown would be a nice change for a few days. Vicki & Malcolm at La Estancia Vacations helped us plan every memorable detail from location of villa to shuttle service from the airport - all exceeded our expectations! Our only complaint would be that we didn’t stay long enough. We are already working to secure our 2014 dates as Villa La Estancia and will be staying for a week! We can’t wait to return and highly recommend Villa La Estancia and La Estancia Vacations to anyone looking for that perfect getaway.

My husband and I stayed at Villa La Estancia in October 2012 with another couple. We rented Villa 3201 with the panoramic ocean front views. The views were gorgeous, the terrace was perfection! We booked with Malcolm and Vickie at La Estancia Vacations and they were great, from quick responses to providing great information, we had no complaints about our encounters with them.
The villa is all the way on the left side facing the ocean if you are standing on the beach looking toward the resort. La Estancia is the middle of the trio of hotels that are part of this resort. La Estancia is the top resort and you have the ability to eat at any of the restaurants at any of the 3 resorts if you purchase the all inclusive plan, which we did and found to be very convenient. Despite having our own full kitchen, we still enjoyed the convenience of the AI plan.

We purchased groceries from Walmart, which as everyone says is about a 5 minute cab ride. Very convenient and easy. There is an onsite grocery store with all the essentials. Prices are a bit higher but you can find wine reasonable there and if you forgot anything (medical, snack, drink, you can find it there).

The Villa was very clean and looked exactly as the pictures showed. No surprises. There were only two couples so the third bedroom went unused but it would be more than plenty of space for 3 couples or a family to stay in this villa. They cleaned the villa more than they said they would, i believe they are scheduled to come a few times a week but they seemed to come almost every day and at least every other day. Might have been that the resort was not at capacity when we were there.

There was no need to save seats at the pool, there were plenty this time of year. They have chair side service for eating and drinking, it is a bit slower pace but you are on vacation and should not be in a big hurry anyway.

The beach is not user friendly. Though it is said to be a swimable beach, that is a relative term. We did arrive a day after a hurricane went over the baja, so I know that played into it, we were smacked around and beaten up by waves upon arrival. However a week later when the hurricane's impact was long gone, we still got tossed around quite a bit in the ocean. The sand is VERY hard, little granular pebbles, so not a good walking beach barefoot anyway. The hotel did a baby turtle release which was absolutely awesome. We got to hold the baby turtles and then release them into the sand and watch them head to the ocean and be swept up by the waves. That was a very cool experience.

The guys in our party wanted to do some fishing. We used Aby Charters and Captain Helio Garcia was very responsive and accomodating. They went out 3 times during our week visit and caught Dorado and Wahoo two of the three trips out. No sailfish but they had a great time! Aby Charters is really reasonable, dependable and friendly. No complaints there at all.

We also did some adventure things. We did a half day four wheeling with Baja Buggies. My husband and I don't enjoy being knocked around so that was not a fun experience for us, but the other couple loved it! Just know your limits and what you might enjoy. It is certainly NOT for someone with a bad back. They take you through the dry water beds and onto the beach by the ocean. Very pretty but extremely bumpy as it should be given it is Baja Buggies!

We also did the Sling Swing through Cabo San Lucas Tours. Unfortunately they booked us for the wrong day despite sending us a confirmation for the correct day. IN the end we went out another time and when we came home and complained since we had to re-arrange other things in our trip, they did a very fair make good and credited us the entire cost. It was a disappointment and aggravation on vacation to deal with but they made it right in the end and we were able to still do the sling swing, which by the way, was AWESOME! A huge adrenalin rush!!! Highly recommend this. I would NEVER do it again, but it was an awesome experience and I am so glad I did it!

We also did SNUBA for the first time ever. We did this through Cabo San Lucas Tours too and that went great. Snuba is very cool. You are underwater on Jetson like scooters and they get fish inches from your face as you feed them crackers. That was awesome. A word of caution here though, don't jump into the water from the boat before the SNUBA if you have any ear clogging issues. My husband jumped in and his ears filled up and he ended up not being able to clear them and the pressure in the SNUBA was too much for him, he had to bail. So he missed out. You are only 15 feet under water and teethered to a bouy so you aren't far down and can bail at any time.

