We went for the day to check out the hotel and restaurant for a destination wedding next year. We met Nubia who showed us the entire property. The property is gorgoeus. They valet your car and give you wonderful refreshing drinks upon arrival. The view is breathtaking from every angle. They have a lovely tiered outdoor diningroom that they set up with tiki torches for dinner. They have a fantastic location on a small private beach. The beach is swimable but its rocky. The view from the private beach is of the arch. The swimming pool has a milliion dollar view for photos. Its a lovely rectangle shaped infinity pool on a small hill surrounded by palm trees and chairs. When you stand at the head of the pool the palm trees fram the pool and the pool then melts into the ocean. Its a superb location for photos. We also saw some of the guest rooms. The were all generous in size and nicely stocked with ammenities. They all had balconies. Some had a jacuzzi and some had a hammock. They all had bath products, wifi, large screen tv's , hairdryers, mini frig, The grounds were immaculate and the staff was very nice. They rest of the grounds have several pools, tennis courts and a spa that i did not make it to. They also have a gift shop and are close to Cabo. I would go back in a heartbeat

Many years ago we had eaten dinner at Esperanza and thought that some day we would like to stay at the hotel. This year we decided to book a six night get away at Esperanza.and, we are so glad that we did. What a wonderful hotel. The grounds are beautiful and impeccably maintained. Our room is large and everything about it is terrific. We are on the third floor so we have a beautiful view of the ocean looking out over the swimming pool. Our balcony has a negative edge jacuzzi which is spectacular. The bathroom has a double shower with a large window looking out on the jacuzzi and the Sea of Cortez.

What is absolutely spectacular is that you can sleep with the sliding glass doors open and listen to the ocean. The glass sliding doors are pocket doors, so the room really feels wide open. There are no bugs!

The amenities in the room are great. Plenty of bottled water (no extra charge). Same for soda. Excellent coffee machine In the room so that it is delightful to sit on the balcony and have coffee in the morning.

The beach is absolutely stunning with very comfortable day bed type chaises and plenty of umbrellas to provide shade. And, children under sixteen are not allowed at the hotel pool. So, it is a perfect place to relax.

If it fits in your budget, I would definitely recommend staying at Esperanza. We will be back.

Esperanza is absolutely wonderful in every way! We stayed in a 4 bedroom Villa for a week long girls trip. Our accommodations were excellent, but you wouldn't have to stay in a villa to have marvelous rooms and service. The resort is unpretentious and blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Its beauty crept up on me. It starts with the wonderful ocean view from the palapa pool and restaurant, then the view of the resort pools stair stepping down towards the ocean, later the view from the lobby bar and main restaurant is remarkable (especially at night, when they light up the rock) with the waves hitting the rocks.
Food served poolside from the palapa restaurant is excellent. Fajitas were great! The main restaurant is highly ranked in Cabo and something new on the menu is a 3 course prix fixe for $60 or a 4 course for $70. I tried the scallop appetizer, fillet and even an expresso soufflé' They were muy bueno!! Tip: Take a wrap because it cools down with sunset and the breeze.
Service is above A+++. Everyone from groundskeepers to boutique workers, to drivers, to massage therapists go above and beyond in their service and seem genuinely friendly.
Spa was rated one of the best is Mexico and I would agree that the massage I had was one of the best ever. I didn't "hang" in the meditative and restorative areas, but thought they were comfortable. They give you a "smoothie" type drink either before or after you treatment. It was yummy and you just knew from the color green that it was good for you -haha.
Security is very subtle, but we had to go through 2 security gates/checks by auto when headed towards the room. I had the feeling that everyone knew where we were and how we were doing all of the time - not in a creepy way, just the way where they call a golf cart to take you up the hill when you were walking that way....nice like that.
The resort will have your villa, casita, etc stocked with groceries for you, provide very safe, clean transportation, most of the usual fee services. Worth it.
It's a fair drive from the airport and into town. Since it was a relaxing girls trip we planned to stay at the resort and so only ventured out for dinner at Edith's (I highly recommend) and a walk around the marina. Staying in, more than served our purpose, but I do know that many activities abound in the area from golf to water sports/boating/fishing.
I did see some families with children, ok one family with children. We weren't there during the summer or any holiday, so that probably explained it. I did hear that during Easter the resort was full of families. So if not looking for kids, visiting end of April, beginning of May worked for us.
Really can't say enough good things and honestly can't think of even one thing I was dissatisfied with. Highly deserves it's 5 star rating.

