We have been going to Playa Grande for 5 years now with our friends who own a week on "The Ridge" in a Presidential Suite with views of the Marina and the Pacific. It is a fantastic resort with a beautiful location. All the amenities one could ask for are available, i.e. restaurants, pools, and beach access even though you cannot swim in the Pacific due to the surf and rip tides. The Staff is polite and very helpful. One major plus is it's location. You can walk into town, or take a Taxi, and enjoy the shopping and local restaurants, We usually eat lunch at the resort and the food is very good. We also enjoyed eating at the three off-site restaurants associated with the resort as well as the local restaurants in town. Salvatories is one of our favorite restaurants to eat at. We have not done the all-inclusive plan at the resort as we enjoy trying different local places. If you are looking for a great resort with great staff, rooms, and service please give Playa Grande a try.

We absolutely LOVE this resort. We've seen a lot in Cabo, and this one is our favorite. Everything from the food at the restaurants (Yesenia is AMAZING), Kid's club and the entertainment staff are all awesome! Viridiana, Christina, Miriam, and Roberto were very friendly and helpful!

We stayed here for a week on an RCI exchange. I believe guest accommodations are different from owner accommodations so this is for non-owners. My husband I stayed in a very nice corner studio, ample for a couple, may be okay for a small family, but NOT with teenagers. Partial ocean view, but very pretty from our balcony. Smooth check-in, check-out no problem. Great service everywhere, very nicely maintained no complaints except food was average. Opted out of the all-inclusive because we didn't like our first lunch at Colima restaurant. We had a few things at the poolside, okay but not spectacular. Also had a very nice buffet breakfast one day at the Brigantine restaurant; will recommend. Some tips
1. From the airport take a shuttle ($16 per person vs 80 dollars for a private taxi). On the way back booking thru' the resort is a few bucks extra, but that's the norm.
2. The beach is nice here, but NOT a swimming beach. We took a water taxi, booked through the concierge, to the arches and stopped at the Pelican beach (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). Lovers beach and Medano beach. Had a great day snorkeling at Pelican beach (can rent equipment at the beach or carry your own). My favorite day.
3. We discovered many great restaurants a few minutes walking distance from the resort, some at the marina. One that stands out is owned by the resort but we are unsure whether it was part of the all-inclusive : Haciendas Cucina y Cantina, our favorite, went twice (read my review separately). Another favorite was at the marina, three mins walking distance called La Taverna. We had breakfast at some smaller places along the marina, LOVED it.
4. THE SPA at Playa Grande. If i could afford it, would do this everyday :). Amazing spa, very nice staff (Livier, Laura thanks for our wonderful massages and body wraps and the reception staff was very nice too).

Enjoyed our visit to Cabo very very much. Thanks!

Room Tip: Most rooms seem to have a view from the balcony. Do ask. Studios are great for a couple, not for a f...

My boyfriend and I went May 1st-6th and It was awesome!!! It was our first time going to cabo and we left so sad. Playa grande was AMAZING!! We didn't want to leave. The resort it self is breath taking. Soo big and beautiful. The staff there was so polite and helpful with anything you needed or any questions you had. Our maid Claudia was awesome! Thanks to her our room was very clean. When we first got there we had booked a junior suite and got upgraded to a bigger room. The room was located on the ridge side of the resort and it faced the marina, which is an amazing view! We also opted out of the all-inclusive. And we don't regret it! There's so many options on the marine that it was great. We saved money by not doing the all inclusive...but we did go to one of there themed dinners and had fun. The food was delicious, as assumed, but I still would possibly not choose the all inclusive. Especially now know my way around town. There's sooo much to do. We walked to everything. We never took a cab, we always walked through the marina. A must place to eat is at the Cabo Cantina!!!! We literally ate there atleast once a day. The food is so affordable and soooo good!!! A must eat!! The night scene is also a must!!! There's so much to do late at night and lots of drinking! The drinks do add up but so worth it....El Squid Roe was the best for us! The entire trip was wonderful and I can't wait to come back and stay at the playa grande!

One of those places where the 'brochure' doesn't do it justice. It was a more beautiful setting and resort than the pictures show. The room was amazing, the view from the room was amazing and the pools, private beach, etc. all fantastic. We really liked the fact that we could walk into town, the short walk help work off the food.

We also really enjoyed the beach. While you can't swim due to currents, we enjoyed the waves and the privacy. Nobody selling anything on this beach and typically few people. Most of the time we didn't have another person within 100 yards. Also loved the walk down to Lands End. We actually did the rock climb over to Lovers beach. Fun adventure!

Only cons - front desk people on phone several times on two occasions when trying to checkin and get information. Line to get to concierge.

Had a really great time celebrating 25th anniversary and can't wait to go back again.

Traded an rci week to get a 1 BR at playa grande in cabo. Room was very nice. One large bedroom and Two full baths and could easily sleep 4. Kitchen was well equipped but got little us as the dining in cabo is very good. We had two balconies for enjoying breakfast or re-energizing from all that cabo has to offer. The resort has multiple pools and two infinity style pools up on the ridge, one overlooks the marina and the other the Pacific. Swimming here is restricted as the Pacific waves are dangerous. You can easily walk to the marina and many restaurants. Medano beach is a long walk or water taxi away.

We recommend Playa grande for anyone visiting cabo.

Room Tip: The ridge section is high above with views of the marina and ocean.

We loved this place so much that we bought a timeshare - to show how much we really loved it we upgraded to a 2 bedroom............. need I say more?
The scenery is wonderful, the amenities 1st class and this is all held together by the people that work tirelessly to make it such a great place. Just wander out onto the beach, stroll around the resort - take a walk around the marina and I defy you to find anywhere better!!!

Room Tip: If just 2 of you then all the rooms a great but if 4 or more then consider the 2 room penthouses.
