My family of 6(4 kids-14,14,10 & 8) just got back from our first trip to Cabo and we stayed at Villa La Estancia. We have booked our previous vacations through one of the larger online travel companies until this trip. We were referred to La Estancia Vacations out of West Palm Beach, FL by a good friend and not only did I get great value by booking through them, but actual service by the owners who go to Cabo and stay at the resort on a routine basis. It's just nice to speak with someone that can give you a subjective perspective on where your going versus an online customer service rep. Everything told to us regarding our Villa and resort at La Estancia was spot on. Our villa was 2,200 sq/ft with 2 bdrms / 3 full baths /full kitchen and a huge balcony. La Estancia has great location on Medano Beach which is close to town and the marina. The property is immaculate and the cleanest resort we have been to. The service here is excellent. The pool and beach were awesome per my kids. You have access to the 2 sister resorts (Villa Del Palmar and Villa Del Arco) which are on each side of La Estancia. The restaurants are very good as well. This is definitely a top tier resort that is ideal for families.

After my second experience I just wanted people to know how enjoyable of an experience I had at Villa de la Estancia. I worked out every morning on my trip and Lorena and Reyna worked at the front desk and were so welcoming. They always had a smile on their faces and were very sweet. They always genuinely wanted to know how my family and I were doing. They are a wonderful addition to the Desert Spa excellent experience. Overall La Estancia was a family friendly, relaxing, and beautiful resort.

Room Tip: Any room is great but ask for a room with a view of the water. The rooms on the first floor lead out...

My wife and I spent a week at Villa La Estancia in Feb 2014. This was our first trip to Mexico that was not part of a cruise. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the condo. First, I had read a lot of reviews before booking here and I am not sure why there were others having issues with any of the resorts staff. We encountered nothing but friendly, helpful service the entire time we were there. The grounds at Estancia are immaculate and not a day went by that I did not see some type of activity on keeping them that way. We booked the all-inclusive deal - if you plan on eating out or drinking much then this is the way to go! The room was great! Very nice size with separate dining and living areas. Full kitchen stocked with most everything you would need (did not use this much with the all inclusive plan). The bedroom was very nice, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was expansive with his/hers sinks, a jetted tub, a walk in shower and a large closet. The pool was very nice. If you want a good spot you have to get up early! However, if you get to the pool and cannot find a spot talk to the staff working there and they will help find one that has been sitting too long with no one there. The food was excellent and, with the all-inclusive, we were able to eat at any of the three resorts restaurants (Estancia is in the middle). Cab ride to town was $8 and we actually walked back twice. If you choose to do any of the beach activities be sure to haggle with the guys on the beach. You can get a cheaper price if you try. We also went to the Desert Spa. It was very nice as well albeit a bit pricey. You can get a massage on the beach for much less.

All in all this was an excellent place to stay and I would highly recommend it. We will return.

Room Tip: Buildings 1 and 3 seem to have the best ocean views. We were in building three and loved it.

Estancia was in a great location, close enough to town to walk there or take a short cab ride. You walk right out onto Medano beach. The pool was warm and very nice...they have a sign that says you can only save chairs for an hour but that doesn't seem to be enforced so you just have to get up early to get a spot. The hotel has chairs on the beach too. Our room was nice, we had housekeeping service every other day. Concierge was helpful in making us reservations and setting up tours. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here during my honeymoon in January. It's got a great location but its way too victorian for my taste. The rooms were nicely sized but there is a hallway separating the 2nd bedroom from the living room which makes it strange if you have kids. The pool was ok, but drinks are ridiculously expensive. The food is also very expensive. $20 for a burger and fries after taxes.

Everything also shut down pretty early. So if you want to get a drink after 10pm you don't have any options. Its a really boring place to stay. Service in the restaurant by the pool was pretty bad considering we were the only table, and 2 waiters. But the waiters enjoyed talking to each other more than waiting on the table. It took them more than 10 minutes to get our bill, twice.

I wouldn't stay here again. There are much better options in Cabo for the money. My wife and I are late 20's and early 30's.

We recently spent 4 nights in Villa 2405 (booked with owner via VRBO) at this wonderful resort and could not fault it. As this short break came at the close of a month long family ski holiday, we decided on the meal plan and were so happy with the inclusions. Every meal, all drinks, every restaurant at Estancia and its neighbours were in the plan and it was great! We found service at Estancia to be excellent, particularly in La Casona and on the beach...boy that lady really works hard! Estancia is an easy walk away from Cabo and the marina but far enough away from the spring break madness to be super relaxing.

Room Tip: We stayed in Villa 2405 which was away from the sea but which still had excellent views of the garde...

We just came back from an outstanding week at Villa La Estancia - we booked the All-Inclusive package through Sunwing Vacations. Although we have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and Mexico, it was our first visit to Los Cabos - a truly beautiful vacation destination.

We stayed in a 1-bedroom ocean-view Suite that was unbelievably large, clean and well-appointed. The master bedroom and ensuite (including his and her sinks) had to be close to 1000 sq. feet. The rest of the suite (probably another 1000 sq ft) was made up of a very comfortable living room (with a queen-sized pull-out), a dining table for 6, a 2nd complete bathroom and a kitchen equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher and a full set of dishes, glassware and cutlery. On top of all that, there was a very spacious patio that featured two luxurious padded recliners, 4 sitting chairs and a table. Our 1-bedroom suite would have very comfortably accommodated 4 people. Coming home was a definite downsize!

All of the units on the property appear to be timeshare units but there was absolutely NO pressure to sit through sales pitches etc.

The all-inclusive package allows you to eat at both restaurants on La Estancia as well as the restaurants at the neighbouring Arco and Parmar (La Estancia is in the middle of the 3 Villa properties). The AI package also includes room service (but with a $2 charge for each time an order is placed). It also includes house wines (3 whites and 3 reds - all of which were of very good quality) and almost all other booze selections.

The all-inclusive package does not fully cover a couple of menu items at each restaurant (involving lobster and/or Kobe beef) and some very high end liquor (although it does provide a 40% discount on those items). The only other hassle about the AI package is that you have to sign for everything - at the end of each meal, everytime you order a drink etc.

Overall, the food was fantastic at all restaurants. Our favourite restaurants were La Casona (breakfast and then steak house at night) and La Parilla (lunch grill), both on La Estancia and Le Patron (Mexican - on del Arco). Service at the Italian restaurant on Parmar was a bit slow but besides that one night, the service was truly first-rate.

My only criticism of the La Estancia property is that there is not a bar "on site". You can get ample drinks at both of the restaurants or the swim-up bar but if you just want to grab a pre- or post-dinner drink, you have to head over to either of the neighbouring properties. It's almost as if they want you to go off-site to pick up some beer and wine to put in your fridge (which is what we did!).

The pool is not huge but very clean and has the requisite 2-sided swim up bar. The beach is pristine but it's a fairly steep incline down to the water. I swam every day but there is a strong undertow that you have to be careful with.

The concierge staff in the Main Lobby, particularly Diane, were exceptionally professional and helpful.

The massage I had at the Desert Spa was the best I've ever had!

Overall, it was an outstanding week and we fully intend to return sometime soon!
