I'll start with what we liked. We were originally booked at the Villa Del Arco and they upgraded us to the Villa Le Estancia. The hotel is very nice, grounds were great. The room was nice, spacious, with a great view of the beach. Although the porch we had was shared with another unit, we never saw them so it was nice to sit on the balcony. The resort was laid back and relaxing. It wasn't too "spring break-ish" for us, but it was still fun. It wasn't super crowded. The pool and swim-up bar was cool. It was great having the beach right there although it was too rough to swim in.

Now, for what we disliked. When we checked in, we were given a map of the three hotels that were tied together and the restaurants, but it didn't tell you any information about the restaurants, what their hours were, etc. We tried going to a couple places that sounded good only to find out they were closed or not open yet. There weren't any places open later at night either. Service at every place we went to was very slow. We would wait forever for a water, coffee or a drink.
All inclusive did not mean "all-inclusive". There were a lot of things that were not included such as coffee with alcohol as an after dinner drink or room service after 10:30 or decent alcohol. We weren't asking for top shelf, but we wanted a little above the well. They had a list of mixed drinks at the swim-up bar, but they had a small dot by the ones that were not included. The drinks we did have were very watered down. I heard more times than I cared for that "that is not included in your package". They should have a disclaimer before people purchase an all-inclusive package.

A couple things I will add is that we liked Josue at the main restaurant. We went there for breakfast every day. He was a great waiter and very friendly. Also, the chilaquiles for breakfast and the chicken tinga was really good. We also really liked the taco bar over at Villa Del Arco. The waiter was great. Right before our drink was empty, he was there offering us a new one. The tacos were really tasty. We especially liked the steak tacos and fish tacos. Overall our trip was relaxing, but they need to step up there game.

Just spent a wondeful week in Cabo. La Estancia is a great property, with very friendly staff and a location that is ideal. Close enough to walk (or a short cab ride) to town, but far enough away to be quiet when you want quiet.

Just returned from our stay at Villa La Estancia. My only complaint was finding out that we didn't have an all inclusive package when we arrived to the hotel. Villa La Estancia Beach is described as all-inclusive, however like many hotels you can get room only or for all-inclusive. I just re-looked through the hotel details, and other than the all-inclusive description above there is no note that what you're booking is room only. We purchased the all-inclusive package at the hotel. For the price, I wouldn't recommend it. Will not go back.
Otherwise, the hotel was good, clean, friendly service, quiet. very good for families with children 1-10 years old. Two rooms are connected through a balcony, so not much privacy.

This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the main town. The service is very good. The staff are very polite. There are three hotels in the complex owned by the same company. This one is the quietest. There is some room for improvement. For example, there are no beverage glasses in the room (not even plastic cups). I had to send a request to housekeeping to request this. For a 4 star hotel this should not be necessary. Overall, it is still an excellent hotel and I would stay here again.

We booked this stay through Costco, and we were thoroughly pleased. The room was spectacular with a huge ocean front balcony. Very clean with a nice upscale feel comparable to the large resorts in Hawaii. Do note this property is not on a swimmable beach, but there is a swimmable area just a 5-10 minute walk on the beach. We were able to walk to town, but the heat usually led us to take a taxi. The pool at the property is lovely with a nice swim up bar. There is a roped off area on the beach intended to ward off vendors on the beach, and this does help a bit.

We just got back from a nice family vacation to Cabo San Lucas. We spent 4 nights staying at the Villa La Estancia. This was our first time at this property as the place we usually stay is not for kids. I booked a Ocean View Villa which was upgraded to a two bedroom villa when we arrived. The resort is beautiful, the grounds are well maintained and the pool is very nice. The beach is also very nice but with a young child we did not spend much time there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially when I called the concierge to help find our babies brand of formula because we were running low. He made several calls and found it for us.

The Upside:

The room was great, having a washer and dryer was very helpful with a child and being able to store and prepare food was quite helpful. The bed was nice, if a bit soft for my taste. We got a crib for our son and it was a very small crib and a bit cramped for him. I wish they had bigger ones. Bathrooms were good and there was good water pressure which has been a problem at other resorts (we were on the 2nd floor). The balcony was huge and overlooked the pool with a nice view of the ocean.

The downside:

There were a few areas that lets something to be desired. The day we arrived we ordered room service. The food arrived quickly but was not very good. My wife and I got Beef quesadillas and Beef Nachos. In both the beef they used was very tough and full of fat and grlstle. Neither of us could finish it. They also forgot the hot sauce they said they would bring. We ordered different food a few nights later and it was about the same quality. Eating in the restaurant was different, the food was better. I would stay away from Room service until they get that fixed.

There was construction going on while we were there. I know this comes with the territory and it was just our luck they were working on a unit a couple floors above ours. They would start at 9 and were hammering all day. Not a big deal for my wife and I but an annoyance and it made it hard to get the baby to nap.

Finally a small pet peeve. We had a resort credit from when we booked our trip. When we arrived we were told that we could dine in any of the restaurants that were part of our resort or the two sister resorts on either side of our, but our credit would only apply if we ate at La Estancia. Now why can we sign any meal to our rooms from the resorts on either side but not use the credit we had? Seems like a way to make more money to me, but what ever.

The bottom line:

I would recommend this resort to friends. We will probably stay there on our next trip to Cabo san Lucas. It is convenient to get to town, the views are great, the room was very nice and the pool was good. It is not a party pool or party resort, so if that is your thing then this may not be your resort.
