We spent one week at the Playa Grande. We have been going for several years and it feels like home. Everyone is so wonderful there. Being on the Pacific side you get the best of both worlds. You cannot swim in the Pa IFC at this point because of the dangerous undertow. You can tell by the type of waves that the depth of the water falls dramatically and quickly. However, this makes the view from most of the rooms breathtaking. Each time we go I can't fathom how lucky we are to be there.
Although I don't usually mention the kitchenettes. The Playa Grande's rooms have large enough ones to really use and enjoy.

Room Tip: We prefer the main Playa Grande area which. Faces the Pacific in upper rooms for the glorious view i...

It was our first time to Cabo and my now fiancé and I stayed at the Playa Grande over 4th of July weekend. He actually proposed to me during the 4th of July party on stage in front of the entire resort at the Brigantine Restaurant. So obviously, I will always have a special place in my heart for Playa Grande. But besides that this resort was top notch. There are five swimming pools, which includes an infinity pool over by the Ridge. We really enjoyed their theme nights, the swim up bar and the sushi bar. For an all-inclusive resort, the food was so delicious. We had a one bedroom suite that came with a full kitchen. Along with it came some complimentary refreshments in the fridge which includes champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It is perfectly situated in between the beach and the marina but Playa Grande had it all that we pretty much never found the need to leave. The staff were so nice to us and check out was the easiest I ever experienced. We will definitely stay at Playa Grande again. If anyone has videos or pictures from our proposal, can you please email it to me at jasminecong2@yahoo.com. Thanks so much all!

We own three timeshare units at PGR. Every time we arrive, it's like coming home. The staff are fantastic! It's a beautiful property on the Pacific Ocean - very private but just over the hill from the marina. We look forward to our visit every year.

We, as a family have been going to Playa Grande for several years and have enjoyed our stay every time. The staff always treat us well and are very friendly. Can't wait to go back in Oct. The pools are awesome and the views of the Ocean or the town/marina are wonderful.

Room Tip: If you can get a room on the Ridge. Go for it.

As owners at Playa Grande, we vacationed from May 26th through June 4th. Since we live on the U.S. east coast and it takes a good part of the day to get there and back, we purchase 2 extra nights at a discounted price. Therefore, we don’t have to leave on Sunday when lobby is packed with everyone coming and going. The location is great, right on the ocean and walking distance into town.

We don’t come to Playa Grande every year but this was the 2nd year in a row that we have. Our 2 small children (ages 4 and 2) love the pools and the slide up on The Ridge. We also took them on the yellow submarine tour which I’d recommend for small children. One suggestion I have is to install a water slide in the original section of the resort, if that’s possible.

The staff at Playa Grande is very friendly and quick to resolve any issues. Specifically, Viridiana, who runs the resort’s kid’s club service, does a tremendous job working with the kids. She’s very interactive and engaging. While our children are still a bit too young to participate in the kids club activities, she’d stop and chat with them and also let our kids help feed the Koi and turtles in the small ponds on the property, with the other kids.

Most of the time, we ate pool side or in the room, as we purchased food then we got there. We did not utilize any of the resort’s dinner theme nights but did dine in town several times. We dined at the Brigantine Restaurant one evening, and unfortunately, the food was overcooked. We also ate at the Sunday Brunch and the food was good.

The room was very clean but a couple of minor issues. The toaster did not work. I communicated this to the front desk and it was promptly replaced. The unit could also use a coat of paint.

We enjoy travelling to other places, so we might not be back next year, but definitely in the future.

This was our first visit to Playa Grande and Cabo San Lucas. We thoroughly enjoyed both! We booked our stay through RCI and chose to take advantage of the all inclusive wristband.

Staff - Wow! Great, great people. Many of them remembered who we were from day to day and everyone was very accommodating to anything we needed. Every day staff members were sweeping away water or sand to make sure the entire resort was clean!

All inclusive and Food/Beverages - Very much worth it for us. We were on a couple's only trip and didn't want to bother with cooking, so we definitely got our money's worth. Breakfast buffet had the same items each day, but it was a large variety with omelets, waffles, pancakes, French toast, fruit, breads, cereals, etc every day. Lunch was available at a couple of places and were the standard tacos, wings, salads, quesadillas, burgers, etc. There is a theme dinner each night. Food at the Mexican Fiesta and Beach Party weren't the best, but the party itself was worth it. All types of beverages were allowed at no extra cost or charge. There were items on some menus that required an extra charge like lobster (except on Lobster/Seafood night it was included). We also ate dinner twice at Puerta San Lucas which was included in the all inclusive. It was amazing and I will have a review there.

Accomodations - The room was neat and clean. We had a fabulous location right off the lobby entrance. We had a studio, but were pleased to find a little kitchenette! We know for the future that it would be more than enough space for us and our 2 kids should we return. We had one snag with the television (a tropical storm came through and all channels were lost). After 3 days, all channels were back, but it was quite boring in the evenings after a long day in the sun when you just wanted to watch tv. There are DVD players available, but they were all out already when we checked.

Timeshare - We were only "bothered" during check-in. You have to get your welcome drink certificates and towel cards from the timeshare desks. We did not do the tour, nor were we over pressured to commit to going to one. We appreciated that!

Pool/Beach - Since it is on the Pacific side, you cannot swim in the ocean. The water taxis to the beaches are in the marina across the street, so it's not inconvenient. The pools were great at the hotel. We spent most of our time at the adults only pool. I was a little shocked at one point though, when Solmar owners were told they couldn't have their own food and drinks at the pool. I think this policy is strange since you are paying to be there and the whole point of a condo is being able to have your own food and drinks. They were told they could eat in their rooms but had to buy food and drinks from the hotel when poolside.

Spa - I took advantage of Icthiotherapy...a fish pedicure! I did the 30 minute $75USD pedicure that included a foot massage, paraffin treatment, and change of polish. The entire experience lasted 2 hours. Well worth it!

Seven family members (in three rooms) stayed at Playa Grande for a week in late June 2013. It was a fun trip and a great place for our group. Rooms were nice, and even the smaller rooms were big enough. Balconies for each room were very nice.

The children loved the beautiful swimming pools. There were interesting resort activities and we were close enough to the marina and town to walk in for meals and shopping. The best resort activity was the pottery/wooden bowl painting. The items available to paint were the same as the ones that could be purchased at several shops in town (already painted, of course). At the resort, you could paint one day and pick up your finished object the next. The artist who ran this activity added wonderful finishing touches (outlining in black, glitter paint accents, etc.) and laquered the objects. We are not artists and the things we painted look every bit as good as those we could have purchased - for half the price - and the enjoyment of knowing we made our own souvenir.

We only ate at the hotel once, the Sunday brunch. The food was good. Drinks were excellent.

If we go to Cabo again, we will stay at Playa Grande.

Room Tip: Junior suites were adequate with kitchen facilities. Master suites were very roomy with full kitchen...

Dear Susana

I am very satisfied that you enjoy your stay with us, the rooms, the pools, the big activities and also one of our faves, the pottery, with Don Clemente. It is something that along with other things, we would love to maintain, just for you.

Thank you also for your comments regarding our food and drinks.

We would love to welcome you back again with all your family members.

Sincerely,
