“Sky pool waiter”
Reviewed 21 March 2014

We spent a week laying in the sun ,drinking amazing piña coladas, reading books at the Sky Pool and were taken outstanding care of by Alfredo. Always the most pleasant, friendly and sincere waiter. He always remembered everyday what we wanted to drink and when we wanted the amazing Nachos they serve. He made us feel like we were Queens. All of the Cart people, housekeeping, and waitstaff made our week spectacular. The rooms are beautiful, the scenery is breathtaking my second time here and we will be back.

Room Tip: We were on a Presidential 2 bedroom deluxe room on the top floor 19th level near the Sky Pool which...

As 4.5 stars was my family's review consensus.

Hotel is spectacular! Best rooms we've even been to. We walked in and said we want our retirement condo to be just like our hotel room. We were in building 10 and were able to hear the ocean surf at night when we left our window open. The scenery is stunning and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Note we were fortunately to be allowed to check in a little early.

I'd also give 5 stars for service. While there were perhaps a couple of indifferent employees by and large we were very impressed with the service quality. We liked seeing the same people working the poolsides and tried to seat ourselves in their areas each day. The activities coordinators were very friendly and enthusiastic. Our son enjoyed the volleyball, and I liked the card games. The restaurant wait staff gave enthusiastic recommendations and told us which dishes they suggested avoiding.

Why not a 5-star review?

One was that you had to work to get a pool chair. We hung out at the main pool where all the activities were. If we weren't down by 9:00 to 9:30 in the morning we weren't getting a chair. Vacation shouldn't be about that kind of pressure. Note that even though we went for spring break week the resort never felt crowded... except when trying to get pool chairs. Note also that the chairs are not in the best of shape and they collapsed on me a couple of times.

Second was the food was pretty expensive, and the quality (while by no means bad) was not commensurate for the price. That said we received 50% off on the all inclusive package for sitting through the timeshare presentation as well as a $250 food/spa credit. We were not planning on getting the all inclusive but decided to take the offer. If we had to pay full price for the all inclusive we would probably not do it, however. We didn't want to leave the resort so we're glad we did it!

I enjoyed the sushi restaurant (get the Salmon Trolling appetizer... the most delicious dish at the resort), the Italian buffet, the bistro, and La Frida. The seafood buffet was not very good.

One note on the timeshare presentation. My wife has been through many of these and it was not as high pressure as many others. It wasn't an unpleasant morning as we were very impressed with the rooms they showed us. The offer wasn't a bad value but we did not become members because we typically do not repeat vacation experiences. We did meet many people who have been coming to PB Sunset Beach for many years, and we can understand why.

Very enthusiastically recommended, you will enjoy your stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach!!

Two couples from mid Missouri believe this to be the most beautiful resort we have ever been too.
Flowers, trees, landscaping, exotic birds, koi, beautiful beach & blue ocean, multiple pools, a wide variety of food & beverages available at multiple locations on the resort. We saw whales, and a lot of them, everyday from our patio.

The staff was very polite and attentive to our needs. The rooms were made up everyday and we were greeted by new towel animals and fresh flowers each night.
A special thanks to Alma, Racial and Alonzo, three staff members that took VERY good care of us.

7 days of mid 80s and with all the above, we NEVER left the resort.
We did the all inclusive and tracked it by receipt very close. We came out way ahead of purchasing everything individually but I must admit the 4 of us do enjoy our food and beverages.

We will return !

For the past two years my mother and I have had the opportunity to attend the fitness classes offered at the gym. Both years we have been blessed with Alex as our trainer. He is able to fit the needs of both my mother, and I to ensure we both are pushing ourselves. He has always asked what we want to focus on, whether it be a bootcamp out on the deck, or a sweat session with the equipment. He has given us great advice for not only our workouts, but also places to see and activities to do while in Cabo San Lucas. He is truly a great asset to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, and we look forward to seeing him at the gym every year!

2nd time at PB Sunset. There were of 5 of us and we had booked 3 rooms. When we arrived they said they could put us in a 3 bedroom penthouse. Great room with a balcony on 2 sides, outdoor dining and hot tub. Also a better kitchen than the smaller units. The only downside was we were above Nao restaurant and there was some noise from there in the middle of the night - every night. Usually we would leave the balcony door open at night to be able to have fresh air and hear the ocean - but would end up closing it by morning due to noise. The Bistro is great. And I would recommend Frida's at least once during your stay. We did a drive to Todos Santos. Also snorkeled at Chilleno Beach (you can rent equip there). XLNT weather the whole time. Could see whales from the room almost constantly. Put a lot of miles on the blender! Great trip!

This resort has it all: beautiful views, gorgeous gardens and landscape, great restaurants and the accommodation is superb. I had stayed at the Pacifica before and Sunset Beach is next door. It didn't look like much from the road but that's because they saved all of the beauty for the suites each of which has gorgeous views of the ocean. I tried an all inclusive for the first time and was not disappointed. The restaurants have plenty of choices as well as the bars and all of the staff are unfailingly pleasant. I had a look at the gym (really well equipped) but didn't need to use it as long as I hiked up and down the hills to dinner, etc. because it is very hilly. Golf carts will get you where you want to go at any time. We did visit the sister hotel, Rose, for lunch, which was a nice experience and another plus for the all-inclusive, which entitles a guest to eat at Sunset Beach, Rose or Los Cabos. We could sit at the beach bar and watch the gray whales playing in the sea; it was lovely. The suites are magnificent. We had a two bedroom/2 bath with full kitchen and living room and a veranda that stretched the length of the villa. The only drawback for swimmers is that the water here is not safe for water sports. But if you go to the Rose or Los Cabos, beaches are there for you.
Really, I cannot wait to book another stay here next year.