We just celebrating our wedding day at the Esperanza Resort in April. Living in a different country, I was hesitant to sign up for a destination wedding worried it would be hard to get anything done and hard to get people to come. We fell in love with the Esperanza after having dinner at the Cocina Del Mar a few times as a family. After I began considering the Esperanza no where else could even come close. I took the plunge and began planning the wedding booking the resort almost immediately after being engaged. It was the best decision of our lives. The Esperanza staff is beyond incredible. The resort is no doubt breathtaking, but working with the wedding coordinator Nubia, was an absolute pleasure. Every little detail was taken care of. Being an event planner myself, that can sometimes be hard to be hands off and allow someone else to do your job. I was SO confident in Nubia and she was beyond competent in handling everything that I never once felt the need to step in. We only traveled down once before the wedding to do the tasting because everything else could be handled by email and a few conference calls. This resort is so stunning, the staff is so over the top, and the food and drinks are 5 star that nothing can top it. Our wedding day was more than we could have ever dreamed of and it is all thanks to this amazing place. Thank you for the most amazing wedding experience and a wonderful stay with your resort! We will no doubt be lifetime guests!

Room Tip: All of their rooms are amazing! We upgraded for our wedding and it was well worth it!

We stayed at Esperanza for 5 nights two weeks ago. The property lives up to its high rankings. We stayed in a 4 bedroom private residence which was outstanding. The staff was top notch. Everyone was pleasant and always willing to help. Our villa staff was exceptional. Hats off to our concierge Roberto. He was always there when you needed him. The property is so large at times you needed a golf cart to get around. We had two young children and 4 grandparents in our group so walking wasn't always an option. After two days he arranged for an assigned golf cart parked in front that we could use 24/7. Great service. As for the Mexican themed dinner/buffet on Thursday I would say it is a bit expensive, $ 72 per adult and $32 for children under 12. The food was very good but you cannot possibly eat $ 72 worth of Mexican food anywhere. That said dinner at the man restaurant was excellent and breakfast was the best food deal. What really impressed was the staff for breakfast knew our names two days into our stay. All in all a top resort and a great vacation.

We stayed at the Esperanza for the first time in September of 2013 with friends to celebrate some birthdays and our wedding anniversary. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the resort is spectacular. We stayed in a Terrace Casita with a private plunge pool and it was such a treat to be able to relax in our own small pool on the terrace and look out at the ocean while sipping a beverage. The rooms are very large and comfortable, with huge bathrooms and nice, unexpected amenities like SPF15 lip balm. The service is professional, yet very warm and welcoming throughout the resort. If you're there on a Thursday evening, don't miss the Mexican Fiesta with the fireworks. The food is delicious at all the restaurants, but the music and setting make the Thursday night dinner very special. We asked Ines, our Concierge for restaurant recommendations and she sent us to the Hacienda Cocina y Cantina and it was excellent. She also arranged for a kayaking outing that was really fun as well. We used the hotel's transportation to and from the airport and plan to do so again this trip. Since it will just be me and my husband on our next visit in a few weeks, we've reserved a Garden Casita but perhaps since we're such fans of Esperanza, the Rooms Manager will upgrade us (hint, hint). Choose the Esperanza for your trip to Cabo and you'll be so pleased.

Room Tip: The private plunge pool in the Terrace Casita was amazing.

I am not sure what previous reviewer was referring to. We have been here 3 times in the last year. We have 2 children and the location in the resort we stay there are hardly any children. It is NOT an adults only resort - I don't think they advertise as such. You should have stayed at a sandals or some other all inclusive ADULT ONLY resort.
There are several different sections to this massive resort. The private residences (where we stay), the viilas, the condo side. The condo side does seem to be more busy.
The staff is very attentive and always helpful beyond normal standards. The grounds are lush and green and manicured. There are several restaurants (all Oceanside) on site and we have always had great food. The Palaypa restaurant has themed nights and fireside smores each evening. There are fireworks on the weekend evenings at 9:00.
They have taxis on site to use to go into town (about a 10 min ride).

Room Tip: All rooms are spectacular - it looks like they try to get all of them to have ocean views.