We also had a private chef come in one night. We used Chefincabo.com. Chef Jorge was our Chef and they did a very nice job, on time, clean, top notch.

All in all this was a fabulous trip and we truly loved it. In our opinion worth the extra money to have the panoramic views. The penthouse would have been awesome BUT there is no coverage from the hot sun, where as Villa 3201 has the awesome views and ceiling fans on the terrace to make for a more enjoyable time on the terrace. The hot tub on the terrace is also awesome and we used it several times.

We like to try new places but everyone said they would love to return to Cabo again and we would absolutely stay at Villa La Estancia again and book through La Estancia Vacations!

Room Tip: If considering Penthouse or Panoramic rooms, think about the exposure to the sun. Penthouses don'...

We had a very short trip but a fantastic time at this hotel. Wonderful, friendly service, great food, private beach area and super close to town. 15 minutes walking or a $5 cab. It has beautiful views and is spread out enought to where it is quiet and feels secluded yet you are in hte middle of it all.

This was our second time staying at Villa La Estancia and it was wonderful. Even better this time because we were there in late January, versus the week
Between Christmas and New Year's as we were the first time, so it was not crowded at all. The beach is beautiful, the location is excellent - about 15 minutes to Cabo if you walk along the beach, or an $8 cab ride - and the service is impeccable. All of the staff there go out of their way to be accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, with a full kitchen in the one and two-bedroom suites. There is a market on site where you can buy groceries and liquor which is very convenient. We will definitely be back!

This was our third stay at Villa La Estancia. It was another excellent stay. We had great experiences with the bell hops, front desk, concierge, towel person and wait staff at the pool/beach. First impression…lasting impression sets the tone of any vacation. Ernesto and Oscar continue to make us feel so welcome upon our arrival. They were there for absolutely any of our needs. Check in was easy and quick. Ernesto took our bags and groceries to our villa, put the cold groceries in the refrigerator and the frozen items in the freezer. Ernesto and Oscar were genuine in the attention they paid to our needs. The grounds were maintained beautifully and the scrubs/bushes were neatly trimmed. After our first stay I commented the front desk staff could be friendlier. The service provided by the front desk has been much better the last two trips. Our return trip to the airport was scheduled for 4:00 am. When I went in to the front desk to check out Moises had just printed my final statement without my asking. Talk about anticipating our needs!!! Thank you Moises. We celebrated Valentine’s Day at the Desert Spa. It was a very nice evening. Blanca told us about it on the beach and we are so glad she did. Blaca was so friendly and used low pressure in telling us about the spa specials. We booked the villa via VRBO. We have had great luck in using this website to book great villas at Villa La Estancia.

Stayed at VLE Feb 2013 for 9 nights. Villa La Estancia is by far the nicest of the three properties that are all connected.

Purchased the all inclusive plan and it worked out very well - would highly recommend it.

Enjoyed numeros great dinners at La Casona. This food at this restaurant is in the same class as Mastero's or Trulucks and the service is better. Chef Ricardo was welcoming, friendly and (rightfully) proud of this food. Gustavo and Ronaldo delivered a fine, yet related 5 star experience every time.

All the staff at VLE were fantastic but Gustavo and Ronaldo at La Casona and Juan Carlos at the pirate ship were a cut above.

Also had numerous massages at the Desert Spa at the ajoining Arcos resort which were fantastic. The facility is beautiful and comperable to an ultra high end US spa and the massage therapists (Juana and Jasmine) were the best we've ever had.

The only room for improvement was; VLE itself lacks a watersport sign out desk so you must go to Palmar or Arco's to sign our equipment. Also, the activity staff at Arco's lacked the friendly helpfulness that was incrediabily consistent throughout the rest of the staff.

Tips: - Get the all inclusive plan
- Avoid a ground level room
- Visit the spa
- The service is so good add extra tips when using the all inclusive plan
