“Loved it”
Reviewed 10 February 2009

My husband and I just had a wonderful week at PBSB. After reading dozens and dozens of reviews, I was a bit nervous it wouldn't be fabulous, but we thoroughly enjoyed our trip! Even though the resort is massive, once you arrive it's not overwhelming like some of the photos may sugggest. We were in building 11 which was only one level above the beach. FYI, buildings 1-12 are closest to the beach and therefore our favorite buildings. We only used the golf carts twice, to check in and to check out. We walked everywhere for exercise and not to mention the breathtaking vistas...look for hidden steps that provide shortcuts! This time of year there is daily whale watching and we made "friends" with a curious sea lion that liked to follow us on our beach walks. We rented a car because we like total independence on trips...I highly recommend a road trip to Todos Santos. If you rent a car, also drive to the Sea of Cortez for swimming and snorkling. Please be warned that there are LONG lines to take the free hotel shuttle to town. The staff was completely friendly, absolutely no complaints there. PB Pacifica (next door) is fabulous and we will stay there if we return to Cabo. You must go there for a day at the pool followed by sunset in their superior hot tub. As far as the time share presentation goes, we simply could not pass on the $300 credit towards food and spa. It wasn't that bad and it included a tour of Monte Cristo (perk!). Our saleswoman fortunately was not rude when we politely & firmly said, "No thank you". I truly wish I could give PBSB an overall 5 stars, but considering how much we love to swim and snorkle in the ocean, I am giving it 4 stars. (I'm sure you know by now that you cannot swim at this resort) BUT there is a wonderful 2 mile stretch of private beach which is far better than the public and crowded beach in town. If you choose to go here, you will not be disappointed.

If you are looking for a special place to get married, consider Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. It was a wonderful experience working with the wedding coordinator, Laura, who was organized and great with follow-up. She allows the bride to be worry-free : ) The beach setting couldn't be more beautiful......and it is perfect for both small and large weddings. PB provides everything you need to plan a wedding; flowers, photographer, etc and we were 100% satisfied with everything. The wedding and stay at PB SB exceeded our expectations and we plan on returning next year!

PB Sunset Beach Resort is the MOST beautiful resort in ALL of CABO! That is why we selected this resort to have our wedding at. We had our wedding on the resort's private beach and the reception at the amazing Skypool overlooking to ocean and amazing sunset views. The resort itself is breath-taking, great service, amazing food, a luxurious spa, and fantastic swimming pools with services provided at each. If you are looking to have your wedding in Cabo, this place hands down is the best, plus the resort has an amazing wedding coordinator: Laura Ortiz.

Thw wife and I were there Jan.11th through Jan 18th, . the weather makes everything, and it was simply beautiful while we were there.

Transportation to and from the airport, we booked with "Transcabo", it cost 65.00 dollars for two, roundtrip. It worked well, would do it again.

Reading all the posts is a real head stratcher, we had a beautiful time, and i would go back in a heart beat. My wife requested a oceanview ( which all rooms are, lol) but hey we didn't know, and a balcony with a hot tub.( the room was breathtaking, huge rooms and hot tub) Check-in went really smooth, Blanca the gal that waited on us, very professional and sweet. Very good first impression. Next, they asked us about timeshare presentation, we said know, they gave us a few drink tickets and we were on our way.

We have been beaten up badly by Mayan time share people , in years past, but everyone we talked to at Sunset , said presentation were laid back.

We stayed in the 20 building, it was close to the sky pool, where we spent most of our time, simply beautiful. The maid we had was very helpful, sweet, the busy boys were always there when we needed them, and we never had to wait more than a mintue for a cart to pick us up. I never saw any of the cart drivers abusing the use of the vechilces, always acted in a professional manner.

I second the kudos on Ramon the waiter at the sky pool, very cordial, hard worker, only came around when we needed something. Mainly did lunches at pool, was good.

Speaking strictly of the resorts, we had the wood fired pizza at the Bistro one night, it was tasty, can't remember the name, but we did dinner one night at sister resort Blanco, was also good.

Overall can't say enough about how nicely we were treated!!!!!

Every room has a view of the ocean - bring binoculars and a good telephoto lens and enjoy watching the whales spout, the rays jump, and the Cabo fishing flotilla head out for the days catch. Great service by all. Food was ok. Rooms were spotless and the busboys driving the carts were great. Everyone spoke passable English and we tried our Spanish with all. Best surprises were the flaming presentation of Mexican Coffee at the La Nao and the wood fired pizzas. Fish sandwiches, quacamole with chips accompanied by either a Miami Vice or Dirty Monkey drinks were excellent at all pools. Getting to and from the airport was a no-hassle proposition. Pueblo Bonito had a shuttle bus driver waiting outside the terminal. The Pueblo Bonito properties provided transportation between the Sunset Beach, The Rose, and the Holistic Health Spa. We spent time at each and enjoyed all. If you wish to cook in your room, there is a COSTCO and SuperWalmart a short taxi ride away (not for us - but a good recommendation). If you brave the time share presentation, it does come with coupons and discounts that if you use them, can go a long way to making they stay quite affordable.

My husband and I went to PBSB with our parents. My parents went a week earlier and ended up buying a timeshare at the Montecristo Estates (located on the property) because they absolutely fell in love with it! When we arrived, we were so shocked at the beautiful views and the breathtaking scenery. Everywhere there are flowers, greenery and even wildlife (birds and swans!). The resort has amazing pools, great service and wonderful staff. I enjoyed dining in several of the restaurants as well. If you want to go into downtown Cabo, a shuttle goes back and forth daily to the Rose resort. You can easily walk around Cabo from there. I also liked going to the resort next door to the PBSB. It's a holistic place with a quiet zen-like feeling. You can swim there or lay on one of the huge beds right on the beach! I loved this place and plan on going back this July. I highly recommended this resort!!!!

My wife and I lucked out by picking this resort and yes there is no ocean swimming here but you can still do that at the sister resorts. We really enjoyed are stay here and we did the time share talk with Jerome who was very curtious and professional (unlike the folk out at the Grand Mayan Palace I might add.) The executive 3 yr old one bed room two bath units are very spacious and nicely decorated and give you a feeling of really being pampered. We had some slight issues with mildew smell and had new bedding put on our bed- I think our room sat empty for a while and I think that the mildew smell is actually in the duct work for the ac in he room so when you first start it up it takes a while for it to work its way out and then the air quality is much better. There is also at differant times at night sewer smell issues, which I might add, seem to happen all over Cabo (even in the middle of Wallmart Store) But all in all this place delights the senses with five pools and hundreds of staff , gas carts that pick you up and drop you of with a smile. the whole place has a feel of being on fantasy Island. If you get a chance to stay here- Do it ! we tryed all the resturants and liked them all.
